고모리돌짜장 행운반점 A Chinese restaurant above Gomori reservoir whose jjajang noodles arrive sizzling on a heated stone slab

Data as of · Published ·

Gomori Doljjajang is a Chinese restaurant on the hill above Gomori reservoir in Pocheon. The sign and the licence both read 고모리돌짜장 행운반점; customers shorten it to Haengun-banjeom or just Gomori Doljjajang. The dish it is named for is jjajang noodles brought to the table still sizzling on a heated stone slab, and the same slab carries a stir-fried jjamppong; a beef-bone broth with brisket or cockles rounds out the signature board. A self-serve bar gives you a fried egg — one per person, cooked yourself on a burner in the corner — and as much rice as you want, both free. Open every day from half past ten to half past eight, last orders at eight. The posts we read run from March 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. There are several private rooms — counts run from two or three up to half a dozen, plus a separate space for larger parties, and a good number of writers came for a family gathering or a work dinner. The posts disagree about what is inside them: one from November 2025 says every room has proper chairs and tables, while one from September 2026 describes a floor-seating room at the back. We cannot tell which is current. A December visitor was steered to a hall table instead, because the rooms are cold unless booked.
  2. Whether you wait depends entirely on when you come. Everyone who arrived on a weekday, or shifted around the lunch peak, walked straight in. At weekend lunchtime the room was close to full; one writer arrived at opening and found it crowded by the time they left, and another had turned back more than once because it looked too busy. One post notes a waiting list by the door; two say you can book through Naver.
  3. Several writers brought small children, and they are the most precise observers here. Two describe high chairs by the entrance and child cutlery brought over once you order; three single out a microwave set aside specifically for baby food, next to the self-serve bar. One noticed a child-sized apron (and that there were no adult ones). The stone jjajang comes with heat levels, though — one family ordered the plain 7,000-won jjajangmyeon for their child instead.
  4. Portion size is the one thing writers cannot agree on. Plenty say a single serving looked like two and they struggled to finish. But a party of six who ordered the large stone jjajang called it 'one and a half servings, no exaggeration', one found the chilli-prawn set smaller than it looked, and one thought the mini sweet-and-sour pork distinctly mean. The split has an explanation: the jjajang leaves a lot of sauce behind and the rice is free, so the people who went back for a bowl and mixed it in are the ones who left full.
  5. Write a review — from the receipt, or on social media — and you get something free: cream-sauce fried dumplings, a soft drink or a bottle of soju. Eight of the writers took it. None of them declared a sponsorship, but it is worth knowing while you read them, because something on their table was payment for the post. One recipient advised taking the drink, since the cream on the dumplings adds nothing. A second notice by the till offers a tall americano at the Starbucks by the arboretum on a 10,000-won purchase if you show this restaurant's receipt; two writers went and collected it.

The most ordered dish is dol-jjajang (돌짜장) — 23 of 27 posts.

Parking

15 posts say you can park; 1 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

This is a place you drive to. Almost everyone who mentions parking used the lot right in front, and four posts point to a second lot up the hill for when it fills. Weekends are another matter: in a party of six, one couple had to leave their car elsewhere and walk, and another writer found late-weekend-morning parking a scrum of cars coming and going. Those who came on a weekday or right at opening had no trouble.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 27 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read)

No one says what floor it is on, or whether there are stairs. Several describe the building as up a hill, or just left of the slope down to the reservoir — but that is the road, not the door. Not one post says what lies between the car park and the entrance.

Nobody says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. No one looked at the threshold, a ramp, or the width of the door. Several writers came with babies and described the high chairs and the baby-food microwave, yet none of them says what they did with the pushchair. A dozen call the room wide and the tables well spaced — but that is after you are inside.

One writer out of twenty-eight looked at the toilet. That one says it is beside the till and shared between men and women. Both facts — that it is indoors, and that it is not separated — rest on a single person. Nobody else confirms either.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Nobody writes about getting here without a car. In twenty-eight posts there is not one bus, one station, one walk from anywhere. What there is instead: people stopping off on a drive, people describing where they parked, people pairing the meal with the arboretum or a lap of the reservoir. Two mention that the reservoir is a five-minute walk, but that is the after-lunch stroll, not the way in.
  • Two posts give a different closing time. Twenty say half past ten in the morning to half past eight at night; one from November 2025 says half past nine, and one from August 2026 says half past ten. Both contradict themselves — the first puts last orders at eight in the very same line. We have left them as written rather than tidying them up.
  • Prices look flat across the period we read — a menu photo from May 2025 and a post from September 2025 agree, and the 2026 posts match them. One figure disagrees: an August 2026 writer puts the chilli-prawn set at 38,000 won where the posts either side of it say 39,000. Two items appear only in a single September 2026 post: a one-person stone jjajang at 15,000 won, where earlier posts list only medium and large, and a 28,000-won jjamppong served in a clay pot that none of the other twenty-seven mention.
