Uirak Songdo Triple Street

우이락 송도트리플스트리트점 A Korean drinking house in the Triple Street mall, known for one thing: a stuffed chilli fritter

Data as of · Published ·

A Korean drinking house on the ground floor of the Triple Street mall in Songdo, Incheon. It is known for one thing — a chilli fritter, stuffed with minced pork and vegetables and fried twice, served with two sauces — and all twenty-seven posts discuss it (₩11,000, ₩12,000 since spring 2026). Around it sit forty-odd dishes: braised chicken with beef tripe, soupy tteokbokki, savoury pancakes, hotpots, boiled pork, mostly sold as sets (₩26,500 and ₩41,800). A glass-fronted fridge by the door, labelled the drinks cellar, holds farmhouse makgeolli, distilled spirits and makgeolli highballs to pick out by eye. Evenings only: five on weekdays and four at weekends, through to two in the morning. You order from a tablet, and prawn crisps and barley tea arrive free as you sit. A chain that began in a Seoul market, with eighty-odd branches; this one opened in August 2025. The posts we read run from December 2025 to September 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. All twenty-seven posts discuss the chilli fritter, and twenty-four make the same observation: crisp outside, juicy within. None disagrees. They also agree on the mechanics — eight say it is fried twice, six that the chilli is unusually large, twelve that the pork-and-vegetable filling runs with juice. And it is not hot: four say so, two recommending it for children and older relatives. Six credit a nine-million-subscriber YouTuber for the queue. Two things to note. One, a single writer did not like it — "not for me, though everyone else seemed to love it," September 2026. Two, the phrases "fried twice for extra crispness" and "the house's secret chilli filling" appear verbatim in eight and six different blogs — the shop's own words, travelling. That the thing is crisp is attested separately, in twenty-four people's own sentences.
  2. It fills from about six. Nine posts record a full room or a wait, and they are specific: a Friday at six, already packed enough to make a newcomer stop in the doorway; a Tuesday at seven with no table to be had; a weekday at ten past eight when one seat was left and a queue formed behind them; an early evening that was full by seven. Two say it always looks busy from outside; one found it full every time she passed. Three go the other way: a Friday visit timed to opening that found two other tables; one evening that was simply quiet; and one Monday when the writer came here because the restaurant next door was full. Before six, you sit down. No post mentions booking — no ticket system, no app. That is not a no; it is a we-do-not-know.
  3. Eight posts describe coming by train, and they disagree on how long it takes. Two give the same figure — 885 metres from exit 2 at Techno Park on Incheon Line 1 — while one says five minutes on foot and three say ten; two just call it close. The clearest set of directions: ten minutes from the station through the underground passage, up the first escalator you see (March 2026). Another uses a landmark: opposite a beer hall on the ground floor. Since 885 metres is a good ten minutes, the five-minute estimate looks like the outlier. Driving, the mall gives you five free hours. Twelve posts carry that line and five describe parking themselves, all finding it easy; one specifies the basement under block C. Five drove to a drinking house, and two of them regret it in writing — a plate like this asks for makgeolli, says one, and she had a cola.
  4. The heat divides sharply inside this menu, and it is worth knowing which side a dish falls on. The chilli fritters are not hot — four say so, one having braced for the opposite. The stews and the tteokbokki are — seven say so. The three most useful posts put a number on it. Of the braised chicken with tripe, a December 2025 writer, who likes heat, records that nothing on the menu warned her and the first spoonful was at the level of Korea's hotter instant noodles; two 2026 posts land just past the familiar red packet — three accounts pointing at roughly the same place. The soupy tteokbokki draws blunter warnings, and one writer notes you cannot choose a heat level. The chilli chicken stew: order it only if you really mean it. One dish is milder than its name — two writers expected the fire-chicken rosé tteokbokki to hurt and found the cream had taken the edge off. If you are avoiding heat, add the rice balls at ₩3,000 — five posts use them for exactly that.
  5. Prawn crisps arrive free as you sit down — ten posts name them, and all ten recognise them for the shop-bought snack they are, which none of them minds. The water is barley tea, say three, all pleased about it; one got hovenia tea instead. A receipt review earns you a small plate of truffle fries — six posts mention the promotion and three collected it. The same offer runs from December 2025 to August 2026. Worth knowing when you read this restaurant's star rating: six of twenty-seven posts are advertising it.
  6. They get stretched. Five posts call the service kind, and say what that meant: a member of staff overhearing two customers puzzle over a fritter that had come out plain instead of seasoned, apologising and bringing the right one as well; suggestions of what to drink with what; being seated somewhere comfortable; leftovers packed properly. And the other side. A December 2025 writer asked for extra broth, waited fifteen minutes, and on checking found it had been forgotten — she ordered fried rice instead. A September 2026 writer could not get a payment to go through in twenty minutes of trying and gave up, and adds that the drinks fridge had been set to freeze, so everything had to be taken out and put back. A July 2026 customer was told a set swap the menu says is allowed is not. Four different days, four different people, so it is not one bad shift. Worth expecting at a busy hour.
  7. Five posts call it quiet for a drinking house, and give the same reason: the space between tables. One contrasts it with the usual problem of having to shout; another notes you cannot really hear the next party. Seven call the room roomy and one calls it small — though that writer means it kindly, preferring the intimacy (July 2026). There are no partitions, though. An August 2026 writer describes the room as open and loose, and records a birthday party behind her that the whole room ended up applauding — after which that table handed its cake around. Four mention work parties at the surrounding tables; three note the wide range of ages.

