Heukdonhyang
흑돈향 Heukdonhyang reads as 'black-pork scent': heuk (black), don (pork), hyang (aroma) — fitting for a house that grills only Jeju black pork.

An evening-only Jeju black-pork house on Taepyeong-ro 58 in Hogeun-dong, Seogwipo, on the main road near the girls' high school. There is one meat on the menu: 600 g of neck and five-layer belly for 66,000 won, par-grilled by the owner and finished over a briquette fire at your table. Side dishes, cutlery and sauces come from a self-serve bar in the middle of the room, and people close with kimchi or soybean stew (7,000 won) or cold noodles. Many posts mention a pond and garden inside. We read 30 posts dated January 2025 to October 2026; one was about another restaurant and one was only an introduction, leaving 28 posts by people who ate here — mostly travellers who walked over from nearby guesthouses.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The owner par-grills the meat — 17 of the 28 posts say so. You are shown the raw cut, it goes to a grilling station to be trimmed and seared, and comes back already cut so you only need to turn it. One diner reckoned it arrives more than 80% cooked. Three posts found the par-grilling took a while; two said it came quickly.
- The first order is the 600 g platter. Posts disagree on the top-up unit: one says extra meat starts at 400 g, another says it comes in 100 g steps, and people did add 200 g and 300 g. Four posts note a minimum first order. A solo diner wrote that, seeing they were alone, the owner offered 400 g instead.
- Twelve posts call the owner couple kind, and they say exactly what was done: ice packs for guests who had walked over in midsummer, onion slivers brought out when they weren't on the self-serve bar, and asking families whether to leave the chilli out of the stew. Others got a free soft drink, and in winter one family was handed a bag of tangerines on the way out.
- There is a large car park right in front — seven posts saw it and called it big. Still, many diners left the car behind to drink and walked from a nearby guesthouse or took a taxi, and one post suggests driving or a taxi because the place is away from the town centre.
2 more
- Twelve posts describe a large room with well-spaced tables — round four-tops and bigger tables for groups; one counted more than ten. Inside there is a pond, stone walls and plants, and one post describes a small greenhouse garden next door to stroll through after eating.
- Four posts came with children and six with family. A child happily ferried dishes from the self-serve bar, three adults and two kids were full on 600 g, and two posts say the watermelon at the self-serve bar was a hit with children.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station

Getting inside
Nobody says which floor the dining room is on or whether there are steps; posts only describe the exterior as old and shabby, 'like an old corner shop'.
No one wrote from experience about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pram. 'Wheelchair-accessible entrance' appears in one post's copied info block, which we don't count.
Nobody says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant. One post found it clean; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a copied info block.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Two posts disagree on summer cooling: one from summer 2026 found the air conditioning weak and sweated through the meal, while one from September 2025 said the AC and fans were strong enough to weaken the grill fire.
- Most posts describe briquette (yeontan) fires, but one was pleased to find charcoal instead and another also wrote charcoal. We cannot tell from the posts whether this varies by time or table.
- Eleven posts give opening hours, all 5 pm to 10 pm with last orders at 9. Nine list Tuesday as the day off (one adds 'except public holidays') and two say open daily. Most of these are copied info blocks, so check before you go. There is no lunch service.
- Four posts give the same price, 66,000 won for 600 g, unchanged from 2025 to 2026. Opinions split: one found it a bit pricey, one called it good value, one said not cheap but justified. No post works out a per-person total with stew and drinks.
- Two posts list the phone number as 0507-1401-5115 and one as 010-8875-2261. 'Phone reservations accepted' appears only in a copied info block; one diner who called on the way was told to just come in.
- No post reports waiting. One came late in the evening to a quiet room, one was the first table around 6 pm on a weekday and saw a rush from 6:30, and one arrived right at the 5 pm opening. That means no one wrote about a queue, not that there never is one.
- No post describes getting here by bus. One recommends a car or taxi since it is outside the town centre; the rest walked five to twenty minutes from nearby lodgings or took a taxi.
