Hooray

후레이 Hurei Asian-fusion wine bar by Songdo Central Park, known for its Hong Kong-style fried eggplant

Other Asian · Yeonsu-gu, Songdo-dong

Data as of · Published ·

Hooray is an Asian-fusion wine bar on the ground floor of the C wing of a shopping podium facing Songdo Central Park. It cooks Hong Kong and Chinese dishes to go with natural wine, opening for brunch by day and turning into a wine bar at night. There is no real sign — a sticker on the plate glass and an A-board outside, which is why six writers walked straight past it the first time. It is a small room, seven tables or so, with a branded glass and a chilling basket set at each one. The posts we read run from November 2024 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. Whether this place is for you turns on the salt. Eight posts say the seasoning is strong; two say it is not. Most of the eight do not mean it as a complaint — one writes that it never reads as 'too salty' because the sweet-salt-heat balance holds, another that a wine bar is allowed a heavy hand if you are drinking wine with it. One post records the argument happening at her own table: she was pairing with wine and was fine; her husband, eating without a glass, said it was too salty. If you were planning not to drink, read that line first.
  2. One plate carries the house. Twenty-one posts ate the Hong Kong-style fried eggplant — twice as many as the next dish — and six call it the signature. The batter is described as rice-paper thin, with a set caramel layer on top that two writers say shatters like glass. Three posts announce that they do not eat eggplant, and all three ate this. Exactly one dissents, calling the batter heavy and oily. One writer waited twenty minutes for it, so order it early.
  3. Prices rose over the two years, and the rise reads off the dates. The fried eggplant holds at ₩12,000 across six posts from November 2024 to November 2025, then ₩13,000 in March and May 2026, then ₩15,000 in September 2026. Seafood fried rice went ₩16,000 to ₩21,000, fried pork hock ₩22,000 to ₩26,000, mala noodles ₩19,000 to ₩22,000. So the split over whether it is expensive is not only a matter of taste: the five posts calling it good value are mostly the older ones, and the three calling it dear are the ones counting the wine in.
  4. It is a small room, so booking is effectively the default. Eight posts call the space small and one counts about seven tables. Thirteen either booked ahead or tell you to, through CatchTable or Naver. The one writer who turned up without a booking waited — thirty minutes down in the car park until a table opened. What the small room buys you is space between tables: four posts say it is quiet enough to talk across dinner.
  5. It is a wine bar, but you are not made to drink. Two posts say so outright: one pair sat through dinner without alcohol and nobody pushed; another expected a drink minimum and was never asked. Five posts ordered the non-alcoholic mojito, three of them because they had driven. Christmas is the exception — one writer reports a one-bottle-per-table rule on the night. Two posts give corkage at ₩30,000 a bottle.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is Hong Kong-style fried eggplant (홍콩식 가지튀김) — 21 of 27 posts.

Parking

4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park4 of 27 posts

Four posts actually parked. They use the building's basement car park, and one says the owner will validate three hours free if you give your plate number at the till — though another writes two hours, so it splits. Two add that the car park is large and that parking near the C wing keeps you from getting lost. Eight more posts say only 'parking available', with no sign they drove, so we did not count them — copying the shop's own line is not the same as having parked. One writer warns that punching the restaurant name into a satnav sends you to the apartment car park; ask for the mall instead.

Getting inside

Separate restrooms1 of 27 posts

It is on the ground floor — three posts say so, in the C wing of the podium. Two describe the route from the basement car park: up through gate C1, then a minute to your right. Nobody says whether there are steps on the way in. Six writers walked past it on their first visit because there is no proper sign, so look for the Hooray sticker on the plate glass.

Not one of the twenty-eight posts mentions a step, a ramp, or a wheelchair. We do not know whether there is a lip at the door. The closest anyone comes is a weekday-lunch visit with a baby, where the writer says she phoned ahead to ask whether a pushchair was allowed — but she never says whether the pushchair actually got in, and she adds that the evening might be a different matter. If you are coming with a wheelchair or a pushchair, call 0507-1406-5334 first.

The lavatory is not inside the restaurant. Three posts say you use the building's, and one of them describes what she actually saw: separate men's and women's, large, over by the C2 gate. A fourth post also says the lavatories are separated by sex, but that line sits inside a copied facilities list, so we did not count it. Nobody writes about how far the walk is, or whether there is a step on the way.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only three posts describe getting here by rail: about a ten-minute walk from Central Park station on Incheon Line 1, with one writer adding that the subway access 'looks fine enough'. Not a single post came by bus. The rest either drove — five say so — or never mention how they arrived.
  • Only one post reports queuing — thirty minutes on a weekend evening without a booking. The rest booked, so we cannot say whether there is normally a wait. Some write that the place is always busy, or that weekend evening slots were full, but that is not the same as having stood in line.
  • Only one post (April 2026) says the evening is a no-kids zone. The same post adds that no high chairs are kept and that dogs are taken by reservation only; one other post repeats the high-chair line. And yet one writer brought a baby at weekday lunch — which suggests the brunch service and the evening wine bar run by different rules, though nobody writes down where the line falls. If you are coming with a child, phone first.
  • Not one post declares a sponsorship. We read the bodies and the trailing hashtags and found no mention of a comped meal or a writing fee; six writers state they paid their own way. Two do record being given something for nothing — a glass of wine and a hazelnut ice cream in one case, a chocolate mousse in the other. Twenty-eight posts are not twenty-eight people: one blogger wrote two of them, and a third of hers, a supermarket vegetable review, we left out of the count.
  • The opening hours fall into two eras. The two 2024 posts give a Tuesday closing day with Sundays and Mondays ending at ten. Every post from August 2025 to September 2026 — more than ten of them — gives Monday to Saturday, 11:30 to 23:00, closed Sundays, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00. Something changed in between. One April 2026 post still writes Tuesday, though posts from the months either side of it say Sunday, so it reads as copied from an old listing — but we cannot check. As for last orders, three posts write 13:30, which makes no sense for a room that serves until eleven, and one writes 21:30; we have published neither.
  • Coriander goes on nearly everything. Nine posts say so, and three say they will leave it off if you ask when ordering. Five writers love it; four picked it off. One draws a useful distinction: the coriander sits on top rather than being cooked through the dishes. Two posts say the menu turns over by season, so we cannot promise the list we read is the list you will get — the prawn wonton noodles from a November 2024 post never appear again in the other twenty-seven, and the fried pork hock is reported missing in August 2025 only to be priced again in 2026.
