Gajang Masinneun Jokbal Mokpo Hadang
가장맛있는족발 목포하당점 A big, plain pork-trotter house on the Mokpo plaza, with a self-serve refill table and the trotters sliced in full view.
Data as of · Published ·
Gajang Masitneun Jokbal — 'the most delicious jokbal' — is a pork-trotter and bossam house on the ground floor of the Olive Young building in the Pyeonghwa Gwangjang eating lanes of Mokpo. Locals shorten the name to Gajok. Three in the afternoon until half past midnight, and two writers say it never closes for a day off. Two posts say it is in its third generation. The jokbal comes plain, fiery, chilled in mustard dressing, or in the chewier old-market style, and the house's mainstay is a tray with two of them side by side. The side dishes are unlimited from a self-serve refill table. It is a chain — there are branches in Gwangju too. The posts we read run from December 2024 to April 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours
What sets it apart
- The side dishes refill themselves, without limit — twenty-one of the twenty-eight first-hand posts say so, and nobody says otherwise. There is a separate table towards the kitchen with lettuce, white kimchi, chillies, garlic, onion, pickled peppers and chojang. The bean-sprout soup is self-serve too, from a hot urn — one writer tells drinkers specifically to note that. Six writers single out the fresh-cut kimchi and five the chive salad. One warns that the pickled peppers and chojang do not come to the table: you fetch those yourself.
- Twenty-two writers call it big. One counts tables and chairs enough for a party of forty or fifty; another notes plenty of six- and eight-seaters. There is a group area at the back, and one writer found partitioned seats. So the word that keeps coming up is 'work dinner' — three writers walked in on somebody else's. Two like the window seats; one found the windows open right out, which made the table cool.
- They cut the jokbal where you can watch. Seven posts mention it — pulled from the warmer and sliced the moment you order, the owner doing the trimming himself, something to watch while you wait. One writer says you can see the prep from outside the shop; another noticed the double gloves. Four posts note the posted origin labels.
- Takeaway knocks 3,000 won off the main dish — eleven posts say the same thing. Two writers came only to collect. One phoned ahead, found it packed and sealed to the minute, and makes a point of the municipal rubbish bag they tuck in with it; another says it was still warm after a thirty-minute drive home. Separately, a Naver receipt review earns a rice ball or a drink, once per table, according to six posts. Two note that local-currency vouchers are accepted.
- Of the eighteen posts that raise the question of muskiness, fourteen say there is none — and nobody says there is. Four go out of their way to say it is not greasy, two that it is not over-salted. One writer puts it down to same-day preparation. Several weigh up the ratio of skin to lean meat, and all of them are happy with it.

Parking
2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

The posts disagree about parking. Four say there is a free underground car park; four say the shop has none of its own and you use the kerb or a nearby public lot. Those cannot both be right. Most of the eight copied it into an info block at the top, and only two writers actually parked: one used the Wonhyeong 2 public lot on the plaza and says there are enough nearby that a short walk solves it; the other found space enough to collect a takeaway without trouble. A third listed the parking and then ran there on foot, after a jog. We do not know whether the underground car park exists.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 2 of 27 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 27 posts |
It is all on one floor. Fifteen posts give the address as the ground floor of 34 Wonhyeong-ro, and none describes seating upstairs or below. Several describe one room, with a group area and some partitioned tables at the back.
Not one of the twenty-nine posts mentions a threshold, a ramp, a wheelchair or a pushchair. We do not know whether you can get in — not that you cannot, but that nobody has written it down. Four posts mention an underground car park, which raises the obvious question of how you get up to the ground floor, and not one of them says anything about a lift.
Two people looked at the toilets. One gives directions: in through the middle of the room, behind a curtain with the shop's name on it. The other writes that they were clean enough, and adds a warning that the lock on the women's is stiff — check the door actually catches. That is the one first-hand confirmation that they are separated by sex; another post lists it, but copied off a Naver facilities panel, so we did not count it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Nobody writes about getting here without a car. Not one mention of a bus or a train; every writer gives the location by what you can see — next to the Olive Young on the plaza, beside the Cheongnyeon Dabang, the ground floor of Gourmet Square, near the CGV. Two arrived on foot, one on the way home from work and one straight from a run, so we have no idea how far it is from anywhere. The only other thing anyone says about walking is that the plaza is a good stroll after dinner.
- Nobody reports queueing — the room is too big for that. One writer arrived on a Friday evening to a full house and still walked straight in. But several note when the tables start to go: almost all the back tables taken on a Monday evening; a weekday night already 'heading for full'; two writers who turned up at half five and at six to find people already eating. Three advise booking for a group, and one writer actually did.
- One post in four is sponsored. Of the twenty-nine, seven disclose that the meal was provided — three review panels, one voucher, two tagged simply #sponsored, and one that says some of the food was comped and some paid for — while exactly one says the writer paid their own way. The other twenty say nothing. We kept the seven in the count, because a meal eaten is a meal eaten, but read the praise here with that ratio in view. We did drop one post (13913). Its markdown asterisks were never stripped, and it describes two things none of the other twenty-eight ever saw: perilla-leaf pickles among the side dishes, where everyone else has pickled peppers, and flying-fish roe in the rice balls, where everyone else has seaweed flakes, pickled radish and sesame oil. We take it to be template-written.
