Ilpum Sundubu Yeonbukro Byeolgwan

일품순두부 연북로별관 Ilpum (一品) means 'first-rate', sundubu is soft-tofu stew, and byeolgwan means annex — this is the annex of the chain's Yeonbuk-ro branch, across the road from the main building.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A soft-tofu stew house on the second floor of 221 Yeonbuk-ro in Jeju City, above a seafood-stew restaurant. It is the annex of the Ilpum Sundubu Yeonbuk-ro branch across the road. Every tofu stew costs 13,000 won and comes with stone-pot rice, and ordering one gives you free use of a large self-serve bar in the middle of the room: namul, kimchi, soy-marinated crab, spicy pork, tteokbokki, japchae, salads, fruit, cookies and an instant-ramen machine. Eggs sit on every table, and many posts describe pouring water into the emptied stone pot to finish with scorched-rice soup. It now runs 24 hours with no closing day. We read 30 posts dated 17 April to 24 October 2026; 29 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You cannot use the buffet alone: seven posts say every diner must order a main, some quoting an 'age 8 and up' notice, and one notes the rule doesn't say how preschoolers are counted. Two posts relay a sign above the bar warning of a 5,000-won fee for leftover food — that is the shop's notice, not something a writer was charged.
  2. Lunch peak can mean a wait: one post waited about 15 minutes at 1 p.m., another saw a line forming before the lunch rush; two did not wait and two thought a wait was likely. A five-time visitor says 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. is the crush and mornings and evenings are quick. Seven posts note a row of waiting chairs at the entrance.
  3. Twelve posts call it good value and none call it expensive: every tofu stew is 13,000 won including the rice and the buffet. Four posts compare it with the main building, which is 1,000 won cheaper but has a smaller bar and no ramen machine.
  4. Five posts order from a tablet or kiosk at the table, then fill a plate at the bar while the stew cooks.
2 more
  1. Families are the largest group — eleven posts, eight with children — and three writers saw high chairs. Posts say the tteokbokki, cutlets and ramen kept children fed. Four posts are couples, two solo diners.
  2. Twelve posts describe a large room and nine call it clean, citing staff refilling dishes before they ran out at peak hour and wiping spills at once, and food still warm in the small hours. One mentions tables along big windows facing Yeonbuk-ro.

Posts saying you can park13 of 28 posts

There is a private lot: thirteen posts parked there and found it roomy, and three mention an attendant directing cars. One warns that around lunch it is hard to find a spot. Several say parking is easier here than at the main building.

Getting inside

Second floor11 of 28 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 11 (of 28 posts read)
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)

The dining room is upstairs: eleven posts describe passing the ground-floor seafood restaurant and going up to the second floor. One writes that there is no elevator, another that they took the stairs.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access; one post says there is no elevator and one took the stairs. This means no one reported it, not that it is absent.

No one described the restrooms from experience; one post's 'separate men's and women's toilets' is copied from the listing.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Hours have changed. An April 2026 post heard the annex had a break; a 21 May post copied a 15:00–17:00 break, and one writer arrived in the evening to find it closed for a break. A 30 May post phoned and was told there has been no break since 29 May, and all sixteen later posts say 24 hours. The same writer notes hours have shifted repeatedly since opening, so check before going.
  • Heat is disputed: three posts found it spicy (one meant the buffet curry), two ordered the spicy level and found it mild. One suggests seafood versions taste hotter than meat ones.
  • No one described getting there by bus; posts give it as about ten minutes by car from Jeju Airport and arrived by car. One notes that the crossing between the two buildings is not close, so walking across is awkward.
  • Five posts list the phone as 0507-1315-7272 and one as 064-712-7272. No one mentioned whether bookings are taken.
  • One post alone gives a price range of 11,000–13,000 won without saying which dish is cheaper; every other post says 13,000.
  • Only one post calls the staff friendly; another counted six staff constantly restocking, but most say nothing about service.
