Korean

Gojipdol Ureok Hamdeok-jeom

고집돌우럭 함덕점 Ureok is Korean rockfish (dol-ureok, 'stone rockfish'); one post says Gojip plays on the Jeju Go family name and the word for stubbornness — a vow to keep the family taste unchanged.

A second-floor room facing Hamdeok Beach that serves a Jeju set table built around braised rockfish, with grilled tilefish, seaweed rice and conch seaweed soup. Only per-person sets are sold: 29,000–39,000 won at lunch, 38,000–68,000 won at dinner. We read 22 posts from 28 September to 20 October 2026; 17 describe a visit. Of those, 13 went with family and 11 brought children.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The seat is the point: eight posts describe the sea through the full-height windows, and two say every seat has a sea view. Window tables go early — two posts arriving around 10:30 found them full, one got the last at 10:40. Five posts note you cannot change seats once seated.
  2. Set up for small children: six posts got a free toddler meal, four mention a microwave for baby food, and three describe aprons, blankets, phone stands and stain remover at the counter. Two saw high chairs. One family with three children got only one kids' meal per table.
  3. Waits depend on timing. Two posts waited: about 30 minutes for nine people at 1:30 pm on a Friday, and a weekday 7 pm visit where the list closed right after them. Three walked straight in (a rainy Monday lunch, 6 pm, an early visit). One found no queue at 10:30 on a Sunday but four groups by 11:30. Two note the Catch Table pad at the door takes on-site sign-ups only.
  4. Five posts got a 2,000-won voucher at checkout for the gift shop on the third floor, and used it — tangerine chips for 1,000 won, sweets for the kids. Two mention a free hallabong juice for writing a review.

  1. Posts split four to two on heat: four call the braise moderately spicy, two say it is mild. One found it unremarkable for its reputation and would not return; three were repeat visits.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 4 (of 17 posts read)
Lift to the floor2 of 17 posts
Step-free access1 of 17 posts

The restaurant is on the second floor; two posts took the lift and two took the stairs.

Only one post mentions a wheelchair, and only as a trip-wide note that they chose wheelchair-accessible places. Nobody describes a step or ramp at the entrance — that means unknown, not absent. Two posts mention a lift.

No post says where the toilets are. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in one post's copied info block, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Seven posts call it pricey. Sets are per person, tables of up to four must order the same set, four posts note a two-person minimum, and three note one set per person aged 10 and over. Bills posted: 58,000 won for two at lunch, 76,000 for two at dinner, 174,000 for three at dinner.
  • No post arrived by bus. One car-free family walked from a nearby resort, and two more walked back to it after dinner. Whether it works by public transport is unknown.
  • No post went with friends: 13 went with family, one as a couple and one as a group of nine, so we know little beyond family meals.
  • Six posts give the same hours: daily 10:00–21:30, break 15:00–17:00, last orders 14:50 (lunch) and 20:20 (dinner); two of these are copied info blocks. Two note it may close early when ingredients run out.
  • Four posts list the phone as 0507-1353-6061, one as 064-722-1008. One post says dinner can be booked on Catch Table two weeks ahead, but nobody reports booking.
  • Five of the 22 posts are not visits; three are look-alike recommendation lists with only ratings and addresses, which we did not use.
