Sukseong Gogitgan

숙성고깃간 본점 A pork grill house by Sujin station where the staff cook your meat for you at a station beside the kitchen and bring the pan to the table.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

Suksseong Gogitgan is a pork grill house on the main road opposite the Seongnam-dong community office, five minutes on foot from exit 2 of Sujin station on line 8. You do not grill your own meat here. Staff cook it through in a cast-iron pan at a station by the kitchen and carry the whole pan to your table, where a low flame keeps it warm. Nearly everyone orders the set that brings belly, collar and jowl at once; kimchi, water dropwort, mushrooms and potato cook alongside in the pooled fat. Four in the afternoon until one in the morning. The registered address says basement unit B03, but the door is at street level. The posts we read run from November 2025 to July 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The meat comes to you already cooked. A member of staff grills it at a station by the kitchen, behind a cylindrical screen that keeps the fat from spitting. The praise that recurs most often in these posts is that your clothes and hair do not end up smelling of pork; the next most common is that nobody has to break off the conversation to tend the pan. Several writers wandered over to watch, though one warns you get spattered if you stand too close. Three posts note that the thin-shaved belly is grilled without the screen.
  2. This is new as of spring 2026. Posts written between November 2025 and February 2026 describe staff grilling at your table, with the splash screen set up around your own pan. A writer at the end of April supplies the hinge: "it used to be grilled right in front of you behind a big steel screen, and I suppose people kept getting spattered, because now it's all done at the kitchen." She also names what was lost — you no longer get to see the raw meat before it is cooked. The older posts and the newer ones are not contradicting each other; the restaurant changed.
  3. Most people walked, and many wrote down the route. Straight out of exit 2 at Sujin, and it is opposite the Seongnam-dong community office — that description repeats from post to post. Estimates of the walk range from three to ten minutes; the one person who gave a distance said 316 metres. Those who came by bus got off at Jonghap Undongjang-ipgu or at the stop named for the stadium and the community office, and one post says it is walkable from Moran station too.
  4. People come here for work dinners. One long hall, mostly tables for four, which can be pushed together — several posts say parties of ten to twenty fit. One writer counted: thirteen tables, room for about fifty. Three say the room fills up around seven in the evening, and one counted three tables that looked like office dinners. The people who brought children liked how far apart the tables are.
4 more
  1. The room changes with the season. The street side is a folding glass wall; four posts describe it thrown open in spring and autumn so the place feels like an outdoor stall, and one says it stays shut in high summer for the air conditioning. One writer went in April and again in June and found it "like a different restaurant." Another was there on an open-door evening when the mosquito-fogging truck went past and the smoke came in.
  2. Write a receipt review and you get a drink. Six posts mention that a Naver receipt review earns a free soju, beer or soft drink. A November 2025 post records a promotion selling soju at ₩2,900, and one writer drew a prize on the way out — two portions of belly, valid for a month. A fair share of what we read was therefore written by people who had been offered something at the till, and is worth reading with that in mind.
  3. Four writers brought children. The one who came with a two-, a four- and a six-year-old was glad of the high chairs but found they have no tray, and noted approvingly that the bin under each table catches whatever a child drops. Another mentions children's spoons and forks at the self-serve bar. The parents all give the same reason for choosing the place: with children, one adult usually spends the meal at the grill instead of eating, and here nobody does.
  4. They take the Seongnam local-currency voucher. Two writers mention it, one of them saying she came specifically to spend hers. You order from a tablet at the table and pay at the counter on the way out.

Parking

Posts saying you can park1 of 28 posts

Two accounts of parking here flatly disagree. Fifteen posts say "no parking — use the public lot beside the Prugio City building," but every one of those lines sits in a header block before the post proper begins; none of them is the story of someone parking a car. Exactly one writer describes actually parking, and she says the opposite: the restaurant shares the apartment building's retail garage, and leaving the car underground was "completely free." A second writer says the public lot is free after six in the evening. We cannot tell which of these is true today — if you are driving, it is worth a phone call.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)
Separate restrooms1 of 28 posts

Do not go looking for a basement. The registered address and the unit number — 4 Gwangmyeong-ro 100beon-gil, B03 — read like one, but a visitor pinned it down: "the address says basement, but it's just the ground floor." Several others say the same. It is a glass frontage with a yellow sign, right at the crossing, and there are no stairs down.

Nobody has looked at the doorway. The words "wheelchair accessible" appear in two posts, but in both they sit inside a block copied wholesale from the Naver listing — the one that runs "groups welcome, reservations, wi-fi, separate men's and women's toilets, high chairs, waiting area." Those writers did not see any of it. Not one post says whether there is a lip at the entrance, which door you use when the folding wall is closed, or whether the aisle is wide enough. This is not a yes and not a no; we do not know.

The toilet is not inside the restaurant but in the building, and one person has actually been. She read the notice on the wall and wrote it down: out through the back door of the restaurant and left, with separate men's and women's. One other post lists "toilet: inside the restaurant" in its header block, which contradicts the person who walked there, and another simply copied "separate men's and women's" from the Naver listing. Nobody wrote about how many stalls there are, how clean it is, or whether there is a step on the way out.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • These posts need reading with care. Of the thirty we looked at, five disclose that the meal was sponsored or comped and two insist they paid their own way. The rest say nothing — and yet the same supplied sentence runs through the silent ones: some version of "unlike the cheap frozen kind this is domestic pork, the texture is completely different, I'll have to try the shaved-pork set next time" appears more than ten times. Exactly one person actually ordered it. One post that does disclose its sponsorship still has an instruction to the writer left un-deleted in the middle of the text ("putting a shot of the steamed egg between the meat photos makes the spread look fuller"). We dropped one post from the count altogether: it carries no particular of any visit and gets the shop's own grade wrong, calling 1+ simply grade 1.
  • Nobody reports queueing. Five writers booked ahead instead, and one of them adds that the room was already full when she walked in and she was glad she had. Another arrived early to an empty room and found it full by the time she left; a third says it fills around seven. So this is not "there is no wait" so much as "people book, and so nobody writes about waiting." How long you stand there without a reservation, we do not know.
  • Closing time moved two hours earlier. Every post written between November 2025 and mid-February 2026 gives three in the morning, last orders at two. Every post from mid-April to July 2026 gives one in the morning, last orders at midnight. These are not competing accounts; the hours changed in between. One post from June still says three, so if you are planning a late arrival, call first. Only one post mentions a closing day, and only to say there is none; nobody mentions an afternoon break.
  • What comes with the set changed; the price did not. The house set stayed ₩56,000 across every post we read, but posts up to February 2026 say it includes noodles (kimchi-broth or spicy-mixed, your choice) and posts from April on say it includes the big steamed egg instead. Most give the weight as 540g; one says 450g. We cannot tell which is current. One writer also found that the jowl-cheek set is the exception — that one you grill yourself, which is worth knowing if the grilling service is why you came.
