Jangchon Hanu Maeul
장촌한우마을 Hanu maeul means 'Korean-beef village' (hanu is native Korean cattle); Jangchon is a proper name the posts do not explain.

A hanu beef restaurant in the hills inland of Aewol, on Cheondeok-ro next to the livestock auction house. It grills beef too, but most posts we read came at lunch for the 13,000-won beef-rib soup, the 11,000-won offal soup or the 14,000-won beef-tartare bibimbap. We read 10 posts from November 2024 to August 2026; 8 of them describe eating there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Six posts call the portions generous — meat in the soup bigger than a spoon, and rice packed into a heaped bowl.
- Four posts say there was no off smell — about the raw liver and tripe, the tartare and the offal soup.
- Four posts are from repeat visitors, including a Jeju native who comes every grave-tending season and someone who stops whenever work takes them to Aewol.
- Two posts mention an open kitchen you can watch, and two say extra side dishes are fetched from a self-serve corner.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 2 of 8 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 8 posts |
No post says from experience which floor the restaurant is on; the '1st floor' in the address is the registered value.
Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. One post says they always take their shoes off, and another describes floor seating.
Two posts say the restrooms are inside the restaurant and separated by sex.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 10 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes getting there by bus. Posts say it sits inland, off the usual routes, and suggest going by car.
- No post mentions waiting. One went just after a weekend lunch rush and found it quiet; another says tables nearly fill up on weekends during the pre-Chuseok grave-tending season.
- Only one post went with family and one with coworkers, so we can't say who this place suits. One post mentions a private room.
- Five posts list the opening hours as 9:30 to 21:00, but every one copied them from an info block, and one adds that it is open every day. No post confirms the 9:30 opening firsthand.
- Prices on record: soups 11,000 to 13,000 won, tartare bibimbap 14,000, tartare 30,000, liver and tripe 15,000. No post gives grilled-beef prices, so we don't know what a grilled meal costs.
- Three posts give the phone number as 064-799-7890. None says whether the restaurant takes reservations.
