Chef Jung Ho-young's udon house in Gyorae-ri, Jocheon, on the east side of Jeju. Bowls run from 9,000 won (plain kake udon) to 15,000 won (the three-bowl sammi set, yamakake), and most tables add a fried plate — prawn tempura or fried flatfish at 25,000 won, the whole Jeju hairtail at 34,000. Eleven of the 24 posts by people who ate here ordered the sammi set: yam, tempura and curry udon in three small bowls. Eight say you order at a kiosk by the door before being seated. We read 30 posts published 10–28 October 2026; 24 are from people who ate here (some visits date back to May and July 2026). One post about the Hapjeong branch in Seoul was set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to wait. Nineteen posts mention it, and the times they give are 15 minutes, 20, 20, 30, 40, an hour, an hour ten, 'an hour? an hour and a half?', over an hour and a half, two and a half hours, and three hours. One arrived at 1:30 pm on a Friday to 28 parties ahead; another, at 1 pm on a holiday weekend, drew number 258 with 103 parties ahead. One got there at 9:10 on a Sunday with three parties ahead and left at 10:40 with 76 waiting. You join through the Tablelines app's remote queue or the kiosk outside; two posts say the app opens at 9:30, and two say you must enter a confirmation code shown on the kiosk once you arrive. Three posts gave up and ate elsewhere.
- Once seated, food comes fast, two posts say — one timed it under ten minutes, another said a six-person order arrived very quickly.
- Ten posts say the bowls are huge and the portions large. Of the sammi set, posts put the three bowls at '1.5 to 1.7 servings'. One couple couldn't finish two bowls plus the hairtail; another found one bowl and one tempura plate right for two. One post felt the bowl was bigger than the serving and noted you can add noodles.
- Ten posts call the tempura crisp. All six posts that ordered the fried hairtail singled it out. One post found the chicken karaage short on crunch.

- Five posts say the seasoning is light — 'less salty', 'mild overall'. Some liked that; others missed a stronger broth.
- Eight posts say you order and pay at the kiosk by the entrance before being seated; menus are posted outside so you can decide while waiting. One post says extra orders weren't allowed afterwards.
- Ten posts describe a large room and nine an open kitchen you can watch; several mention wide gaps between tables. One notes a high ceiling, one sunlight through the windows. A party of six had to split into two tables of three — there was no large table.
- Eight posts came with children and five mention high chairs — brought to the table on request, or offered at the door. Two ordered the children's udon; one mentions baby tableware.

Parking

Nine posts say there is a private lot in front. Six call it large, but one says it isn't big for the crowds and one couldn't decide. At lunch one post had to double-park, another saw cars parked outside the lot at 1:30 on a Friday, and a third found it full by 10:40 on a Sunday.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

One post says the restaurant is on the ground floor of a red-brick building. The building has two storeys, but nobody says whether the upper floor is used for seating.
One post says the entrance is a ramp, easy for prams and wheelchairs; another wheeled a pram in. No one describes entering in a wheelchair, and nobody mentions steps or the layout inside.
One post says the indoor restroom was clean. Nobody mentions separate men's and women's rooms or an accessible toilet — that means we don't know, not that there isn't one.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Whether it's expensive is split: five posts say so (mostly the fried plates — 34,000 won for the hairtail, 170,000 won for six people), four say the portions or the name justify it. Listed prices also differ slightly between posts: kitsune udon at 11,000 or 12,000 won, roe cream udon at 14,000 or 15,000.
- Three posts found the food ordinary — one compared it to a department-store food court — and two say they won't return. Two others were on their third visit.
- No post arrived by bus; people drove or took taxis, and one puts it about 50 minutes by car from the airport. We can't say how practical public transport is.
- Two posts say you can't book a time — only join the queue. One repeats that the shop switched from reservations to queueing on 25 July 2024; that is hearsay and we haven't relied on it.
- Opening hours: twelve posts give 10:00–18:00 with last orders at 17:00, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; one gives 10:00–19:00 with a 15:00–16:00 break. Most of this is copied from listings, but all fourteen agree on the Tuesday–Wednesday closure.
- Phone: nine posts give 0507-1346-6263, two give 064-784-6262. Two posts indicate phone bookings aren't taken.
