Namgyeong Eogomtang
남경어곰탕 Namgyeong carries the name of Namgyeong Mirak, the family's raw-fish restaurant opened in 1990, and eogomtang means a fish gomtang — a milky broth simmered from croaker (mineo).

A croaker-soup house on Yeonsam-ro 96 in Jeju City, about five minutes by car from the airport, on two floors. The milky eogomtang and the red eogaejang are 18,000 won a bowl, tilefish noodles (lunch only) 15,000 won, and sets with cold pork and braised fish run from 25,000 won (A) to 55,000 won (D) per person. It opens at 8 a.m., so many posts stopped for breakfast on the way to or from the airport; seven were family meals with parents or children. Sixteen posts describe the free potato salad you mash yourself with a little pestle. The family history (opened in 2024 by the Namgyeong Mirak family) is copied from the shop's own sign. We read 30 posts from 24 January to 19 October 2026; 24 actually ate here (3 about other places were set aside, and 3 — a gifted porridge, a ghost-written draft and a top-10 list — were not counted).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Opinions on fishiness split. Of thirteen posts that raised it, 6 found no fishy taste, 4 did and 3 did not settle. Most of the complaints are about a companion: a wife who took one spoonful and stopped, a friend who could not really eat. One writer was startled by the fish smell when the bowl arrived but finished it; another says it stays clean even when it cools. Several suggest adding the chopped hot pepper served on the side, one warning it can taste a little fishy without it. One of the four complaints is about the braised mackerel, not the soup.
- A free drink sits by the entrance or the counter. Five posts mention it: three say plum tea, two say kumquat tea.
- Four posts say the portions are large. Four adults who ordered four B sets left a lot; three men sharing soup and one fried fish still had leftovers. Ordering one set per head may be too much.
- You order at the table: six posts used a tablet at each table (one called it a kiosk).
2 more
- Families find it easy with children. Five posts mention high chairs (one adds baby tableware) and four went with a child; a regular writes that her baby starts mashing the potato salad first thing.
- Pregnant guests get a free bowl of eogomtang. Two posts actually received it (one pregnant writer, one sister-in-law at a family meal). One post adds that soldiers eat free too, but only as hearsay.

Parking
12 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 12 of 22 posts |
|---|
Fourteen posts mention parking; 12 parked there and 9 call the lot big. It is not the restaurant's alone, though: an October post describes a paid lot beside the building with one free hour, another says the lot is shared, and a third shares it with the Knotted doughnut shop opposite. The 42-space figure and registering your plate with staff come from copied information.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 3 of 22 posts |
|---|
We don't know about floors and stairs. Three posts mention a second floor and two used or photographed its private rooms, but none says whether you reach it by stairs or a lift.
No one says whether the entrance has a step or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That is unknown, not a no.
No one says where the toilet is. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one post's copied info block.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 25 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post arrived by bus; everyone drove. A bus stop 98 m away is mentioned only in a list post copying the map listing.
- No post waited. Two found no line, both at breakfast time; no one reports on lunch or dinner. Three posts booked ahead.
- Two posts say it isn't cheap; one says the 18,000-won soup is well worth it.
- Fifteen posts give the same opening hours — 08:00–21:00, break 15:00–17:00, last orders 14:20 and 20:00 — though mostly copied from listings. Five say it never closes; one February post says closed Wednesdays.
- Eight posts give the phone number 064-749-0055; one each gives 0507-1374-1359 and 064-713-0133. Three posts booked ahead and got a table.
- Seven posts from February to May 2026 repeat the same info block, 42 parking spaces, a 16-seat room upstairs, free soup for pregnant guests and a line about bringing parents, in the same order — they look like commissioned copy. One discloses sponsorship, one a free tasting, the rest say nothing. We counted what they ate, not the facility lists.
- What changed: fried pollack (eogangjeong) first appears as a new dish in May 2026 and was ordered again in October. The braised fish in the sets is Spanish mackerel in five posts and mackerel in five, with no clean split by date, so we can't say it changed; both October posts had mackerel.
