IL CAMPO

일캄포 Ilkampo Il campo is Italian for 'the field' — a nod to the Piazza del Campo of Siena, the Italian city the resort is modelled on; the pool square outside is called Campo Plaza.

A buffet restaurant on the GL level of The Siena Resort in Gangjeong-dong, Seogwipo, right beside the pool. Mornings it serves a breakfast buffet (55,000 won for adults); evenings a reservation-only seafood buffet (195,000 won, unlimited wine 30,000 extra). Most diners are hotel guests eating on a package. Posts up to September 2025 give the dinner as 165,000 won with wine included. We read 30 posts from November 2024 to October 2026: 21 from people who ate here, 7 resort overviews, and 2 about other places.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Dinner is booked ahead. Ten posts say they reserved; one notes every seat was taken within ten minutes of opening, and one couple could not switch their dinner here from La Stube because it was already full. Two posts say breakfast needs no booking — you just turn up within the hours.
  2. Most say the room is not large: seven posts call it cramped, two call it roomy. Phrases include tables set fairly close together and a room that felt a bit small; one of the two 'roomy' posts walked in at opening when nobody else was there yet. Posts mention many four- and six-seat tables and sofa seating, and three say the chairs are comfortable.
  3. Breakfast gets busy around 9. One post arrived about 9, found every table taken and waited roughly 15 minutes; another came around 8:30 and walked straight in. One found it fairly full at 8 on a Sunday, another was sent to La Stube for the same buffet when it overflowed, and one arriving at 7:10 found only two other groups.
  4. Families with small children are common. Four posts mention high chairs (two by the same writer), one adding that staff brought a high chair and disposable bib at once. Three say they came in with a stroller, and children's cutlery and cups are set out. Six posts say the staff were kind.

Getting inside

Step-free access3 of 20 posts

Posts disagree on the floor. The registered address says B2; most posts say 'GL', three say ground floor and four say B1. The resort sits on a slope and this level opens straight onto the pool, so it does not seem to feel like a basement, but no one described taking stairs or a lift to reach it.

Three posts went in with a stroller, but nobody said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair can get in. That is unknown, not a no.

None of the diners said whether there is a toilet inside or whether it is gender-separated; one pool post merely mentions using the toilet next to Il Campo.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one came by public transport; most diners were staying at the resort and drove a rental car. The airport limousine route (bus 800 to the agricultural research institute stop) appears only as copied resort information.
  • Prices depend on when. Dinner: 165,000 won adults / 80,000 children with wine included in posts to September 2025; 195,000 / 100,000 with wine 30,000 extra from November 2025. Children's breakfast went from 25,000 won (to January 2026) to 35,000 (from June 2026). Two posts found the full price steep; most give the pre-booked guest discount as 10%, one as 20%.
  • Hours: ten posts agree breakfast runs 07:00–10:30 with last entry at 10:00. Dinner started at 6 pm in posts from November 2024 and April 2025; from summer 2025 it runs in two seatings, 17:30–19:20 and 19:40–22:00, and 2026 posts have the second seating ending at 21:30. Most dinner times are copied from the resort's notices.
  • Five posts from December 2024 to January 2026 drank fresh-pressed orange juice at breakfast, but an autumn 2026 post was told by staff it had been dropped about a year earlier because the machine kept breaking. That timing does not match the earlier posts, so we only say it disappeared sometime in 2026.
  • Phone and booking: five posts give 064-735-7620 for dinner reservations, one gives 0507-1315-7620. Guests booked through the front desk or a pre-arrival text; copied notices say book by 9 pm the day before, no same-day cancellations. Whether non-guests can eat here is either unstated or described as guests only.
  • Five writers posted more than once (one three times, four twice), and one of them repeats the same sentences about strollers and high chairs in both posts. We counted each post separately, so some counts above include the same person twice.
