IRONY IVORY

아이러니아이보리 Aireoni Aibori The name is simply the English words 'irony' and 'ivory'; one post notes that IRONY on the sign is written mirror-reversed as a joke.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

Irony Ivory is a bakery and brunch café on the ground floor of the West wing of Parnas Hotel Jeju in the Jungmun resort area, next to the GS25. Most writers were hotel guests coming in instead of the hotel breakfast. The most-ordered dishes are the abalone pasta and the house salad, six posts each; prices recorded are ₩23,000 for the pasta, ₩19,000 for the salad, ₩17,000 for clam chowder, ₩24,000 for the green-onion cream lasagna and ₩7,500 for a latte (visits from March to September 2026). Two posts say you order at the counter, take a number and food is brought to you; one says you pick it up yourself. We read 30 posts from September 2025 to October 2026; 19 describe actually eating there or buying bread. Nine hotel guides, ranking lists, intros and a delivery post were not counted, and two hotel stay reviews that only mention the name in passing were set aside.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The hotel-guest discount applies to drinks only. Ten posts mention the 10% guest discount; two that paid say plainly that food is excluded — one paid ₩9,000 for a ₩10,000 mango smoothie. Four posts add that Jeju residents get the same 10% off drinks.
  2. The big windows look onto trees, not the sea. Eight posts mention window seats, describing a 'forest view, not an ocean view' and lots of greenery. Although the hotel sits on the coast, no visiting post saw the sea from this café.
  3. Eight posts call the room spacious, listing two- and four-tops, group tables, a long communal table (one says it seats twelve) and sofa seating further in. Four posts note the open kitchen.
  4. It is easy with a baby: six posts came with children and six mention high chairs. Two say staff brought baby cutlery unasked; one says to bring your own bib.
3 more
  1. Leave a receipt review and you get salt-bread rusks: four posts received them, one after ordering only two drinks, another noting the portion is small.
  2. The house salad is big: two posts call the portion enormous, one saying it came in a bigger bowl than the pasta. The same writer repeated this in a second post, which we counted once.
  3. Company: four posts came with children or parents, three with a spouse, one alone.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor from experience — only the address and listing say 'West wing, L floor' or 'ground floor'. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there are no steps.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair access. One post said it felt stroller-friendly, but did not describe actually bringing one in, so we did not count it.

Two posts note in their info lines that you use the hotel's restrooms rather than one inside the café. Neither describes going, so we did not count it; where they are and whether they are separated by gender, we do not know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 9 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting is one against one: one post waited for a family-sized table at the brunch rush and notes you cannot switch tables once food arrives; another found it quiet around 9 a.m. on a weekend. One post said food came out at a normal pace.
  • Seasoning splits: one post found the food generally salty and ordered separate bread for their toddler; another said the clam chowder was not very salty.
  • Bread may run low in the afternoon: two posts found the shelves largely empty around 2–3 p.m. Right after opening, one post found few loaves and another found plenty.
  • Hours: five posts agree it closes at 19:00, but three give 08:00 opening and two 08:30 — even within September 2026, one writer walked in right at 8 while another found the door shut and entered around 8:30. Last orders are usually given as 18:00 for food and 18:30 for drinks, mostly copied from listings. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Prices split: four posts call them reasonable for a hotel café, one says they are on the high side. Americano appears as ₩7,000 in two posts and ₩10,000 in one. The tangerine pastry is ₩5,000 in a March 2026 receipt post and written '5,5000' in May — a rise or a typo, we cannot tell. No post gives a per-person total.
  • Nobody described getting there by bus or other public transport; most visitors were already staying in the hotel.
  • Two phone numbers circulate: 0507-1424-0572 in three posts (one delivery post, two ranking lists) and 064-803-0320 in two. Nobody mentions whether reservations are taken.
