베네치아 Benechia A three-floor sea-view cafe facing Wando harbour park, with bookable rooms, board games and a ramp at the door
Data as of · Published ·
Venezia is a three-storey sea-view café across from the fountain in Wando's harbour park, directly opposite the seaweed exhibition hall. It has a whole building to itself — rare in Wando — and you order on the ground floor and climb to sit. The list runs to coffee and lattes, smoothies, ades and frappés, house-made teas, and a case of cakes, honey bread, churros and mont blanc; the only thing approaching a meal is a croque monsieur, and nobody reports eating one. Open 10am to 10pm daily, with two writers recording that it never closes. Small bookable rooms on the ground and first floors serve as a pet-friendly room and a meeting room, by several accounts, and a shelf of board games brings students in to do their coursework. Two writers note the shop's official "excellent" hygiene grade. Three of the twenty-six posts are not visits and are out of the count: two copy the shop's map listing, one is an affiliate-link piece. The posts we read run from October 2024 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- Seventeen writers call it big; not one calls it cramped. The floors do different things. The ground floor holds the counter, the cookie display, a bookable room, the toilets and a fair number of seats. The first floor is the largest, with the widest choice of seating — group tables and sofas — by four accounts. The top floor reads as a mezzanine: "more like a half floor", "like an attic", with few seats. Three note enough space between tables to ignore the neighbours, and three the high ceiling. Two mention that a coach party could all get in at once, and three found groups already there. Two pass on the house rule: there is a return station on the first floor, but trays go back to the ground-floor counter.
- The view starts one floor up. Ten writers mention the glass walls; one puts the sea view as beginning on the first floor, and one had read in advance that the top floor was the place to sit. From a window seat you get the harbour park, the port, the moored boats and the ridgeline behind. The top floor costs you something, though: two moved down because the windows or folding doors were open and it was cold, one found it beyond the reach of the air conditioning in summer, and one went down in search of a power socket. Two arrived after dark and saw no sea at all — both liked the lights instead. One watched a busker outside from indoors.
- There are small rooms you can book — eleven writers mention them, and one counts three: two on the ground floor, one above. Four repeat the shop's own description of a pet room and a small meeting room, and one passes on the instruction to ring ahead. People have seen them in use: schoolboys doing group work, laptops out for coursework, a party that wanted to talk. One writer records a two-hour limit. Four suggest the place for a meeting or a study session.
- There is a shelf of board games — nine writers mention it, one marvelling that anywhere still keeps them. One played Blue Marble with her sisters; the others looked and wished they had time; one observed that you cannot play alone. What sits beside the games tells you what the place is: the bookable rooms, a water cooler, high chairs, a few books, and — by one account — local students bringing their homework and their gossip. It is both a stop for tourists and a room locals sit in for hours: one writer, visiting out of season in the afternoon, found almost nobody there but local pensioners.
- Nobody calls it expensive. Two writers give ₩3,900 for an americano and both add a note of surprise — for a sea-view place, for a tourist town; a third reckons it cheap for a café this size. Lattes and teas run ₩5,000–6,000, the cakes and honey bread and mont blanc ₩6,000, a bagel ₩3,000. Some of it is free: four writers were given oatmeal bites on the tray, and four record a cookie for writing a receipt review. One notes ₩1,000 off a drink with a winter sweet potato, and one that the local Wando gift voucher is accepted.

Parking
10 posts say you can park; 1 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

| Posts saying you cannot | 1 of 21 posts |
The posts disagree: ten writers parked, one says it is a nuisance. All ten describe the same thing — the main road in front, or the kerb along the harbour park: park out front, nobody charges, do your best; it looked like the sort of place you leave a car on the street, so I did; we lined up along the park. The dissenting account is blunt: there is no car park of the shop's own, so use the public one or fight for a kerb. Both readings look right. This is roadside space in a tourist town, not the shop's: one writer, arriving during the seaweed festival, circled the back lanes before she found anything. The shop's own listing says "parking", and we did not count that line — it appears only in the posts that copied the listing, and nobody reports seeing a lot.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Second floor | yes 0 · no 4 (of 21 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Ramp at the door | 2 of 21 posts |
| Step-free access | 2 of 21 posts |
| Toilet inside | 2 of 21 posts |
There is a ramp at the door, described by two writers who saw it. One notes it for pushchairs, wheelchairs and anyone unsteady on their feet, and adds that cafés with ramps are not common; the other found the ramped entrance the striking thing about the place. Of everywhere we have read, few posts state the threshold this plainly. Four mention high chairs for children, two of them giving the location — beside the water cooler on the first floor. Two place the toilets on the ground and first floors, next to the bookable rooms. The upper floors, though, are stairs only: no post mentions a lift, and one warns you to take the stairs carefully. So the ground floor is step-free, and the view is up the stairs.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 23 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No one writes about getting here by bus. Every set of directions is by landmark: opposite the seaweed exhibition hall, across from the fountain, facing the harbour park. One writer walked seven minutes from a nearby restaurant; one gives four minutes by car from the Wando ferry terminal; two stopped in before boarding a ferry to Jeju. Not a single post names a bus stop or a route number. How you would reach it without a car, we do not know.
- Nobody describes queueing. Three floors of seats is the likely reason, but we have not verified it. The nearest anyone comes: one writer watched the room fill through the afternoon until it was full, and another had the place to herself on a Sunday morning just after opening. The waiting here is of another kind — two writers record about ten minutes for the honey bread or the mont blanc to come out of the oven. One found parking impossible during the seaweed festival, but says nothing about the room inside.
- The hours hold steady across two years: all seventeen posts that give them say 10am to 10pm, and two add that it never closes — one of those two also records no afternoon break and no last order. Sixteen posts say nothing about closing days at all, so the claim rests on those two. Hours also appear in the posts that are not visits, copied from the shop's listing; we did not count those. And since the seasonal list turns over, what is on sale today is not something our posts can answer: sweetcorn frappés and watermelon juice in summer, baked sweet potatoes and ginger lattes in winter.
- Two writers disclose being paid. One was commissioned by the county for a coastal-trail piece (and records a ₩5,000 hwangchil tea); the other is an affiliate post with three Coupang links, which describes each menu item in turn without naming a single thing ordered or a single price — it is out of the count. One more writer was treated by a friend. Three posts are out of the denominator altogether: that affiliate piece and two that copy the shop's map listing (one reproducing the facility list, the prices, the owner's blurb and the review tallies; the other a scraped "top ten cafés in Wando" template). Six of our prices come from one of those: it is the shop's own list, and three figures in it match a visitor's own account exactly. Each menu entry says where its price came from.