No post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Across twenty-seven posts the words wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, threshold and step never appear. What we know: it is on the ground floor of a shopping mall (four say so in their own words, one giving the lift number from the car park), the tables are widely spaced (seven), the ceiling is high (one), and there are disposable aprons on the wall (three). Nobody reports a high chair — one post mentions them at the Japanese restaurant next door, which is a different room. One writer mentions children, and only at other people's tables.

The lavatory is not inside the restaurant. Two posts say so: it is out on the ground floor, to the right as you leave — the mall's, in other words. Only one writer has been in, and reports the men's and women's separate, several cubicles on the women's side, and reasonably clean on the day. A March 2026 post adds, in an aside, that at least it is close. How close, and which way the door faces, nobody writes. The other mentions of separate facilities are copied from the venue's online listing and we have not counted them.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • This restaurant appears on a list of closed businesses. It has never closed. A post from 15 September 2025 — an automated nationwide dump of deregistrations — carries its name, category and unit number. We checked the register: there are two licences for that unit, and the first (opened 14 August 2025, categorised as Korean food) was cancelled on 12 September 2025 on the same day the second was issued (categorised as other). The floor area is identical to the square metre. The licence changed, not the restaurant — and twenty-six visit reports follow, from December 2025 to September 2026. We have not counted the list as a visit, but we have kept it, because someone may well find that word first.
  • A good deal of this is marketing, and we say so plainly. Of thirty posts, one declares that the food was given: a May 2026 review heads its order list "provided by the restaurant." Four state that they paid; twenty-two say nothing. But the marks are there. Two pairs went up on the same day (27 June, 7 August 2026). An unusual turn of phrase — "wood-tone and manner" — appears word for word in two different blogs. "Fried twice for extra crispness" appears in eight, "the house's secret chilli filling" in six, "unaffected by season or fashion" in three. One June post reproduces the company's own mission statement. A January post is titled "seven reasons to recommend" and contains not a single price. We have still not thrown them out. Ten ordered different things, the prices move with the calendar, and several record faults. Two posts exist to advertise somebody else's business: one is a nearby pilates studio's own blog, signing off with its booking link; the other is an LED lighting company's, which admires the restaurant's lighting and then introduces its own track-light product. That second one gives the wrong street number and says the fritter is filled with cheese, where the other twenty-six all say minced pork and vegetables — cheese is a thousand-won upgrade. We have not counted that line.
  • Opening time depends on the day, and the posts do not quite line up. The four fullest accounts agree exactly: five in the afternoon to two in the morning Monday to Friday, four to two on Saturday, four to one on Sunday, with last orders an hour before. Six posts fit that. The rest we record as written. Three say four o'clock every day; two say five every day; one says four without qualification; one puts Sunday's opening at five; one (March 2026) has Friday and Saturday running to three in the morning; two put last orders at half past one. Date does not sort them — four and five both appear in March and in August. It reads as people copying half of "four at weekends, five on weekdays," but we could not confirm that. Two say there is no afternoon break and one that it never closes for a day off. If you are aiming for half past four, ring first.
