FLOYEAST
플로이스트 Peulloiseuteu Floyeast joins FLOUR and YEAST with EAST, for the eastern end of Jeju where it stands — two posts give this origin.

Floyeast is a bakery café on the first and second floors of the Glass House, the Tadao Ando building inside Phoenix Island at Seopjikoji, Seongsan. You choose bread and drinks downstairs and sit upstairs, looking through floor-to-ceiling glass at Seongsan Ilchulbong and the sea. Three posts put an americano at 7,000 won; there are also breads, cakes, mango shaved ice, pasta and pizza. Until May 2025 the second floor was the 'Mint' restaurant, which then became this café. We read 30 posts published between 5 September and 21 October 2026; 22 of them describe going in and what they had (visits from March to October 2026). Family trips are the most common (9 posts), and many posts mention the café as one stop in a Phoenix Island stay.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Three posts call it expensive; two others say so but stop short of a verdict, citing the view or the cake's quality. Prices given: americano 7,000 won, flat white 7,500, carrot cake 8,500, milk ice cream 5,500. One post found the flat white paper-cup small, and one says every person must order at least one item.
- Two posts complained about upkeep — tables and chairs too grubby, and a fabric sofa with a stained back covered by a white cloth. One post called the interior clean.
- Five posts went with children. One notes the high chairs are Stokke Tripp Trapps; others mention kids having cake, cup fruit or a chocolate latte. One couple left the children outside and went in alone.

Parking
9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

You can't drive to the door. Of the 9 posts that parked, most left the car at the Phoenix Island check-in centre and took the resort shuttle or the 'tin-can train' (6,000 won return). Those who walked say about 15 minutes, or 15–20 minutes. One post parked near the Seopji breakwater and walked five minutes along the shore to the back door. A copied timetable says the shuttle doesn't run from 12:00 to 13:00.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 10 of 22 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 5 (of 22 posts read) |
Order downstairs, sit upstairs: 10 posts went up to the second floor to sit, and 5 say they ordered on the ground floor. Ten posts describe the sea and Seongsan Ilchulbong through the glass. Window seats go fast — one post says the innermost window seats are fiercely contested, another found the good second-floor seats already taken. Two posts mention an outdoor terrace upstairs. One post that came around 3 p.m. found much of the bread already gone.
No post says anything about steps at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair, and none says whether there is a lift to the second-floor seating — that means we don't know, not that there isn't one. A note about the neighbouring Yumin museum having no lift is about the museum, not the café.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes queuing to get in. Several say it was crowded, and one warns it can feel hectic. Two posts say people queue for the red swing photo spot behind the café. How long you might wait inside, we don't know.
- Posts split one to one on public transport: one calls it a hassle, another rode the 'Ilchulbong GO!' self-driving shuttle to Phoenix Island in March 2026, free at the time. The same post copies the current terms: 1,150 won for adults, Tuesday to Saturday only.
- Five visit posts give opening hours of 10:00–18:00 and one says 9:00; five give last order at 17:00, mostly copied from info blocks. One post copies a notice moving food last orders from 18:00 to 17:00 and drinks from 18:30 to 17:30 from 1 September, but an August visit already listed 17:00, so the timing is unclear. Only one copied post says it never closes.
- Two posts copy the phone number 064-731-7310 (neither visited). No one says whether reservations are taken. One post found the right-hand half of the second floor closed for a private event.
- One post discloses sponsorship, for the hotel stay it was part of; several drank coffee on a resort-package voucher. We did not count 8 posts that only list the café in a hotel review or itinerary or copy official info. On taste, one post differed from the rest, finding the drinks and bakes disappointing.
- Before May 2025 the space was the 'Mint' restaurant. One post had visited it then; we did not count anything from that period toward the café.
