Raw fish

Namgyeong Mirak

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

A two-storey wild-fish sashimi house at 190-7 Sagyenam-ro, Andeok, facing Sanbangsan and the Sagye coast. Many posts describe picking the fish from the ground-floor tanks and eating upstairs. Grouper and red-spotted grouper run 280,000 won per kg, striped beakfish 270,000 won, red sea bream 160,000 won, and the price covers a long run of extras: side dishes with raw hairtail, the special cuts, abalone, octopus, grilled fish, braised mackerel with radish greens, and a milky seaweed fish soup (or a spicy one). Reported bills: 550,000 won for five adults and 2 kg, about 900,000 won for eight and 3 kg, 434,000 won for 1.5 kg of grouper with drinks, and over 300,000 won for three adults. We read 30 posts dated 30 July to 27 October 2026; 18 are records of an actual meal, the rest are TV-show recaps and listicles.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a book-ahead place: 16 of the 18 meal posts mention a reservation, made four weeks, four days, or months ahead (for a seven-person private room). One says you need two or three days to get a sea-view seat upstairs; the three same-day bookings were seated downstairs or beside the windows. The one walk-in got a table only because another party had just cancelled.
  2. You can bring your own bottle: six posts mention corkage, five of them saying the first bottle is free; one simply wrote that there was no corkage fee and brought champagne. One notes it applies only to sake, whisky and wine, and that staff supplied an ice bucket and glasses.
  3. Five visitors saw the photos of former presidents and other public figures along the stairs and walls. Mentions of the TV appearance are hearsay and were not counted.

Getting inside

Second floor11 of 18 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 18 posts read)
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 18 posts read)

Most meals are upstairs: 11 posts describe second-floor seating, reached by stairs after passing the ground-floor tanks. Two ate on the ground floor, both after late or same-day bookings, one in a back room. Nobody mentions a basement, and five describe entering at street level. Three posts say you take your shoes off upstairs.

Only one post describes access: strollers are allowed, but there is no elevator so you carry them up to the second floor, and there is no changing table. Nobody mentions an entrance step or wheelchair access.

No one wrote about the restroom — where it is or whether it is split by gender. That is unknown, not absent.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 11 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-08-212 posts in one day
2026-08-042 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Portions split opinion: three posts found the spread generous, one said 2 kg was not much for four people.
  • Nobody describes arriving by bus; three drove, and one notes the restaurant sits down a lane marked by a sign at its mouth.
  • No one reports queuing; seats are taken by reservation, so the complaint is how hard booking is. One post found the room fairly full at 6 p.m. on a Friday.
  • Grouper is seasonal: three posts from August to early September found none and ate striped beakfish instead, while those from late September on got grouper. Several suggest phoning to ask what fish and sizes are in that day.
  • Fish is priced by weight; reported bills ran from a little over 300,000 won to about 900,000 won depending on headcount and kilos, and ten posts called it expensive. One October post says grouper, red-spotted grouper and striped beakfish each rose by 30,000 won, but every post from July to October gives the same per-kg prices, so that increase seems to predate our window.
  • Nine meal posts give the same hours: 11:30 to 21:00 with a 15:00–17:00 break, closed Tuesdays; five list last orders at 13:10 and 19:10. Most of these are copied information blocks rather than times the visitors checked.
  • Several posts give the phone number 064-794-0055, and most booked by phone; one notes you can reserve a table but not a particular fish.
  • Eleven of the 30 posts are recaps of the TV show's eighth episode or listicles that repeat the same lines about a 1.4-million-won, 5.5 kg grouper without any meal of their own; we did not count them. One post about the neighbouring Jinmi Myeongga was set aside.
