잔비어바 A beer bar in an alley by Moran station that pours draught beer mixed with yuzu, tomato, herb or pear and stays open until six in the morning; when the room gets loud, people take their glasses out to the tables in the alley.

Janbeerbar is a beer bar on the ground floor of 16 Gwangmyeong-ro 16beon-gil, three to five minutes' walk from exit 3 of Moran station. Several writers describe the A-board outside — four lines reading Small Food, Small Snack, Beer, Soju — and a red neon sign on raw concrete. Two things define it: draught beer mixed with things, and the hours. There are more than ten of the beer cocktails — yuzu, lemon, tomato, herb, pear, Chinese sorghum liquor, whisky, cinnamon, wine, plum — and the bar opens at six in the evening and closes at six the next morning, last orders at five. Most of the food sits in the ₩10,000s; the two things people order are the kimchi-pizza sweet-and-sour pork at ₩15,800 and the tteokbokki at ₩13,800 that everyone says tastes like the Yupdduk chain. There are tables out in the alley, and seven writers call the inside loud. Two note that the same owner runs the Korean bar Nuruk and the izakaya Ballhigh nearby, and that a stamp card works across all three. The twenty-six posts we read run from December 2024 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- When you go decides everything — ten writers say you wait and three say they did not. The three give times: 7:10 on a Saturday (though "by eight there was a queue"), seven on a Friday, and six in the evening — that last writer adding that ten minutes after they sat down there was not an empty table left. Among those who waited, one arriving at half past seven on a Saturday reports taking the last table with a queue forming behind them, and another found it packed on a Sunday evening. Four state it flatly: Friday and Saturday mean queueing; full on weekdays and weekends alike; arrive late and you wait; always busy, always a queue. One writer sets the other side of it out: weekends mean a queue and a full, cramped, loud room, and on a weekday it is quiet and lovely. The queue runs through CatchTable — five writers tell you to put your name in at the machine by the door or join remotely, and one notes they also take bookings by phone.
- The room is loud, so people go out to the alley — eleven writers discuss the outside tables, and four of them get there by way of the noise. Seven call it loud and none calls it quiet: when it is busy the music and the talking run together; you will do better outside if you want to hear anyone; it is honestly too loud inside to hold a conversation, so take the outside seats. Two identify the cause. One blames the gap between tables, and moved out after starting inside. The other points to a very large speaker and notes that if you are seated beside it you can ask them to turn it down. The outside seating is mostly tables for two in the narrow alley beside the building, and two writers add that in mild weather the folding doors open right up, so the window seats feel like the alley too. Two mention that the photographs come out well out there; one was there in the rain and liked it.
- The bar does what its name says: more than ten draught beers mixed with something. One writer copied the list — yuzu, lemon, tomato, herb, pear, Chinese sorghum liquor, whisky, cinnamon, wine, plum. There is one mixed with soju, and the sorghum version, which writers call by a nickname, is praised for getting the ratio right. You do not see beers like this elsewhere, says one; and where other bars charge a premium for a flavoured beer, another notes, the prices here are reasonable. But three writers had one and went back to the plain draught: the tomato and the pear tasted like soft drinks, said one, and the basic beer was better. The tomato divides people flatly — outstanding, says one; tomato juice and nothing more, says another. The one the regulars agree on is the herb. Two note that hialballs, soju and a range of soft drinks are also sold. One reports corkage at ₩20,000 a bottle.
- You order from a QR code at the table — eight writers mention it. Scan it and you get the menu and the ordering screen. Two report friction. One misses a paper menu: the food is cheap and the drinks list long, they say, but with no printed menu you cannot take it in at a glance. The other could not get the code to open at all, and worked out after trying everything that the camera's location permission was the problem. There is one more rule when it is busy: one writer reports that while there is a queue, any additional order has to be a dish over ₩10,000. Another notes a two-hour limit at weekends, adding that they really do come and tell you when there are ten minutes left.
- People keep coming back — nine of the twenty-six say they have, and not one says they will not. Some count: a third or fourth visit; more than ten; an nth time as a regular; a place they return to whenever; somewhere they go just for the pasta. One explains that when she was around Moran often this was her favourite second or third stop, and that she only got back after a long gap because it is always full. Four more mean to return. One gives the plainest reason of all: when you cannot decide where to go, you go here — like a motorway services. But this is usually the second or third bar of the night. Seven writers frame it that way, and even the post that works through four bars in a day has it second. Two resolve to come first next time and order properly.
- Eight writers call it cheap and not one calls it expensive. Cheaper than the franchise bars, says one, and with a stranger menu; mostly in the ₩10,000s, says another, so one dish as a second stop is nothing; cheap for the quality and the quantity; and where other bars charge a premium for a flavoured beer, this one does not. The prices have not been entirely still, though. The kimchi-pizza pork at ₩15,800 and the plain draught at ₩4,000 read the same in June 2025 and September 2026, but the yuzu and tomato beers are ₩500 to ₩1,000 cheaper in the 2026 summary than on the 2025 menu photo — a cut, or a mistake, we cannot tell. A January 2025 post we excluded from the count, which copied the Naver listing, gives the tteokbokki and the mala version ₩1,000 lower than they are now; since we did not count that post, we record only that prices may have risen once in early 2025.
- Five writers call the service kind and none complains of it. The staff are very friendly; the owner and the staff are unfailingly so; the kindness is part of why the evening works; still as kind as ever. Three record something specific: being asked whether they wanted honey on the frozen yoghurt, being able to ask for the music down beside the speaker, and — for the writer who cut her forehead on a corner — being asked after it on every visit since. One regular notes that the same owner runs the Korean bar Nuruk nearby, and puts the occasional promotions down to his being young. Two writers report a stamp card shared across three bars: anyone who drinks around Moran, one says, knows that Nuruk, Ballhigh and this place run together and the card works at all of them — the other walked straight over with a card stamped at the izakaya.

