Miyeongine Jocheon-jeom
미영이네 조천점 Miyeongine means 'Miyeong's place' — named after a person; this is the Jocheon branch of the Moseulpo original, run directly by the owner.
Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →
A directly run branch of Moseulpo's Miyeongine, right on Dongdong harbour in Sinchon-ri, Jocheon. It sells only mackerel: a sashimi-plus-soup set at 70,000 won (small) or 95,000 won (large, 3–4 people), and grilled mackerel at 15,000 won. You wrap the fish in laver with seasoned rice and a minari-onion-chili relish; a pale mackerel soup arrives near the end, with braised mackerel on the house. We read 30 posts from 7 August to 20 October 2026; 20 describe eating here. Four were about other places (the Moseulpo original, a neighbouring restaurant) and six were takeaway eaten at a hotel or second-hand accounts, so we did not count them.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The windows face the sea; eleven posts saw it from their table. Window seats go quickly around sunset — one diner waited for a sunset-side table and gave up, another got the last window seat on a September evening. One couple arrived after dark and saw nothing outside.
- Fourteen posts said the mackerel was not fishy and none said it was, including several by first-timers or people who normally avoid it. One post did find the freshness 'a little disappointing'. Four noted the thick cut.
- The soup is white but seven posts called it spicy — one fished the chilies out. One found it mild enough for people who avoid heat. Eight said it tastes of perilla seed while three said there is none in it, so ask if you have an allergy.
- Little waiting in what we read: five posts walked straight in — around noon on a weekday, around 4 pm, a weekday evening. One arrived at opening and found others already there. That weekends at lunch and weekday evenings are busy is something staff told a diner; we did not count it.
2 more
- Six posts called the owner and staff kind, and said why: they explain how to eat it, top up side dishes (three mention refills) and time the soup by watching how much fish is left. One table asked them to stop refilling until asked.
- Five posts found it generous: two people stuffed on a small, a small judged right for three, three people leaving a row of a large.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 20 posts read) |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 20 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 1 of 20 posts |
Only one post mentions floors: a single-storey white building. No one mentions a basement or upstairs seating.
Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair or pushchair access. That means we don't know, not that there is a problem.
Only one post says the toilet is inside and clean. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a copied listing, which we did not count.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-10-13 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One post came by bus: about an eight-minute walk from the Sinchon-ri stop. Others drove or walked from nearby lodging.
- Prices were the same from a June 2026 receipt through October: 70,000 won small, 95,000 won large. One post called it a bit pricey; another remembered a large costing about 70,000 won before — we cannot tell when, or whether that was the original branch, so we have not recorded a change.
- Thirteen visit posts give the same hours, 11:30–21:30, closed Thursdays, and eleven give last orders at 20:20 — mostly copied listings. Only one uncounted post mentions a break time.
- Seven posts list the phone as 0507-1375-5992. Reservations and waitlist via CatchTable come from the shop's notice and copied info. One post says takeaway should be phoned in about 30 minutes ahead.
