Cheommok is an evening drinking spot at 25 Sanji-ro, Geonip-dong, Jeju City, between Dongmun Market and the Sanjicheon stream. Bar seats wrap a central open kitchen, with tables around the edge. The two most-ordered dishes, nine posts each, are a platter of three aged fish (50,000 won in three posts) and flatfish salt gimbap (28,000 won in February 2026, 30,000 won from June); beef jeon, tteokbokki and charcoal-grilled pork ribs come alongside Hallasan soju, highballs and wine. We read 30 posts dated 7 December 2025 to 15 October 2026. Five were about other places and set aside, two only mentioned stopping by, and we counted from the 23 that describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There are both bar seats and tables. Of the thirteen posts that describe seating, ten mention both, and none say it is bar-only. One counts three round tables for four to six plus two two-tops; another describes an L-shaped counter for about ten and around four tables. One post calls the counter L-shaped, two call it U-shaped.
  2. Eight posts mention the open kitchen: from the bar you watch the owner slice fish and work the charcoal grill, and one writer said seeing the fish cut in front of them made them trust it.
  3. Thirteen posts say a free starter arrives when you sit down: carrot and cucumber (sometimes celery) sticks with ssamjang. One warns the ssamjang is sprinkled with crushed peanuts, so mention any allergy. Separately, six posts got complimentary sushi from the owner, one of them through a review event.
  4. Six posts call the staff friendly. One late-night visitor, alone with a companion in the room, says they explained the menu, suggested how to pair dishes and checked in through the meal.

Parking

3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 22 posts

Three posts say there is no dedicated parking, and none say otherwise from experience. Three posts repeat that the Sanjitmul public lot opposite is free after 10 pm and the Buksugu lot after 8 pm, but that is copied information and we did not count it.

Getting inside

Toilet inside4 of 22 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 22 posts

No post describes the floor from experience; the address says ground floor. One post mentions going up to the second floor, but that contradicts the address and every other post, so we didn't count it.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — not that there isn't access, just that nobody wrote about it. Posts note the front windows and doors are opened wide in warm weather.

Four posts say the toilet is inside the shop, and two of them say it is separated by gender. A winter post was glad it was indoors and warm; another stressed how clean it was.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: three posts call it expensive, four say it isn't, two don't conclude. The four posts up to 2 September 2026 say it is not expensive and the three from 24 September say it is; we can't tell from the posts whether prices rose in between. One writer found the food cheap but the drinks pricey. Known changes: flatfish salt gimbap went from 28,000 won (February 2026) to 30,000 won (from June); draft beer was Kirin at 10,000 won in December 2025 and February 2026, and Terra at 6,000 won in October 2026. One post gives a full bill: 92,000 won for two — the sashimi, the gimbap and two draft beers.
  • Only one post mentions a wait — on a festival night at Sanjicheon, when plenty of people left for lack of seats. Another arrived at 6:30 to free seats and saw it fill up after 7. We don't know whether there is usually a queue.
  • Four posts found it quiet; one, written on a festival night, found it rowdier than expected.
  • No one describes arriving by bus. One post says it is about a ten-minute walk from Dongmun Market, and another only guesses which bus stops might work.
  • Sixteen posts give the same opening hours, 6 pm to 2 am with last orders at 1 am, though mostly copied from listings. Closing days disagree: posts from February and July 2026 say no day off, two from September and October say closed Wednesdays (both copied blocks), and a 7 October post says Monday through Sunday — so we can't tell whether it changed. One post felt the place winding down soon after midnight on a Friday.
  • Three posts give the phone number as 010-2979-4129; one gives 0507-1345-4129. One post went for a work dinner booked in advance.
  • Claims that chef Jang Jin-woo opened it, that the owner also runs the nearby Popeye pub, and that the kitchen cook was brought in from Jeolla are hearsay; we did not rely on them.
