죽림횟집 Jungnim means a bamboo grove, and hoetjip means a raw-fish restaurant.

Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →

A sashimi house on Soldongsan-ro in Seogwipo, just below Lee Jung-seop Street. Fish is sold by weight (assorted small, 1 kg, 100,000 won; Jungnim Special medium, 1.2 kg, 150,000 won), and an order brings a long run of side dishes: abalone porridge, shellfish, hairtail sashimi, grilled tilefish, fritters, abalone-innard fried rice and a closing fish stew. There are private rooms on the first and second floors; three posts ate in a second-floor room. We read 11 posts from January 2025 to September 2026: one was about a different restaurant in Tongyeong and was set aside, three were restaurant lists, and seven describe an actual meal.

What sets it apart

  1. Three posts ate in a private room. A family of seven used a second-floor room; a post that booked by phone was shown to a second-floor room with the heater already on; another notes that each room has its own door.
  2. Three posts call the portions large. Seven people shared a medium and a small Jungnim Special for 310,000 won including drinks, had food left over and took the fish stew home; a family of four filled up on one large special.
  3. Two posts found the staff friendly; one says the owner checked in during the meal and explained each dish.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 6 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 6 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 6 posts

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, nor whether the second-floor rooms are reached by stairs or a lift. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no access.

Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is indoors and clean. Nobody says whether there are separate men's and women's toilets.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 9 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post gives the total for a meal: 310,000 won for seven, drinks included (March 2026). A figure of about 70,000 won a head comes from a 2009 visit and is not a current price. The menu prices match across posts from May 2025 to March 2026.
  • No post describes arriving by bus. One says it is a seven-minute walk from Olle Market; we know nothing about stops or routes.
  • No post mentions waiting, either way. One post booked ahead by phone.
  • Two visiting posts list hours of 11:30 to 22:00 daily, but both copied that into a header. No post records a break, last order or closing day from experience. Five posts give the phone number as 064-733-7688, and one post used it to book.
  • One post came with a toddler. Its mention of high chairs and children's tableware sits in a copied info header, so we did not count it.
