제주광해 애월 Gwanghae is best known as the name of the Joseon king Gwanghaegun; none of the posts say why the house took the name, and Aewol is the seaside township it stands in.

A second-floor dining room on the Aewol coast road where people eat braised hairtail looking out at the sea. Most order the Gwanghae combination: braised hairtail with abalone, grilled mackerel, a seafood stew and two kinds of marinated crab, plus grilled hairtail or abalone. It's 108,000 won small (eight posts) and 177,000 won large (two posts); pairs often take the braised-hairtail set instead (63,000 / 94,000 won). Staff take the abalone and fish apart for you at the table. We read 30 posts dated July 13 to October 20, 2026; 25 describe an actual meal, and close to ten of those are travel-course posts that repeat the same lines.

What sets it apart
- Show your receipt at the gift shop downstairs and you get a free drink. Ten posts collected one; two say the choice is americano, iced tea or black tea. One post says there's no limit on how many people can claim one, and two waited in the shop while their table was being readied.
- The windows face the sea: twelve posts mention the view, and three stepped out onto a terrace through the open windows. In three posts, staff offered to move them once a window table freed up. One evening visitor saw nothing of the sea.
- Three posts waited; one counted six parties ahead and about fifteen minutes. Two didn't wait: one walked straight into a window seat on a weekday lunch in July, and another got in on a Sunday lunch just before a queue formed. Six posts call it a place with waits and recommend joining the remote queue on CatchTable, without saying they waited themselves. Five booked or queued through CatchTable.
- Ten posts say the portions are large. Several wondered whether two people could finish the small combination, and a party of six said one large braise was plenty.

Three posts note the restaurant is on the second floor and two rode the lift up. There's a basement car park, but nobody puts the dining room underground. Nobody says whether there are stairs.
We don't know about wheelchair or stroller access or a step at the door. Two posts mention a lift, but nobody talks about wheelchairs. That's a gap in the posts, not a sign it's inaccessible.
No post says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or split by gender; one mentions mouthwash in the restroom, and another mentions photos hung by the restroom door.

What we do not know
- Not one post arrived by bus; every visit reads as a road trip, so we can't say how practical it is on public transport.
- Ten posts give the same opening hours: daily 10:00 to 20:00, last order 19:00. Seven of them copied a listing block, though. One says there's no afternoon break, and four say it may close early if ingredients run out. No post mentions a closing day.
- Prices in October 2026 posts match July's: 108,000 won for the small combination, 63,000 won for the small braised-hairtail set. One post calls it on the pricey side; another says it's not cheap but worth it for what you get. The 5% discount mentioned is for the downstairs gift shop, not the meal.
- Nine posts list the phone number as 0507-1312-4789; one list post gives 064-713-4789. Everyone who booked did it through CatchTable, not by phone.
- Nine of the visit posts come from three blogs and repeat the same lines in the same order, things like the remote-queue tip and the 108,000-won combination. None of them disclose sponsorship. We counted what they ate but didn't treat what they say about waiting as evidence.
