Cafe Jun is a white two-storey cafe on the slope that runs down from the Lee Jung-seop art street towards Cheonjiyeon falls in Seogwipo, opposite a restaurant and behind Hotel Yeon. Nothing blocks the view from up there, so the Saeyeon bridge and the harbour sit straight in front of you. It opens at eleven in the morning and runs until half past eleven at night, and it sells bottled beer and bar snacks as well as coffee and cake. The art street, the market, the waterfall and the coastal park are all within ten minutes on foot. The posts we read run from October 2024 to September 2026.

What sets it apart
- There are four different places to sit, and which you pick changes the visit. ① The terrace: rattan chairs under an awning, about ten tables all facing the sea, from two-seaters up to six. ② The roof: up a staircase at the side, with grass and sun loungers, and the widest view of all — the bridge, the sea and Hallasan in one sweep; one writer found the terrace full and the roof empty. ③ The ground floor, high-ceilinged, with the sea through the window. ④ The mezzanine, attic-like and quiet — though two writers warn the windows up there are small and you cannot see out well, so skip it if the view is the point.
- It is a cafe that sells beer — fourteen posts say so. Red Horse, Guinness, Jeju wit ale, San Miguel, Hoegaarden, Heineken, Corona, Budweiser, Kozel Dark, Cass, Terra, with a separate list of things to eat alongside: nachos and chips, boneless chicken, grilled dried pollack, dried filefish and squid. It runs until half eleven, and one writer treats it as somewhere to come for a second or third round of the night. Only two of the fourteen actually drank, though — the rest all end with a promise to come back for a beer at sunset.
- The menu is printed in Korean and English. Four writers mention it, and three take it as a sign that foreign visitors to the art street find their way here; one watched a group of them on the terrace gather their things when the wind got up. An English menu is not a given at a Jeju tourist cafe, so this is somewhere you can order without reading Korean.
- People come here to get away from the big crowded cafes. One writer chose it after finding the famous ocean-view places too busy to relax in; another says it is where she goes when she wants the view without the scale; another found it quiet on a weekday afternoon. One sat for a couple of hours and finished a book. The two floors feel different, though: one writer went upstairs because the ground floor was lively, while another recommends the ground floor precisely for sitting with a beer and staring out. One was surprised to find it busy on a weekday afternoon.

There is no car park of its own, and no two writers agree on where to leave the car. One asked the owner and was told to use the Catholic church's car park. Two say to use Hotel Yeon's, and one of them adds that you have to move it by three in the afternoon because of hotel check-in. Another parks at the Cheonjiyeon public car park and walks up along the sea. There are spaces at the cafe itself, but one writer counted one, and another calls them cramped. Against that, one writer states flatly that there was no car park, and another that parking nearby is quite hard. One notes the lanes are narrow enough that a small car helps.

Not one post mentions a step, a stair count or a ramp — and this is a cafe on a hill, with two entrances front and back, a mezzanine inside, and a roof terrace reached by an outside staircase. None of the twenty-eight says how many steps that is, whether there is a threshold at the door, or whether a pushchair or wheelchair gets in. One writer came with a twenty-month-old and says only that they ate inside because of the baby. That is not the same as there being no problem — it means nobody looked.

What we do not know
- The closing day does not hold still. Seven posts say every Tuesday; three from July and August 2025 say the second and fourth Tuesday of the month; two from October 2025 say the first, third and fifth. Two from April 2026 simply say the closures are announced on Instagram. Whether it changed or writers copied it wrong, we cannot tell — if you are going on a Tuesday, check @jeju_cafejun first. On the closing time, seventeen say 11.30pm and one says midnight.
- A lot is written about sunset and after dark, and most of it is guesswork. Three writers actually saw the sunset or the lit bridge; the rest say they will come back for it, or that it must be good. Four suggest you could watch the Friday and Saturday night show and fireworks at the bridge from here — but not one post records having done so. Writing "it must be lovely at night" after an afternoon visit is not the same as having been.
- Only one writer looked at the toilet, and what she noted was that it is separated by sex — something she says matters to her. Whether it is inside the cafe or out, how big it is, what floor it is on: nobody wrote it down.
- No post mentions public transport — no bus from the city, no nearest stop. What several do describe is the walk: down the art street from the market towards the water and you are there, with the waterfall, the coastal park and Saeseom island all inside ten minutes. Two writers travelled Seogwipo entirely on foot, and both slotted this into a walking route.
- Three posts declare a sponsorship — two with a closing hashtag, both dated 10 April 2026, and one stating that the drinks were provided. One states plainly that she paid. The other twenty-four say nothing. Unlike a promotional burst, though, these twenty-eight are spread evenly across two years — five from 2024, seven from 2025, sixteen from 2026. Six are Jeju travel diaries covering many places, and from those we read only the Cafe Jun passage and counted only what was in it.
- Nobody queued. Across twenty-eight posts, not one records a wait — no minutes counted, no line at the door. All we have is a single writer noting it was quiet on a weekday, and a mention of the terrace filling up so the party went to the roof. Whether you get a table on a weekend afternoon or at sunset, nobody says.
