Korean

Annyeong Jeonbok

안녕전복 Annyeong is the everyday Korean hello (and goodbye) and jeonbok means abalone, so the name reads as "Hello, Abalone."

Compiled from 23 blog posts read in fullSources →

Annyeong Jeonbok is an abalone house in a stand-alone building on Oiljang-junggil, right beside the Jeju Airport runway. It serves abalone porridge, cold abalone mulhoe and avocado-abalone rice. Posts list the porridge and the avocado rice at 16,000 won, the mulhoe at 18,000 won and the extra-abalone porridge at 28,000 won. Five posts say you order and pay first on a tablet at each table. Most people came straight from picking up a rental car, or stopped for a last meal before a flight. We read 25 posts dated 29 July to 14 October 2026; 23 of them record an actual meal. One post says the restaurant moved here from a cramped earlier site.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You watch planes take off and land while you eat. Ten posts mention the floor-to-ceiling windows or a window seat. One post points out that the left-hand windows face the runway and the right-hand ones face the car park. Many people went out onto the front lawn after the meal to photograph planes, and one noted the wind out there was strong.
  2. Fourteen posts call the room spacious. They mention wide gaps between tables, enough for a family with two children; a party of five noted the high ceiling and brass side plates and spoons rather than plastic.
  3. Four posts waited and one walked straight in. One waited about 20 minutes, another found a short line even in the 9 a.m. hour, and a third got in at 9 on a Friday but saw a queue by 10. A Tuesday 11 a.m. visit had no wait. Three posts describe a waiting room or benches by the entrance; in one, a staff member wrote their name on the list for them.
  4. Six posts mention a wall of celebrity autographs by the entrance or opposite the counter. One family booked after seeing a YouTuber's video.
3 more
  1. Seven posts came with children and four mention high chairs. One parent thinned the porridge with a little water for a 21-month-old. Another says children's cutlery is at the self-service bar.
  2. Nine posts say the abalone portions were generous. Two sisters shared a one-person set and were full; another felt the mulhoe held more than the two abalone listed. Four posts noted no fishy smell.
  3. Two posts arrived by bus. One walked about ten minutes from the stop and found the way rough going; a bus-stop note in another post is copied listing info. Almost everyone else drove, mostly in rental cars.

Parking

Posts saying you can park12 of 23 posts

Twelve posts say parking was easy. Two add that there is more space further in or behind the building when the front lot is full. One post warns that the access road is narrow; another says to look for the restaurant's signs on utility poles at the turn-off.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

2 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No one described the floor level or any stairs. All we have is '1st floor' in the address and the description of a stand-alone building.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That doesn't mean there is a problem; it means nobody said.

No one said whether the toilet is inside the dining room. One post called it modern and clean; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a copied listing.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Not everyone was impressed by the taste. One post called it 'just healthy-tasting' with disappointing side dishes, and another said it left no strong impression. The side dishes are kkakdugi, stir-fried fish cake and pickled cabbage (white kimchi in one post), and one post found them mild.
  • One regular who visited both before and after the move says the old place was so cramped they ate with shoulders hunched. No post gives the old address or when the move happened, and all 25 posts we read describe the current site.
  • Some posts read like commissioned copy. One discloses a sponsored review-platform visit, three repeat the same lines about abalone cleaned to order and no frozen ingredients, and one still carries a pasted review-count widget. Six posts say they paid their own way. One mentions a free drink for writing a receipt review. We did not count the restaurant's own claims about its ingredients.
  • The listed prices agree across posts, but opinions on value split: one found it on the pricey side, one called it reasonable for a tourist area, and one said it may seem expensive but the amount of abalone makes up for it. Nobody gave prices for the butter-grilled abalone or the sets.
  • Twelve posts give the same hours: 08:40 to 19:00, last order 18:10, closed Thursdays. Three add takeout-only from 18:30. Nearly all of this is copied from listings rather than checked on the spot. One post ate at 3 p.m. without hitting a break.
  • Three posts give the phone number 0507-1340-4716; one list post gives 064-751-4716 for reservations. Copied listing blocks say you can book on Naver and that groups of eight or more should call. Two posts actually booked ahead.
