Jeju Gomjip
제주곰집 Gomjip means 'bear house' (gom is bear, jip is house); none of the posts explain why the place is called that.

A big standalone Jeju black-pork grill house at 733 Ieodo-ro, Gangjeong-dong, Seogwipo, within walking distance of the Kensington Resort. The pork is pre-grilled over coal briquettes, then staff finish it at your table while anchovy sauce bubbles in the middle of the grill. The most-ordered set is belly plus neck for two, 500 g for 58,000 won; groups of three took the 99,000-won mixed platter. Sides are refilled at a self-serve bar, and the house runs a free shuttle to nearby resorts that four posts used. We read 30 posts from 22 May 2025 to 19 October 2026; 26 record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You don't grill your own meat. Of the 26 visit posts, 19 say staff or the owner cooked at the table and 16 say the pork arrived pre-grilled over briquettes. Four posts were shown the raw meat before it went to be pre-grilled. Posts repeatedly describe being told to try the neck first with salt, then anchovy sauce, then pickled perilla, and two say the last batch of belly was dipped in a house marinade and grilled like bulgogi.
- Because of the pre-grilling, the meat takes a while. Three posts said so, one put it at about 15 minutes, and one advised ordering extra meat before the first round runs out.
- Sides come from a self-serve bar: 14 posts went back for more. Bracken is the most-mentioned item (13 posts), often grilled alongside the pork, and one post refilled it three times; several refilled the cabbage with sweet-sour dressing. Two noted every tray at the bar is lidded. One September 2026 post found the bracken sour and close to spoiling.
- Six posts came with children and five mention high chairs. One saw baby spoons and forks at the self-serve bar, another a microwave for warming baby food, and one says staff cut the meat small for the kids.
2 more
- Five posts were written by repeat customers, one calling it their regular black-pork spot. One post found it nothing special but appreciated not having to grill.
- Two posts from September 2026 saw Chinese visitors, and one noticed the owner explaining in Chinese how to eat the grilled pork.

Parking

Parking was never a problem: 10 posts used the large private lot, and three gave its size, about 20 cars and room for tour buses. For those who want to drink, the free shuttle from nearby resorts and guesthouses was used both ways in one post.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

No post says which floor the dining room is on or whether there are steps; they only call it a standalone building. We don't know.
Nobody describes the entrance step or wheelchair access. One post mentions accessible parking bays and another walked over pushing a stroller, but neither says how they got in.
Only one post mentions the toilets: inside the restaurant, separate for men and women, and clean. That post was paid for.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Waits vary. One post waited a little around 8 pm in November 2025; three walked straight in (two on weekend evenings, one mid-afternoon), one of them with a Naver booking. Three posts booked in all. A party of six arriving unbooked at about 6:20 pm had to split across two tables.
- No one came by bus. Posts walked about 8 minutes from the Kensington Resort or took the shuttle. One listicle gives bus numbers, but everything else in it is wrong, so we ignored it. One post warns the road from the resort is quite dark at night.
- Most posts came with family (11). The only friends' outing is a promotional post by a photo-tour company, and one post came as a couple.
- Opening hours are all copied from listings and changed over time. Four posts up to 8 September 2025 give 11:00–23:00 with last orders at 21:50; seven from 29 September 2025 give 11:00–22:00 daily (last orders 21:30 in the five that say). One December 2025 post says 22:30. Seven 2025 posts list a fortnightly Wednesday closure; one September 2026 post says every Thursday. Check before going.
- The core set hasn't changed price: belly plus neck for two, 58,000 won, from June 2025 to September 2026. The kimchi stew varies: 9,000 won at lunch (Sept 2025), 10,000 won (Dec 2025), 7,000 won in two September 2026 posts. A family of four paid 124,000 won for the mixed platter, stew, rice and drinks. Two posts called it reasonably priced; one thought the seafood platter poor value.
- Seven posts give the phone number 0507-1305-6002; two (one a city notice) give 064-739-6002. Three posts booked through Naver.
- We couldn't confirm any move. One September 2026 post had heard the restaurant recently relocated, another remembered it before a remodel, and a third recalled only neck cuts being sold. Every post since May 2025 describes the current large building at 733 Ieodo-ro, so any change came before that.
- Some posts are promotional: one discloses payment and one was written after a sponsored review obligation. Two clip-challenge posts published the same day share the same order and phrases and disclose nothing. Claims about Jeju pork certification, HACCP and aging are the restaurant's own wording, and we did not count them.
