Yurae

유래 The shop writes its name 有來 on Instagram — literally 'having come'; read as an everyday Korean word, yurae also means 'origin'.

Yurae is a Korean set-course drinking spot on the ground floor of Okjeongdong-ro 5na-gil 97, in the R6 block of Okjeong, Yangju. There is nothing to choose: about ten plates arrive in turn — greens and steamed egg, then octopus, fried mackerel, braised pork ribs, pollack soup and a tempura finish — for 50,000 won a head, with drinks on top. Bookings are taken for two seatings, 5 pm and 8 pm, and guests sit around a counter. We read 26 posts from 12 December 2025 to 20 October 2026; 4 turned out to be about something else, 18 describe a meal there, and 4 only introduce the place.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seating is at a counter: five posts describe sitting in a row facing the kitchen. One gives a maximum of 12 guests, another counted 11 that evening, and two December 2025 posts mention partitions between places.
  2. You book ahead: nine posts reserved through Naver or by phone. A March 2026 8 pm visitor found it already full, as did a February Saturday dinner; one February 5 pm visitor, on the other hand, had the room to themselves.
  3. Ordering a drink is required, four posts say; one June 2026 visitor who noted a pregnancy when booking was offered alcohol-free beer instead.
  4. Thirteen posts comment on the owner and staff, and what they describe is mostly free pours — a glass of sweet-potato shochu or grape baijiu to go with the oysters, a draught beer re-poured because it was too foamy. One post got bellflower root for a cough, another candles and dessert plates for a birthday.
2 more
  1. Five posts say it is a lot of food — one left the tempura unfinished, another joked about being force-fed, and a February 2026 group asked for a 30-minute pause in the courses.
  2. Thirteen posts call the fried dishes crisp, several adding that the batter doesn't scrape the roof of your mouth. (Claims about expensive batter flour came from the owner, so we don't count them.)

Parking

4 posts say you can park; 3 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 18 posts

Parking reports split: four posts say there are spaces in front (two say about two cars), three say there is no lot and you park in the side streets, and one parked wherever there was room. A May 2026 driver had to circle the block.

Where it is

Map showing where Yurae is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

1 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post describes what floor it is on from experience; only the address says ground floor.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in — we don't know, which is not the same as saying there isn't one.

One post mentions a companion going to the toilet; nobody says whether it is inside the shop or separate by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-202 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post went by public transport: bus 81 from Deokjeong Station, which stops right outside. Nobody describes any other route.
  • No post describes queuing — it runs on reserved seatings — and nobody says what happens if you turn up without a booking.
  • Three posts say a seating lasts two and a half hours, but actual meals differed: a May 2026 5 pm group was done by about 6:30, a February group ate from 5 to 7:30.
  • The course changes with the season. Posts from December 2025 to February 2026 list steamed egg, half-shell oysters, gwamegi, ox-head meat and a spicy octopus or squid stir-fry; posts from late February to June 2026 list crab soup, octopus with spring greens, doenjang pasta and smoked duck. Nobody describes a meal after June.
  • Every post gives the course price as 50,000 won a head; five felt it was good value and one wondered whether it was worth it. Drinks are extra and only one post prices them (40,000 won for a bottle of sake), so we can't say what a full evening costs.
  • Five posts note it is adults-only. Several repeat the shop's notice that children are allowed during private family bookings (500,000 won per seating, 1,000,000 won for the day), but nobody actually went that way.
  • Seven posts give hours of 5–11 pm, six a last order of 9:30, and eight a Monday closure — largely copied from the shop listing; one says 11:30 pm. One visitor saw the Monday closure on the sign outside. Bookings are by Naver or phone (0507-1366-3090), a number eight posts give identically.
  • Three posts from October 2026 share the same wording and order — wood-and-black interior, brewery pairings, private-hire prices — and describe no meal, so we didn't count them. The same hire notice and hashtag string appear in several visit posts too, though only one discloses sponsorship.
