Hun Gopchang

훈곱창 Gopchang means pork or beef small intestines; the posts do not explain Hun, though the shop was earlier known in Pocheon as Huni-ne Gopchang, 'Hun's gopchang place'.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

Hun Gopchang is a pork-intestine restaurant in the Polyplaza 3 building in Okjeong's central shopping district, Yangju. The core dishes are vegetable gopchang (12,000 won a portion) and grilled makchang, seasoned or salted (19,000 won); the two-person Makmyeodeul set of both plus fried rice is 31,900 won. There is also bean-sprout gopchang and gopchang hot pot (20,000 won small), and the meal ends with fried rice (3,000 won). Posts from April 2026 describe it as newly opened in Okjeong; before that it appears to have been in Pocheon, and one August 2025 post visited a 'Hun Gopchang' on Wangbang-ro there. We read 8 posts from September 2025 to October 2026, all of them visits (one at the Pocheon shop).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. After the first round of side dishes, you refill them yourself at a self-serve bar; three posts said so. One listed perilla leaves, roasted laver, pickled radish wraps, pickled onion and garlic, and another described wrapping the gopchang in perilla leaf and dried laver.
  2. Three posts said the intestines had no off smell, and none said otherwise. One liked how plump the gopchang was and how well it had been cleaned.
  3. The seasoning runs light. Two posts said it was under-seasoned rather than salty, one calling it much weaker than expected. No post found it too salty.
  4. Four posts called the room clean. Two mentioned brick-look walls and wood tones, and one counted about seven tables.

Posts saying you can park1 of 8 posts

Only one post described parking as if from experience: use the building's underground lot and have it validated at checkout. That post reads like promotion and gives no prices. Two other posts carried a copied 'parking available' line, which we did not count.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 8 posts read)

Only one post mentioned the floor: ground level of the Polyplaza building.

No post said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. We don't know.

No post said where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Posts differ on heat: one said even people who can't handle spice would be fine, another called it moderately spicy.
  • Three posts said the shop moved here from Pocheon, but all were repeating what they had heard. One said the Pocheon shop, Huni-ne Gopchang, changed owners before moving to Okjeong. We did not count details from the August 2025 Pocheon post, such as its closing time, as facts about the current shop.
  • No post described getting there by train or bus; one only said it was easy to find.
  • No post mentioned waiting for a table. One booked for 8 p.m., and one got food five minutes after ordering. That means no one wrote about a queue, not that there isn't one. One post ordered the makchang early because it takes longer.
  • Two posts went with friends (one brought a dog, looking for a pet-friendly restaurant) and one with family; the rest didn't say clearly who they went with.
  • Opening hours appear in three posts, all copied from listings: 4 p.m. to midnight, last order 11 p.m. The closing day differs — no closing day with Sunday until 11 p.m. in April 2026, Tuesday in May, Sunday in September. One post was turned away once because ingredients ran out and once on the regular day off.
  • Prices come in two snapshots: single dishes in May 2026 (vegetable gopchang 12,000 won, makchang 19,000, fried rice 3,000) and sets in September (Makmyeodeul 31,900 and others). No item appears in both, so we can't tell whether prices changed. The 2,900-won soju and beer in April were an opening promotion. One post got a free drink for a receipt review.
  • Two posts gave the phone number as 0507-1313-7110 and one as 031-868-7110. One post visited with a reservation.
