Jeju Chogajip, on Hwasun-haean-ro in Andeok, serves seafood hotpot in a basalt-walled house with a thatched roof. The signature is a hotpot of live abalone and live octopus — 78,000 won for two in 2025 posts — with pot rice ordered separately at 3,000 won. At lunch there's a set built around three abalone dishes for 25,000 won a head. From August 2026 the grilled mackerel that came with the hotpot was replaced by a water-dropwort pancake. We read 30 posts from December 2024 to September 2026; 25 describe a meal there. Two were about a similarly named restaurant nearby and were set aside. Five of the 25 disclose sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- They do all the prep at your table. Fifteen of the 25 visit posts say that once the hotpot boiled, the owner or staff dropped in the live octopus and cut up the abalone and octopus for them, start to finish. One was asked whether they wanted the octopus head in; another warns to call the owner for the head, since cutting it yourself can burst the ink.
- Seven posts came with children. Four saw high chairs, and two were given child-sized tableware. Three ordered grilled mackerel separately for the kids in case the hotpot was too spicy. Opinions on heat differ: one post said a first-grader ate it fine, another assumed it was too spicy for children.
- Six posts say the seasoning is light, neither salty nor bland. Nearly every post repeats that the kitchen uses no MSG, but that is the house's own claim, so we don't count it.
- The photo-review reward changed. Three posts from December 2024 to June 2025 say a review got you free abalone pot rice; three from March–April 2026 say it was a plate of water-dropwort pancake, limited to the first three tables a day.

Parking
10 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Every post that mentions parking found it easy. Fifteen posts bring it up and ten describe parking there themselves — some in the lot beside the building, some on the road shoulder out front. One guessed the inner lot holds only a few cars; nobody counted spaces.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 24 posts |
|---|
No post says what floor it's on or mentions stairs. Posts describe a standalone thatched building, but none describes the way in.
No visit post mentions an entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One non-visit post copies a listing claim of wheelchair access to the entrance, seating and restroom; we don't count it.
Only one post mentions the restroom: on the group-seating side, and clean. Separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in copied listing info, so we can't confirm it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The hotpot set changed in August 2026. Posts up to July list abalone steak and grilled mackerel with it; three posts from August on say a water-dropwort pancake replaced the mackerel.
- Two posts say this place used to be called Sanbangsan Chogajip and reopened under its current name. A different restaurant called Sanbangsan Chogajip now operates nearby on Sagye-ro; we set aside two posts about it. One post notes that many diners go there by mistake.
- Prices come mostly from 2025 posts. The 78,000-won two-person hotpot appears in four posts (March, June, August and December 2025); no 2026 post gives it. The three-to-four-person hotpot at about 100,000 won (July 2026) and the 25,000-won lunch set (2026) are recorded. No post called it expensive; two said it was generous for the price.
- All 20 posts that give opening hours say 11:00–21:00, and 18 say closed Tuesdays — mostly copied from listing info. The midday break is unclear: one December 2024 post lists a 15:00–17:00 break, while a July 2026 post thought there was none. No post gives a last-order time.
- Eight posts give the phone number 0507-1378-4537; one gives 010-5139-4537 and one 064-792-4537. One post booked through Naver, and another phoned just before closing to order ahead.
- No post reports a wait. One went early and found it quiet; a few came at off-peak times like mid-afternoon or just before closing. Nobody describes peak lunch or dinner, so we don't know — that's not the same as no wait. One post notes the garden gives waiting diners room.
- No post arrived by bus or other public transport. Three say they drove — 10 to 15 minutes from Shinhwa World, 7 from the Sanbangsan hot springs — and most of the rest were on driving trips.
