Raw fish
Hoetteuneunjung Yeongjong-Unseo
회뜨는중 영종운서점 The name is a sentence in the present tense — the fish is being sliced right now.
Data as of · Published ·
Hoetteuneunjung Yeongjong-Unseo is a live-fish sashimi house on the restaurant lane outside exit 2 at Unseo station, on Yeongjong island west of Incheon. It occupies units 116 and 117 on the ground floor of an officetel block, and the sign claims the fish comes in the same day from Yeonan wharf. It is one branch of a chain, though only one writer bothers to say so; the rest treat it as the neighbourhood's. It closes at five in the morning, last orders half past four, and several posts arrive here as the night's second stop. It used to open at three in the afternoon; since about August 2026 it opens at eleven, and posts about eating raw fish at lunchtime start from then. Order sashimi and you can bolt on a fixed side-set for ten or thirteen thousand won — sixteen of the twenty-eight posts did. The posts we read run from December 2025 to September 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart
- There is no cover charge, and the free dishes get written about more than the paid ones. Six posts point out the absence of the charge; nine are surprised to be handed soy-marinated crab for nothing. Four name the kimchi pancake the best thing on the table — one writer was scolded by her husband for eating it instead of the fish she had paid for. Alongside come creamed corn with cheese, silkworm pupae, white kimchi, pickled shallot and leaves; four posts were also given seaweed soup or a bowl of porridge. A February 2026 post records the terms: crab and pupae refill without limit, more pancake or corn costs ₩3,000.
- Fifteen posts say even the smallest plate defeated them. The small mixed sashimi runs ₩39,000; six writers call it larger than the word suggests, two say it fed two adults outright. Both posts that ordered the large (₩59,000) struggled to finish, and one reckons four drinkers could share one. The writer who took the octopus hotpot made it as far as the noodles and abandoned the fried rice. Three posts say that once the side-set arrives there is no room left on the table.
- You order from a tablet at the table, as fourteen posts describe. A large board on the wall carries the same list, and four writers compared the two before choosing. One found dishes on the tablet that the wall does not show — cream prawns and sweet-and-sour pork, Chinese cooking in a sashimi house. The tablet's first screen runs by season: plaice, mullet and octopus in spring; squid, croaker and sea bass in summer; gizzard shad, mackerel and prawn in autumn; amberjack and sea bream in winter.
- Twenty-four of the twenty-eight posts call the staff kind, and not only in the abstract. Five describe having the plate named fish by fish, left to right, as it lands. Two say staff noticed a child and offered to leave the chillies out of the noodle soup before being asked; two had mackerel bones picked out for them; one got the stew topped up with fresh broth after the noodles drank it. One asked to swap the ramen for hand-torn dough and was told it would not happen again, while it happened. Only one post is disappointed — nobody told her what she was eating — which sits oddly against the five who were talked through the plate.

Parking
10 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 10 of 27 posts |
|---|
Getting on for twenty posts print the line "basement parking available"; nine describe actually parking a car. The rest is boilerplate copied into the header of the post. What the nine say: the garage is under the building, and staff register your plate for free after the meal if you tell them the number — four describe doing this. One calls it roomy enough for a nervous driver, one says there is always space. Not one post says how many cars fit, or reports finding it full.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|
It is on the ground floor, occupying two units of an officetel block, with the fish tanks out on the pavement — eight posts say you can spot them from a distance. No post mentions stairs or a lift. One writer parked underneath and says only that she "came straight up"; she does not say how. Other businesses occupy the floors above.
Nobody writes about a step at the door, or a ramp. The words do not appear anywhere in the twenty-eight posts. One writer brought a pushchair (August 2026) and what she records is moving around inside — the room is wide, the tables well spaced. She says nothing about getting in. Three posts carry a copied facilities list that claims separate toilets and a high chair, but no writer reports seeing either: of the eight posts that brought a child, not one mentions putting them in a high chair. Beyond the fact that the room is at street level, we have no basis to say whether you can get in.
One writer, and only one, describes the toilet. A May 2026 post says it is the building's, not the restaurant's — you leave the room to use it. The other twenty-seven posts are silent. Three carry a copied facilities line claiming separate men's and women's rooms, but that is transcription, not observation. Nobody records where in the building it is, on which floor, or whether it locks.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Fifteen posts tell you it is a walk from exit 2 at Unseo station, and they do not agree — two minutes, five, seven, ten; 450 metres, 454, 500. These read as separate guesses rather than one copied line. Exactly one writer describes walking there, and she walked from her hotel nearby, not from the station. Four more call the access good without saying how they arrived. No post mentions a bus. The rest drove or did not say.
- Plenty of posts report a full room; two report waiting in one. Six found every table taken — a Saturday evening, six in the afternoon, half past seven, a Monday at five, a Sunday before dinner. Of those, two describe a queue: one May 2026 writer got the last table and watched the next party start a line; another that month warns that after seven you will wait. A third, in April, says a queue nearly formed and she missed it. Nobody says whether there is anywhere to wait, whether you leave a name, or how long it took. One writer booked ahead and found the table already laid.
- Three posts disclose that they were sponsored (February, March and August 2026). In all three the disclosure is a single hashtag on an embedded video or link card, never in the body — read the article alone and you will miss it. One other post insists the opposite, that she paid. The remaining twenty-four say nothing, which means they did not say, not that they did not take anything. Worth reading alongside the fact that only thirteen posts record a price at all. Four pairs of posts went up on the same day (3 and 4 May, 28 and 29 June 2026), and several share near-identical hashtag blocks. We kept them all in the count, because each pair ordered different things — a rice bowl against self-assembled sushi, an octopus hotpot against cuttlefish — at different prices, at different hours. Where there is a record of eating, we count it.
- The set is named after a price that only one of its three forms actually costs. "Ten-thousand-won happiness" is a bolt-on with three shapes, and only B — grilled mackerel, stir-fried peppers, seafood noodle soup — is ₩10,000. A and C are ₩13,000. One February 2026 post spells this out; five others repeat the "just ten thousand more" line, and two of those five paid thirteen. It is the only figure the posts disagree on: the mixed sashimi held at ₩39,000, ₩49,000 and ₩59,000 from April through September 2026 without moving.
