뚱보할매김밥 Ttungbo halmae is Korean for 'chubby grandma'; gimbap is rice rolled in dried seaweed.
Compiled from 17 blog posts read in fullSources →
Ttungbo Halmae Gimbap sits at 325 Tongyeonghaean-ro, across from the turtle-ship replica at Gangguan harbor in Tongyeong, and sells one thing: Chungmu gimbap — plain rice rolls eaten with toothpicks alongside separate squid-and-fish-cake salad and radish kimchi, with a radish-greens soup if you eat in. Six 2026 posts that noted a price paid 7,500 won per serving (15,000 for two); one paid 14,000 won for two. We read 30 posts dated August 10 to October 21, 2026; 18 describe actually going there, and 12 of those took the food away. We set aside 2 posts about other shops and did not count 10 roundup or listing posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Takeout starts at two servings — four posts say so, one noting single orders are refused. Nobody wrote whether a solo diner can eat one serving inside.
- The rolls and sides are made ahead — three posts say so. One liked getting the order instantly; another was let down that the gimbap was already wrapped and wished for a freshly made batch; a third said the prepared sides keep even a long line moving fast.
- No extra side dishes — three posts say so. One yearly regular wrote that extra sides have stopped and portions of the sides seem smaller now; the posts don't let us date that change.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 3 of 17 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 17 posts read) |
You order on the ground floor and can eat upstairs. Three posts mention the second floor — one ate looking out over the harbor, one simply praised the upstairs view, one described the stairs to the right of the entrance. Three posts also found more tables than they expected.
Nobody wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post says the upstairs seating is reached by stairs, and no one mentions a lift. A listing post copied a tourism database line saying the entrance is wheelchair accessible; we did not count that.
No post says whether there is a restroom inside or whether it is split by gender — that means we don't know, not that there isn't one.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Three posts say it looks small but fills you up because the rice is packed tight; one said the portion was as small as ever.
- Spice level is disputed: three posts call the squid salad mildly spicy, one says it isn't spicy at all.
- Two posts found it salty, one found it pleasantly not salty. One of the salty verdicts came from a longtime regular who felt the balance had slipped for the first time; that is a single post, so we don't call it a change.
- Waits vary: one post gave up and bought next door because the takeout crowd was too big, one found it quiet late in the evening, one said a crowd moved quickly. Nobody recorded how many minutes they waited.
- No one described arriving by bus; posts only place it across the crosswalk from the Gangguan turtle ship.
- Eight visit posts all give opening hours of 06:00-22:00, though most copied them from map listings. Roundup posts also carry older figures of midnight or 2 a.m., so check before going late.
- Prices have risen: a January 2017 visit paid 5,000 won per serving, 2026 posts pay 7,500, and one regular felt the price goes up every visit. One late-September 2026 post paid 14,000 won for two; we can't explain the gap.
- Several posts give the phone number as 055-645-2619. One copied listing says reservations are possible, but no post describes actually booking or ordering by phone.
- The 10 uncounted posts are roundups listing many places by address, signature dish and a one-line pitch — some with AI images, some compiled from YouTube, one stating outright it is not a first-hand review. None records eating here, so we did not use them.
