A bone-soup and gamjatang house on the main road in Jeongja-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon, across from a high school. The menu has two things on it: the single bowl at ₩9,900, and the shared pot at ₩29,000–39,000. One writer calls the short menu a form of confidence. Open at half past seven in the morning until ten at night, closed between 3.30 and 4.30 in the afternoon, and closed Wednesdays. Opening that early makes it a place people come to the morning after, and four writers describe other customers drinking at lunch. Nobody has to tell these writers it is an old place — they all say it themselves. Close to ten describe the worn fittings, the regulars, the neighbourhood restaurant that has simply been there. It sits between the Starfield mall and the old town, on a stretch nobody would look for a restaurant on; one writer says as much. The posts we read run from February 2025 to September 2026.

What sets it apart
- Everything here starts with the rice. The ₩9,900 bowl comes with its own small pot of rice, not a bowl of it, and no surcharge. Close to twenty posts say so; four put it in the headline. Not one writer calls this place expensive. Several reach for comparisons: nobody has seen a bone soup under ten thousand won lately; a chain's smallest pot is forty; the same dish is thirty-five across town. There is a method. Tip the rice out, pour the hot water that came with it into the empty pot, put the lid back. By the end of the soup it is scorched-rice tea, and eight writers describe finishing that way. But the rice pot comes only with the bowl. Three posts warn that the shared stew does not get one, and one writer, curious about it, ordered the stew and regretted it.
- This is somewhere people keep going back to. Eight writers say they have returned, among them one who comes at least monthly, one who has been more than ten times with his wife, one who reckons five, and one on her third visit. What they notice about the other customers points the same way: older men alone with a bowl and a glass, tables mostly of middle-aged men, a room full of people who have clearly been coming for years. One writer, whose office is nearby, lists it among her employment benefits. The phrase 'where the locals eat' appears in five of the titles alone.
- Ten writers say the portions are large, and the stew in particular: one writer's child asked whether it really was the small size, another says it feeds three, a third counted five or six bones in a small pot and was finished after two. The single bowl runs the same way — overflowing, two or three good pieces of meat on the bone. Two call the meat thick; three note there is no off smell to it. Which means people leave food. One writer, who says she loves the dried radish greens, still could not finish them.
- The local currency card works here — but the app does not list it under this name. One writer explains: it is payable with the Suwon card, but a search in the app turns up nothing; what you have to search for is a different, slightly wrong version of the name. She assumes a typo in the registration. So if you mean to pay that way, search for the wrong name. Only one post mentions this, from February 2026, so we cannot confirm it is still the case.
- Ask and the side dishes come again — four writers did. The chilli in particular comes two ways. What arrives is the mild green kind, crisp and good between mouthfuls by one account; the hot one you have to ask for, as two writers point out. A third asked for something fierce and was handed chillies picked on the premises, which were exactly that. The sides are napa kimchi, cubed radish and that chilli, with soybean paste and a mustard sauce for dipping the meat. Five writers mention the mustard, and they are enthusiastic about it.
- Four writers call the room large — roomy, enough for a crowd, plenty of tables. And two of them contradict themselves in the next line. The one who says it is large and full of tables adds that they are close enough together to be a little uncomfortable. The one who found the spacing generous notes separately that it gets loud at peak times. Only two describe waiting for a table: a short wait on a busy weekday evening, and the suspicion that large parties cause one. Another says she has never once seen the room less than full — but does not say she queued. One post notes the turnover is quick enough that waiting is rarely a problem. One writer ate here alone and wrote about it; four more say it is an easy place to do that. One counts the tables as four-tops; two mention aprons you help yourself to.
- You used to take your shoes off. An April 2025 post records the change: a returning customer was told to keep them on. No post since mentions shoes at all, so you walk in as you are. Nobody describes a step, a ramp or a wheelchair, so this is the only thing we know about getting in.
- Dogs cannot come in. One writer, out for a drive with hers, found this out and left the dog at a nearby grooming place while she ate. Only that one post mentions it.

You park in front, but nobody agrees on how many cars fit. Ten writers counted, and the counts run three, three or four, four, eight, eight to ten. One explains the gap: about four with room to spare, eight if you double-park. Being able to park is not the same as it being easy. Two call the space cramped, one advises walking instead, and two warn that it fills at mealtimes — one arrived to find it already full. Two others found it no trouble at all, and one of them was waved in by a member of staff who came out to help. It is free — one post says so.

Only one post mentions the lavatory, and only to say it is inside. Not whether it is divided, how big, or where. Not one post mentions a step, a ramp, a wheelchair or a lift. Only one writer describes seeing a high chair. Another post contains the words, but strung together with 'takeaway, delivery, booking, groups welcome' — Naver's own facilities list, so we have not counted it. Two writers brought children: one says the soup is mild enough for a primary-school child to share, the other fed some of the rice to a baby.

What we do not know
- The afternoon break can start earlier than the posted time. Seventeen posts give 3.30 to 4.30, but one writer found that just past three they had already stopped taking orders, and says she only just made it. The same post adds that if you want the stew you should come early. Opening time is also off by one account: nineteen say 7.30, one says 7. On the Wednesday closing, all eighteen agree.
- Not one post declares sponsorship. Ten state on their own that they paid; the rest say nothing. One (May 2026) does carry a line at the bottom crediting an AI assistant for the reference material — the address-and-menu block, by the look of it. It also contains his own account of more than ten visits with his wife, so we kept it in. Nobody wrote that the food was bad. But there are reservations. One found the kimchi and radish sweet, and her companion thought the soup was too. One calls the room plain and worn and the flavour mainstream rather than distinctive. One wanted more than two pieces of potato in the pot. And a regular noted that the kimchi was less ripe than usual on the day she came.
- Not one post says what floor it is on. Even the address line Naver's check-in card prints stops at the street number, with no floor after it. The words for ground floor and second floor do turn up across the twenty-nine posts, but every time about a different restaurant written up in the same piece — several are month-in-review round-ups. Stairs and lifts never appear at all. This is not a report on the floor; it is a record that nobody gave one.
