Butchers camp

부처스캠프 Bucheoseu Kaempeu The name is English, "Butcher's Camp": a premium Hanwoo butcher-grill set up like a campsite, with a garden fire pit and a tent that became the house bar.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Hanwoo beef grill at the entrance to Jungmun resort in Seogwipo, in a two-storey building with a big car park and a lawn garden. The core of it is staff grilling a 1++ Hanwoo sirloin platter for you in a cast-iron pan (the Butcher's Platter, 150 g at 62,000 won per person). Since March 2025 the renovated upstairs serves Hanwoo gomtang and ox-foot soup, and the garden tent has become a makgeolli bar called Yemoru; posts from Nov 2024 to Jan 2025 describe only the ground floor open, with upstairs under renovation. We read 20 posts dated Nov 2024 to Sep 2026: 3 had nothing to do with the place, 2 only copied or introduced it, and 15 describe a visit, all between Nov 2024 and June 2025.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You don't grill your own meat. Eight of the 15 visit posts say staff cooked it at the table, and five say they were asked how they wanted it done first; two describe staff cooking each diner's share to a different doneness. One notes the cuts go leanest first, and three had the closing doenjang rice cooked right in the grill pan. Three also mention wasabi blended with herbs such as basil or thyme.
  2. Parking doesn't come up as a problem. Ten posts say the car park is large, one calls it "parking on every side" and fine for a nervous new driver, and ten say they parked in the restaurant's own lot. No post complained about parking.
  3. Six posts booked ahead. Five from Nov 2024 to Jan 2025 found a handwritten note or welcome card on the table, and one from Nov 2024 says a Naver booking got you a free doenjang rice. These posts look like one promotional batch (see below), so we can't say whether that still holds.
  4. Seven posts found portions generous and one found them small. The generous ones are mostly about the soups (three big pieces of ox foot) and the doenjang rice; the one dissent says the 150 g-per-person platter was a little light for two.

Getting inside

Upstairs was under renovation in posts from Dec 2024 to Jan 2025 and reopened for the soups in March 2025. Three posts ate soup upstairs; one (April 2025) says the opposite, grill upstairs and soup downstairs. One post reaches the second floor by an outside staircase beside the building, and another notes a high ceiling and a semi-separate area for groups of eight or more.

The restaurant is on the ground and first floors. Only one post mentions a basement level, and that is the Yemoru makgeolli bar down a flight of stairs, which earlier posts describe as a tent in the garden. No post puts the restaurant itself underground.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means we don't know, not that it's a problem. One post climbs an outside staircase to the second floor; none mentions a lift.

The toilets are described differently over time. A December 2024 post says they are outside, round the side of the building, separated by sex; a March 2025 post says the renovated second floor has one inside. We don't know whether ground-floor diners still have to step outside.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 17 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post arrived by bus or public transport. One says they drove, and the "five minutes from Jungmun" line is by car.
  • No post mentions queuing or waiting. Six of the visits were booked, one arrived near closing to find just one other table, and two note a small waiting area upstairs.
  • Nearly every post calls it a good date spot, but none says the writer went as a couple. The only ones that say who they went with are four with family and one with a friend.
  • Opening hours: ten posts from Nov 2024 to Mar 2025 all give 10:00-22:00 with a 15:00-17:00 break and last orders at 21:00, but split on the closing day — every Tuesday (four) versus alternate Tuesdays (two). One April 2025 post gives 10:00-04:00 daily with Tuesdays opening at 17:00, and an August 2025 copied listing shows both sets of hours. The Yemoru bar runs 8 pm to 4 am. Check before you go.
  • Prices noted: platter 62,000 won per person (Nov 2024 to Jan 2025), doenjang rice 15,000, house wine 6,000 a glass. A menu copied in August 2025 lists the sirloin platter at 65,000, so it may have gone up. Nobody gave the soup prices. One post found it expensive, one good value, and one pricey but fair; corkage was 30,000 won a bottle.
  • Ten posts give the phone number as 0507-1471-5954; one copied listing gives 064-738-5951. One post says it booked via Naver and Catchtable.
  • Most visit posts come from promotional batches. Seven from Nov 2024 to Jan 2025 share the same Instagram link, keywords and handwritten-note story, and only one discloses sponsorship; the three March 2025 soup-launch posts share the same keyword and opening discount and none discloses anything. Only one post says the writer paid. Claims like "1++ MB8-9" and a "Michelin-trained manager" are the house's own words and we haven't relied on them.
