Noodle houseKorean

Jamae Guksu

자매국수 Jamae means sisters, so the name reads as Sisters' Noodles.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jamae Guksu is a pork-noodle house in its own building at 46 Hanggolnam-gil in Iho-dong, Jeju City, near Iho Tewoo Beach. Pork noodle soup and spicy mixed noodles are 10,000 won each, a large portion is 1,000 won more, boiled pork (dombe gogi) is 19,000 won small or 36,000 won large, and dumplings are 10,000 won. You order on a tablet in a big hall and fetch extra kimchi, water and plates from a self-service corner. It is about ten minutes by car from the airport, so many writers ate there on arrival or just before flying out. One visit post and two introductory posts say it moved here from the old noodle street. We read 30 posts dated September 2 to October 22, 2026; 21 of them record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Waiting is the main story here. Of the 21 meal posts, 13 say they queued and 2 walked straight in, one at a weekday lunch and one after 5 p.m. One writer got in after an hour's wait at lunch; another waited about 15 minutes because they arrived during the afternoon break. Places in line are handed out through the CatchTable app. One post got number 47 at 11:44 on a Monday, another was 20th at 8:40 a.m., and another counted around 60 groups waiting as they left. One writer stood in late-summer sun because you cannot wait inside until the app says to come in, and two posts say your turn is cancelled if you are not inside within four minutes of being called.
  2. Four posts describe an indoor waiting area. Writers said they sat there another three or five minutes after being called before getting a table. Two posts noted table numbers hung from the ceiling, which staff use to send you to your seat.
  3. Four posts came with children. Six mention the children's noodle bowl, five of them say it is free for kids up to 36 months, and one family actually got it. One post also noted several high chairs, a diaper-changing table in the restroom and child-size tableware at the self-service corner.
  4. Posts disagree on whether the mixed noodles are spicy: two say not at all, one says the heat builds until you reach for the broth, and one calls it mildly spicy. Three posts compared the sauce to jjolmyeon.
3 more
  1. Three posts said the bowls come with plenty of pork, one counting six or seven large slices. The large size costs 1,000 won more; one writer said it brings the noodles to about one and a half servings but the pork stays the same, seven slices on the soup and five on the mixed noodles.
  2. Of the posts that say who they came with, seven came with family, four alone, two as couples and one with a friend. All four solo diners ate without any trouble.
  3. Prices are the same in every post: 10,000 won for either noodle dish, 11,000 for a large, 19,000 or 36,000 won for small or large boiled pork, 10,000 for dumplings. One writer said the prices felt fair overall. Two bowls for two people comes to 20,000 won.

Parking

Posts saying you can park6 of 20 posts

Six meal posts mention a parking lot, and three call it large; one says a second lot sits further in past the stone wall. One writer said that despite its size it fills up quickly. Seven posts arrived by car, and one couple waited out an hour-long queue in their parked car.

Getting inside

Posts say it is a standalone building, but nobody says what floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether anyone came in with a wheelchair or stroller. Four posts came with children, but none mentions a stroller. That means nobody wrote about it, not that access is poor.

Nobody says whether the restroom is inside the dining area or separated by gender. One post mentions a diaper-changing table there, and another says the writer nursed her baby in the restroom.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-183 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The restaurant moved here. One meal post remembers the old noodle-street shop as having only a few tables, and two introductory posts also say it moved from the noodle street near Samseonghyeol. No post says when. All 21 meal posts are about the current shop at 46 Hanggolnam-gil. That same writer said the pork on the noodle soup used to be belly and is now shoulder; no other post mentions this.
  • Opening hours appear in eight meal posts and all agree: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., break 2:30 to 4:10 p.m., last order 5:50 p.m., closed Wednesdays. Every one of them copies the posted notice rather than reporting experience. One writer said calls from the queue start at 4 p.m., before the break officially ends.
  • Only one post arrived by bus, and it does not name a stop. Most of the rest came by car, and one by taxi. Complaints about 40-minute bus intervals referred to getting around Jeju in general, not to this restaurant.
  • Five posts give the same phone number, 064-746-2222. Nobody says whether it takes reservations by phone; the only system writers describe is the CatchTable remote queue. One post notes that groups of six or more may be split across tables and that each adult must order a dish.
  • The side dishes are kimchi and cubed radish kimchi. Opinions split: two posts loved the radish, one said the kimchi was not good, and one thought it tasted a bit store-bought.
  • We did not count seven introductory posts written without visiting. Three say so themselves (a trip plan, an information guide and a planning memo), and one says it used AI-generated images. We did not rely on the hours or parking details they copied.
