Cheonbaengno Sikdang

천백로식당 Cheonbaengno is the 1100 Road, the mountain road that climbs from Nohyeong toward the 1100-meter highland of Hallasan; the restaurant sits at its foot, and sikdang simply means restaurant.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

A 24-hour restaurant on the corner of the Nohyeong intersection in Jeju City, where the 1100 Road begins its climb toward Hallasan. One big room holds both a meal side, serving hangover soups and set lunches, and a barbecue side with a butcher's fridge. Menus copied into the posts list pork belly and neck at 13,000 won per 200 g, black pork at 16,000 won, a braised-rib lunch set at 10,000 won and Korean-beef hangover soup at 9,000 won. You grill the meat yourself at the table and top up side dishes from a self-serve bar. We read 21 posts dated September 2025 to September 2026. Fifteen record an actual meal; two were about other places (a hotel, a buckwheat field) and four were only check-ins, list entries or a recruiting ad.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All 14 posts that talked about price called it cheap; none called it expensive. One family compared it with the 60,000-70,000 won per 600 g that black-pork places in Jeju usually charge, against 16,000 won per 200 g here. Another first assumed the menu prices were per 100 g. The family of four listed what they ordered (four portions of belly and neck, one of neck-cap, a stew and two rice bowls), and those prices add up to 69,000 won.
  2. Thirteen of the 15 meal posts went back to the self-serve bar for more side dishes, and two said there are two such bars. The posts name what they went back for: stir-fried garlic scapes in one, wood-ear mushroom salad in another, pan-fried ham several times over in a third. A solo diner turned down the usual side dishes and took only kimchi and garlic from the bar.
  3. Eleven posts said the room is large. One described separate meal and barbecue sections, and another thought the split keeps grill smoke away from people who only came for a meal. One noticed wide gaps between tables, and another saw tables already laid for a tour group. The claim that groups of up to 120 can book is something a post was told, so we did not rely on it.
  4. Posts disagree on how big the braised-rib set is. One said four portions arrived together and came to about two pieces each. Another said it was so filling the extra plate of boiled pork was unnecessary. On other dishes, one post found a single fried-rice order large, and another only said the meat seemed generous.

  1. Three posts called the pork thick-cut and one disagreed: a couple who ordered black-pork belly found it on the thin side and quick to cut. Four posts mentioned no off-smell, and four said the meat was juicy.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 15 posts

Of 10 posts that brought up parking, nine said they parked in the lot in front. One said you can turn in straight from the Nohyeong intersection, and another that you can reach it from either direction of Aejo-ro. The tenth only listed parking in an info box, so we did not count it.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Separate restrooms1 of 15 posts

No post described which floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs. The address says ground floor, but that is the registered listing. One post only noted that the building stands on a rise overlooking Aejo-ro and the 1100 Road.

No one described a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. Wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating appear in two posts, but both were copied from the restaurant's own listing, so we did not rely on them. One post only said the entrance is the door on the left.

Nobody said whether the toilets are inside the restaurant. One post said they are separate for men and women and in good condition.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post arrived by bus. Most came by car, and two said it is 15 minutes' drive from the airport. One cyclist stopped in on the way from Jeju port up to the 1100 highland. This does not mean the bus is impractical, only that no one wrote about it.
  • No post mentions waiting. One said the place was already busy with locals at 5:30 pm, and another went at 4 pm on Lunar New Year's Day. A waiting area appears only in a copied listing. That does not mean there is never a queue, only that no one reported one.
  • Many posts called the place good for work dinners and group outings, but that was based on the size of the room. No post recorded actually eating there with a group this time; one recalled a company lunch soon after the opening. For the meals themselves, two posts went with family, two with a partner, one with friends and one alone.
  • Fourteen posts agree on the opening hours: 24 hours, every day of the year. Nine of them copied this from an info box. One found it open early in the morning and another on the afternoon of Lunar New Year's Day. The set meals reportedly run at lunch only: one post was told so, and another copied 11:30 to 14:00.
  • Two phone numbers appear. Six posts gave 0507-1379-5206, which one identified as a Naver proxy number, and two gave 064-711-5204. On reservations, one post booked ahead and found the table already set when they arrived.
  • Five posts appeared within one week, 24 to 30 April 2026, all leading with value for money. Two of them use the same stock phrases: that even novice drivers need not worry, and that this was formerly the Chunsimine site. None disclose sponsorship, and only one says the writer paid. The points many posts agree on, the low prices and the self-serve bar, still hold without this cluster.
