Tammora
탐모라 Tammora is one of the old names for Jeju Island, from the ancient kingdom of Tamna.

A buffet restaurant inside Hotel The Born Jeju at 18 Saekdal-ro, Seogwipo. Since 1 October 2026 it has again run a lunch buffet (11:00-14:30) open to non-guests, priced at 23,000 won for adults but 18,000 won throughout October. The spread is mostly Korean - stir-fried pork, gimbap, a yogurt the hotel says it makes itself - plus udon cooked to order in three styles. Breakfast (7-10am, 12,000 won) is currently for hotel guests only. We read 30 posts dated 10 January to 21 October 2026. We set aside 12 that were not about this restaurant (the Tammora pool and sauna at Somerset Jeju Shinhwa World, the Yeondon cutlet shop next door, a bakery on the same floor, hotel stay reviews); of the remaining 18, 16 describe actually eating here - 9 October lunches and 7 breakfasts.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- October lunches meant long queues. Eight of the nine lunch posts describe waiting. The CatchTable remote waitlist opens at 10am, and four posts say it only opens once two parties have signed up on the on-site tablet. The numbers people got were 7, 34, 45, 64, 109 and the 90s; on one Sunday 158 parties signed up and the list closed within five minutes, and one post arrived at 10:50 to find sign-up already closed. Because the hall is large the list moved faster than expected, and two posts used the postpone feature to time their arrival. One post says phone reservations are not accepted. One noted that after 1pm tables free up and walk-ins get in quickly.
- Six posts describe the hall as spacious. One guessed it seats 50-60 parties at a time, and another says tables come in sizes for four, six and eight and staff seat you by party size. One post mentions waiting seats by the entrance and a separate waiting room. One post credited capped admissions for keeping the buffet line uncrowded even when busy, and praised staff for constantly wiping the counters and clearing plates. One post sat in a spot it found far too cold.
- Most found the food decent rather than memorable. Six posts called it ordinary - 'just an ordinary Korean buffet', 'no dish stuck in my memory'. Two said they would not return, one citing the wait and parking, the other disappointment against the hype. Others noted little seafood, no fried food beyond fries, and mostly marinated meats. On the other side, one post found the bulgogi and udon genuinely delicious and plans to go back. Six posts said it was good value.
- Five posts say you pick one of the three udon styles and staff boil the noodles on the spot. One post liked the rich broth enough to go back for more broth alone, another said it tastes exactly like station or rest-stop udon, and another found it slightly sweet. One post noted a wait at the udon station because people take several bowls.

- Two posts went with children, and one notes several high chairs. Children 48 months and under eat free - one post's four-year-old niece paid nothing - and children's cutlery is gathered in one spot. One post's five-year-old happily ate the mild soy-braised chicken, seaweed soup and soup, but spat out sausage that had gone cold.

Parking

Park in the hotel lot and register your car after the meal for three free hours. Without that, posts give 3,000 won for the first 30 minutes and 1,000 won per 10 minutes after. Seven of the nine posts that mention parking used the hotel lot, but during the October lunches space was tight - one post only got in after staff moved traffic cones, another saw almost no free spots after noon. The other two reached no clear conclusion: one found it full and parked down the road, another said it had room before 10am on a weekday, then filled up, and called it hard going. Other posts found it roomy, so it depends on the day and hour. The hotel has been under expansion work since April 2026, and posts say the main entrance is blocked and you drive in by the lower entrance.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 3 · no 1 (of 14 posts read) |

| Lift to the floor | 1 of 14 posts |
Posts disagree on the floor name. Three call it basement level 1 and one calls it the ground floor. They seem to mean the same place: the 'ground floor' post puts it next to the Paik's bakery, and a 'basement' post says you park and enter by the door beside that bakery to reach it. One post took the lift up to the check-in lobby above. It reads as level with the car park entrance.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we don't know, not that there is a problem.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 16 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Every post that ate here either drove or was staying at the hotel. None describes arriving by bus, so we can't say how it works by public transport.
- Opening hours: seven posts give lunch as 11:00-14:30. Four put last entry at 14:00, one at 13:30. Breakfast is 7:00-10:00 (last entry 9:30), guests only. No post mentions a closing day.
- Price: 18,000 won was an October 2026 promotion. Posts say it then returns to 23,000 won for adults and 15,000 won for children, with 15% off for Jeju residents (19,500 won), but no post yet covers a visit after October. One post says resident and hotel-guest discounts could not be combined with the promotion. Lunch is paid on the way in. The 12,000 won breakfast price is for hotel guests.
- Phone: only one post gives a number for the restaurant, 064-766-8960. One post says phone reservations aren't taken; you join the queue only through the CatchTable app or the on-site tablet. Where post titles say 'reservation', they mean the remote waitlist.
- What changed: breakfast was once open to outside diners but was guests-only by April 2026; lunch had at some point become guests-only before reopening in October 2026. The made-to-order noodle station changed too - an April 2026 post mentions rice noodles, September posts cold kimchi noodles and banquet noodles, and from October both breakfast and lunch serve the station-style udon.
- Watch the name: the Tammora pool and Tammora sauna at Somerset Jeju Shinhwa World are unrelated. We left out the seven posts about them.
