Dodon is an aged black-pork grill house across the road from Hyeopjae Beach (354 Hallim-ro, Hallim-eup, Jeju City). The menu lists the Dodon platter (400 g neck, 200 g five-layer belly, 200 g gabrisal — 800 g) at 89,000 won and a 600 g geun of aged pork at 66,000 won; sides are seafood doenjang stew at 9,000, godagobap fried rice at 8,000 and truffle-oil Chapagetti at 7,000. Two pairs of diners reported bills of 65,000 won and 88,500 won (the latter with two sides and drinks). Staff grill everything, and most people came for dinner before or after a walk on the beach. What sets it apart
- Staff do all the grilling, start to finish: 19 of the 26 dining posts say so and none say otherwise. Several mention being told to try the neck with salt first, and the belly skin being cut off and crisped separately for dipping in soybean powder. Two posts, though, found that with the whole order on the grill at once, the meat left on the grill dried out — one advises moving it to your plate once it is done.
- Ten posts describe the pork as cut thick; one notes it takes a while to cook through because of it.
- There is a queue at dinner. Of the 11 posts that mention waiting, 6 waited or saw a line form. Only one gives a time: about 30 minutes after 9 p.m. Others arrived around 6:30 or 7 p.m., sat straight down and watched a queue build behind them; one that came just after 4 p.m. found a single party ahead. Getting inside
The address says ground floor, but no post describes the floor or any steps from experience.
No post says whether there is a step at the door or describes getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One info box says 'wheelchair accessible', but it is copied, so we did not count it. Two posts came with children and two saw high chairs.
Not one post mentions the toilets — which means nobody wrote about them, not that there are none.

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on portions split two to two: two posts found it plenty (one left meat over), two found it short — the 800 g platter for three women, and gabrisal plus a half-geun for two.
- On price it is one against one: one post felt 9,000 won was steep for the seafood stew, another said the black pork was a bit cheaper than elsewhere.
- Whether you can see the sea is disputed. One post (a sponsored one) mentions a glass frontage facing the water, and a few saw the sunset or Biyangdo through the windows, but another says the car park and sea wall block the beach — 'no ocean view'. One mentions folding doors that open up in good weather.
- Opening hours appear to have changed. Two posts up to August 2026 list 12:00–23:00 daily, and one visitor in late July noted Dodon closed at 11 p.m. when its neighbours closed at 10. From 4 September posts list 11:00–22:00 daily, with last order given as 21:20 (five posts) or 21:30 (two). One post from 23 September still repeats 12:00–23:00. All of these are copied from info boxes. One visitor found the door shut on 11 September with no posted break time; nobody says whether there is a mid-day break.
- No post arrived by bus; a listing post merely copies the registered note that it is a five-minute walk from the Hyeopjae Beach stop. One family walked about five minutes from their nearby resort.
- One post discloses sponsorship, and a few borrow the house's own wording ('grilling service', 'professional server'). Claims such as 'grade-1 sows', '360 hours of cold ageing' and 'five-year-old country doenjang' are the restaurant's own and we did not rely on them. Even table counts differ: one post says about 20, another about 8 round tables.