Parking
7 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

There is no parking — seven writers say so and none says otherwise. No car park of its own; use the public ones nearby; the building will not take a car. Four name somewhere: the Jungwon senior centre lot at ₩400 per half hour, the Jungseong-1 street lot at the same rate and free after six on weekdays, the Needsmall lot at ₩1,500 per half hour, and the Moran market lot. But one writer is blunt about it: those first two are where you go, and they are always full. Two therefore tell you not to drive at all — it is a bar, take the train; it is walkable from the station, leave the car. Nobody records actually parking: the three who quote prices are copying signage, and none of them paid it. For a bar that closes at six in the morning, that follows.

Getting there

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 2 (of 26 posts read) |
|---|
Not one writer says which floor it is on, or whether there are steps to get in. Every "1F" in these twenty-six posts comes from the check-in widget's address line or a copied information block, not from anyone standing at the door. A copied address is not an observation. Plenty describe the outside — a white-tiled building in an alley near the station; a red neon sign on raw concrete that makes it easy to find; an orange neon that is the first thing you see once it is dark; not on the main road, so bring a map — but not a word about a stair, a lip or a door. Whether there is an upstairs, whether there is a step out to the alley tables, whether the path to that garage-like space with the toilet in it is level: nobody wrote it down.
Nobody writes about getting in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. The words wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, threshold and step do not appear once across the twenty-six posts. That is not the same as there being none; it is that we could not check. Nor is there much to reason from: the address is a ground-floor unit, but that is the register talking; the seating is split between inner tables, a sofa section, a counter and the alley, so how far you can get may differ by seat; and the toilet is outside in what one writer calls a garage. Nobody measured any of it. No post describes bringing a child, and none mentions a high chair — which, for a bar that closes at dawn, follows.
The toilet is not inside the bar — and neither writer who mentions it is happy about it. One says only that it being outside is a small mark against the place. The other is specific: the toilet is in poor condition, out of the entrance and left into what looks like a garage, where there is a small, shabby room — and cold. The phrase "separate men's and women's" appears in two posts, but both times inside a header list alongside wifi and pets allowed, the shape of a copied Naver listing, so we have not counted it. Whether they really are separate, how many there are, whether the doors lock: nobody looked. This is a bar open until six in the morning, and the toilet is out by the garage.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Two of the twenty-eight confirmed posts were taken out of the count. One opens with "opening hours: no information" and "details: not provided", then recites ten menu lines and ends with how many reviewers rated the food good — a Naver listing copied wholesale, with no account of a visit anywhere in it. The other is a month of diary entries whose only trace of the bar is an automatic check-in widget. The twenty-six that remain are twenty-six people on twenty-six different blogs. Not one discloses sponsorship. Nine state outright that they paid their own way, and one discloses a miniature frozen yoghurt received for writing a review — they paid for their own food. Two more mention something given free, avocado cod roe and a yoghurt, and both describe themselves as regulars. One writer closes with a joke offering to write a properly enthusiastic post if the owner ever wants to sponsor one, which we read as a statement that this one was not. What is worth flagging is that nine of the twenty-six say they are returning customers. A regular's verdict does not weigh the same as a first-timer's.
- The hours are much of the point, and the closing time is not settled. Fifteen posts give 18:00–06:00 and four put last orders at five in the morning. One writer wonders aloud whether the staff are not exhausted, and calls it a bar where you never have to worry about closing; another says they will stop waiting for the first train and just come here. But one January 2025 post says it closes at four — and that is one of the two earliest posts we have. Whether it changed or that writer got it wrong, we cannot tell. Two posts, from March and April 2025, add that on the first Monday of each month it closes at four. No 2026 post mentions that, and we cannot tell whether the rule went away or simply went unmentioned. Two writers note it never closes for a holiday. If your plan depends on the small hours, check first.
- One writer split her forehead open here. In a January 2025 post she points, with a photograph, at the corner she walked into — it bled — and adds that the owner asks after it every time she comes back now. Her own account is affectionate rather than angry, but a dark bar with something at head height is worth writing down. Four writers describe the lighting as dim and deliberately so — one recommending it for a blind date — and one complains that their photographs came out too dark. It is the only injury in twenty-six posts, and whether that corner is still there we cannot say.
- Here is what nobody wrote, and so we cannot answer. Whether there is wifi — the word appears twice, both times in a header list beside pets and toilets, so we have not counted it. Pets are the same: five posts say animals are welcome and all five are copying a list, and not one writer brought a dog. Only one adds a condition, that it means the outside tables, and that too is their own summary. We do not know how many seats there are: one writer calls the room small but well used and another calls it fairly spacious, nobody counted, and the tally runs one for roomy against three for cramped. Whether you can book the place out rests on a single line in one post. And things change: a September 2026 writer reports the menu had been completely redone, while a regular records that the basil ham cutlet she loved has gone. Read the prices and dishes here against the dates of the posts they came from.
