Fried chicken

Kkanbu Chikin Okjeong-jeom

깐부치킨 옥정점 Kkanbu is Korean slang for a close buddy, the partner you team up with and share everything with in a game; Okjeong-jeom means the Okjeong branch.

Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →

A branch of the Kkanbu Chicken chain that opened in May 2026 in the Dietre Edu Forêt apartment shopping block in Okjeong, Yangju. People come for rotisserie chicken (garlic is the signature), the 'crispy six-pack' of whole legs and wings, and boneless chicken with draft beer. Prices quoted: boneless 22,000-24,000 won, half-and-half 21,000 won, tteokbokki 13,000 won. We read 13 posts dated 31 March 2025 to 21 October 2026. Five were about other places (the pizza shop next door, a barbecue restaurant, Seoul opening lists) and one was a delivery order, leaving six visits, all from May to July 2026. Two of those six come from the same person on two visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is an outdoor terrace in front. Four of the six visit posts mention it: one counted about three tables, one found it full on a weekday evening, and the opening-day visitor sat outside because the inside was full.
  2. Five of the six visit posts call the coating crisp. One said the six-pack crunched audibly and was not greasy; two noted that eating in means the chicken comes straight out of the fryer.
  3. Two posts describe going with a child, both by the same blogger. Both times staff warned that the crispy and bone-in fried chicken use a spicy marinade and suggested the boneless fried one for the child.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The registered address says second basement level, but no post says what floor it is on or whether you go down stairs; posts only describe the terrace out front.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no access.

No post describes the toilets from experience. One copied 'separate men's and women's toilets' from a listing; we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 7 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting splits one to one. A late-June post saw people waiting for tables in the evening (the writer got the last seat); an early-June post walked straight in on a weekday evening. Both say you can join the queue remotely through the Tabling app.
  • Portions split: one post found them a bit small, another found the six-pack meaty and the whelk noodles main-dish sized.
  • Saltiness splits one each: the curry boneless was called very salty, the half-and-half just right.
  • The opening-day post said food took a long while because the place was packed, and missed having a free snack with the beer while waiting. No later post mentions slow food.
  • Opening hours differ by date. Posts from 29 May and 3 June 2026 give 15:00-23:30 with last orders at 22:30; posts from 30 June and 6 July give 15:00-24:00 daily. All of these were copied from listings, so we cannot confirm a change in June. No post mentions a closing day.
  • No post covers getting here by subway or bus; the visitors were all neighbours who walked over.
  • On company we only have two family visits (one blogger) and one group gathering; no post describes going as a pair of friends or alone.
  • Three posts from May to July 2026 list individual prices, but none gives the total for a meal. One post called the whelk noodles on the pricey side.
  • Two posts by the same blogger give the phone number as 031-836-8868; one gives 031-863-8868, one digit off. No post says whether reservations are taken, though two describe remote queueing through the Tabling app.
