Seokcheon Sikdang

석천식당 Sikdang simply means 'restaurant'; none of the posts explain the name Seokcheon.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

Seokcheon Sikdang is a crab-set restaurant on the ground floor of 689 Sinwol-ro in Yeosu's Gukdong, right on the main road. Almost everyone orders the one set, 14,000 won per person: soy and spicy marinated crab, marinated shrimp, a beef bulgogi hotpot simmered on a tabletop burner, boneless hairtail, chive pancake, tofu with kimchi, Dolsan mustard-leaf kimchi and a fried egg, with more side dishes at a self-serve bar. It used to be a floor-seating place in an alley of the Bongsan-dong crab street; every post we read is from after the move. We read 30 posts dated 26 May to 21 October 2026. Leaving out two about the massage shop upstairs and one bare listing, 27 describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The crab gets one refill. Eleven posts went back for crab or side dishes: one more round each of soy and spicy crab, with the rest from the self-serve bar. One post said the refill came as full as the first plate; another found it smaller.
  2. Expect a wait. Six posts queued: five groups already waiting at 9:40 before opening, number 38 with 18 groups ahead, 15 minutes at lunch, 31 groups waiting at checkout, and one free table left at 11:36. The three that walked straight in came at the 10 a.m. weekday opening or early. You register on a waitlist app at the door.
  3. Sweetness comes up repeatedly: five posts found the bulgogi or the spicy crab sweet, two of them as a complaint. Seven posts said the soy crab was not salty; one found it a little salty.
  4. Many families come with children. Six posts saw high chairs, and some mention child cutlery and ketchup at the self-serve bar. Several fed their kids the boneless hairtail and fried egg. One post notes you fetch the high chair yourself.

  1. Not everyone was impressed: three posts called the food ordinary, and one noticed a slight smell from the meat.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 27 posts

No post describes which floor you enter on beyond the '1F' in the address. A post about the massage shop upstairs mentions stairs and no lift, but that is not about this restaurant.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. Despite several family visits, nobody wrote about it — that means unreported, not absent.

On toilets, one post says it is inside and clean, another that it is separated by sex. Nobody mentions an accessible toilet.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Service reports are mixed: five posts found the staff kind, one was put off by a sarcastic tone, and one heard an argument in the kitchen.
  • The restaurant has moved. Nine posts mention it; two who knew the old place recall cramped floor seating. We did not count that as describing the current room. No post gives a moving date, but posts from May 2026 onward are already at the new address.
  • Opening hours are given consistently as 10:00–19:00 with last orders at 18:00 and no afternoon break. The closing day is disputed: nine posts say closed Wednesdays, six say open every day, with no pattern by date. Most of this is copied listing info, so check before a Wednesday visit.
  • Every post from May to October 2026 gives the same price, 14,000 won per person for the set; we saw no change. The 'good-price business' designation is quoted from the shop, not something we counted.
  • Phone: 061-643-5051, given by many posts. Reservations are unclear: one post says it could not book ahead and joined the waitlist on site, another saw tables set aside for groups and bookings. Claims that booking is possible come only from copied listing blocks.
  • Only one post came by bus, getting off at the Bongsan-dong crab-street stop and walking about two minutes. The 'ten minutes from Yeosu Station' line in other posts is by car or taxi and recurs in promotional copy.
  • Eight posts follow one template, repeating the same lines in the same order (near the main sights, ten minutes from the station, a good-price business, boneless Geomundo hairtail, 80 seats); some still carry a pasted review-count widget. Several have receipts, so we counted the visits, but not the copied claims.
