Chunsimine

춘심이네 Chunsimine means 'Chunsim's place' — Chunsim reads as a Korean given name, and the suffix -ine marks someone's household.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

Chunsimine is a hairtail restaurant in Changcheon-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo. A whole hairtail close to a metre long is grilled and brought to the table, where staff debone it for you. The set of grilled fish plus boneless braised hairtail costs 89,000 won for two, 119,000 for three and 149,000 for four; the grill alone for four is 158,000. Seaweed soup, rice and side dishes such as soy-marinated abalone, japchae and pancakes come with it. We read 30 posts dated 23 September to 23 October 2026; 12 describe an actual meal. We set aside 8 that were about a different shop with the same name (a rice-cake shop in Jeju City) or only linked here, and did not count 10 list or round-up posts.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff debone the fish at your table. Eleven of the 12 visits mention it. Several call it a 'deboning show'; one timed it at about a minute, another says the owner sang 'Baby Shark' and shouted 'hairtail, departing!' while doing it. Several also say staff take a family photo before the deboning starts.
  2. Six visits describe the dining room as large; one was told it seats up to 150, with mostly four-person and larger tables. Two posts mention an upper floor, one of them noting that only the ground floor seemed to be in use.
  3. Waiting varies. Two visits waited — one for about ten minutes behind a couple of groups — and two went after the lunch peak and walked straight in. Two posts mention a separate waiting area inside the entrance with colourful sofas.
  4. It is not a quiet room. Two visits found it loud — one sat near a foreign tour group whose noise 'cut through noise-cancelling headphones', the other says evenings are rowdy and recommends lunch. The first also said the food was slow to arrive.
3 more
  1. Three visits ordered on a tablet at the table and could choose how well done and how salted the fish was. Three also mention a self-service bar in the middle of the room for extra side dishes.
  2. The boneless braised hairtail is described as sweet with some heat — 'gently sweet and spicy', 'like tteokbokki sauce'. Three visits say so; one of them also found it too salty.
  3. Family meals dominate: 8 visits went with family, 4 with children. One parent says six-year-old twins filled up on the soup and side dishes; another noted high chairs.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 12 posts

We don't know about floors or steps: no visitor described the entrance level. The '1st floor' in the address is copied, not observed.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance. One visitor thought the wide interior would suit wheelchair users, but nobody actually went in with a wheelchair or stroller.

No one said where the toilets are. One post copied the listing's 'separate men's and women's toilets', which we did not count.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-232 posts in one day
2026-10-163 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on the size of the fish differ: three visits found it big and meaty, one found it 'thinner than expected'.
  • It is not cheap. Two visits called it expensive — one family of eight spent over 300,000 won. In the set, a meal works out to roughly 37,000–45,000 won per person. One more post mentioned the price without saying whether it was high.
  • Some come back and some swear off it. Three visits were repeat trips — yearly, or since the writer's dating days — while two said they would not return; one of those was a long-time regular calling it quits.
  • Nobody described getting here by bus; one visitor only guessed that public transport would be hard. That means no one wrote about it, not that there is no bus.
  • Opening hours differ between posts. Four September posts agree on 10:30–21:00 with last orders at 20:20, but October posts give 11:00–21:00 with a 16:00–17:00 break, 11:00–20:00, or closed Thursdays with a 15:00–17:00 break. All are copied from listings, so we cannot tell whether the hours recently changed — check before you go.
  • Several posts copy the same phone number, 0507-1420-4018. Claims that it takes Naver reservations and CatchTable queueing are copied from listings and not counted; one visitor said the app showed no wait but there was one on arrival.
  • We did not count 10 list posts that repeat the parking, waiting area and deboning lines without a meal behind them. Several sponsored posts about an unrelated rice-cake shop of the same name in Jeju City, all following the same lineup of venues, were set aside.
