A family restaurant behind the Nonghyup bank in Iksan's Yeongdeung-dong — one branch of a chain serving pasta, pizza, steak and pilaf. What sets it apart
- Soft drinks and filter coffee are free and unlimited — twenty-five writers say so, more than agree on anything else here. Several build their value-for-money case on it, noting that a drink elsewhere starts at two thousand won, and five point out that a coffee afterwards saves the trip to a cafe. One counted six fizzy options. Cups are on the table, ice at the bar, and the same station holds pickles, spare plates, forks and tissues.
- There is a walled play room inside — twenty-two writers mention it. Six list what is in it: a claw machine, arcade games, blocks, a cross puzzle, a television. One notes you can watch through a big window and on CCTV. Another copied out all six house rules: ages four to eight, under-36-months only with an adult, no food inside, parents liable for breakages. One writer's children found it on their own the moment they walked in.
- Book through Naver and spend 30,000 won or more and the house salad (7,900 won) is free. Fourteen writers received one and three say it was generous enough that they were glad not to have ordered a salad separately. One had to change her order when a staff member pointed the deal out; another notes bookings must be made a day ahead, not same-day. Six say the table was laid or held for them.
- Discounts come from several directions. Seven writers report an instant thousand-won cut for adding the shop's KakaoTalk channel. A stamp card earns a free chicken pilaf, aglio e olio or gorgonzola pizza; a Naver review earns garlic bread. Two note that the same day's receipt gets 20% off drinks at the Angel-in-us across the road. Five confirm the Iksan local-currency cards and the government recovery vouchers are accepted. And for twelve days in November 2025 there was a half-price event — one dish per table, dine-in only.
- Every table has a tablet, so you never flag anyone down — eleven writers mention it, four noting the photos and descriptions make choosing easy. The food arrives by robot, which eleven also mention and two have nicknamed. One explains that you press a button when you have taken your plates and it drives itself back; another reckons a room this big and this busy needs one. Two write about their children's faces when it turned up.
- There is a separate group area, walled off beside the play room — fifteen writers mention it, one putting the long marble table at eighteen seats. Six imagine birthdays or work dinners there. But one found it already reserved, one found the lights off, and one found that section not yet opened for the day, so it is worth asking when you book rather than assuming.
- A waiting list sits by the door, which tells you something. Seven writers saw a queue — just after opening on a weekend, seven on a weekday evening, twenty to twelve on a Saturday, weekday lunch — and three of them only noticed it as they were leaving. The three who found the room quiet came on a rainy day, on a weekday afternoon, and at half past five at a weekend. Four say a booking skips it entirely.
- A white-and-green room with plants scattered through it and light coming in off the picture windows. Writers reach for the same image — eating in a garden — and one credits the planting outright; the marble tables get two mentions for the same effect. One says a refit made it far more comfortable, and two who know other branches of the chain find this one bigger and brighter. One notes the shop's official hygiene grade of "very good".

Three options, each with a catch — which is why nineteen writers spell them out. The lot in front is always free but holds four or five cars, and one writer flatly calls it cramped. The Nonghyup lot opposite costs 2,000 won per ten minutes on weekdays from 8am to 4pm, and is free after 4pm and all weekend — ten writers give the same terms. The kerb is available from noon to 2pm and after 7pm. Two say parking is the hardest part of coming here, and one adds that the Lotte Mart lot works too. Anyone dropping in at midday should look hard at that ten-minute rate.

The restaurant is on the ground floor and the photo studio upstairs is the same business family: according to the district's own blog, Simin Photo Studio began outside Iksan station in 1940 and now runs as a studio on the second floor under the same proprietor. So you can eat and then have a family or profile portrait taken — but the studio is a separate business, and what we read about is the restaurant.
Nobody looked at the threshold, a ramp or the door width. Three posts carry "accessible parking bay" or "accessible facilities", but all three sit inside a copied block of Naver amenity ticks and none of them describes the entrance. A post does mention a lift — but that post is about the studio upstairs and we excluded it. About getting into the ground-floor restaurant we know nothing.
The toilets are inside and separated by sex — and this comes from writers who looked, not from a copied amenity list. One gives the location, at the end of the wall with the grass panelling; another was glad of a separate hand basin to use before eating.

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Exactly one writer explains the bus: three minutes' walk from the Yeongdeung Bisabeol Apartments stop. The other twenty-six talk only about driving. They do give landmarks — behind the Nonghyup bank, beside or behind the Lotte Mart, near Iksan Citizens' Park. One person's three minutes is not a figure we have checked.
- Sixteen writers mention high chairs but only one says anything about how many (enough of them). Two actually seated a child, and one notes that children's cutlery arrived without her asking. Nobody says whether there is anywhere to change a nappy — a play room and a high chair are not the same thing.
