Dameun Sujebi

담은수제비 Dameun comes from damda, 'to put into' or 'to fill' a bowl; sujebi is hand-torn wheat-dough soup.

Dameun Sujebi is a sujebi and kalguksu house on the outskirts between Goeup and Okjeong in Yangju. The draw is the banban pot, split between a mild potato broth and a sharper kimchi broth, at 9,000 won a head, with chive or zucchini pancakes at 10,000 won. The pot arrives nearly cooked and simmers two or three more minutes at the table; rice and sikhye are free at the self-serve bar. We read 19 posts from November 2024 to October 2026; 8 are about this place and 7 describe a visit, all written between 11 September and 20 October 2026. Three went with family, one with a partner, one with a friend.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All seven visit posts call the pancakes crisp: the chive one 'like it was deep-fried', the zucchini one still crisp after cooling. One post says two people were full on a two-person pot plus one pancake; four posts in all say the portions were generous.
  2. The self-serve bar has a rice cooker and sikhye, both free. Five posts say they helped themselves to the sikhye, one twice before and twice after the meal, another noting it came icy. Two posts topped up radish salad and kimchi there, under a sign asking diners to take only what they will eat.
  3. Five posts call the room spacious and six call it clean, mostly pointing to the wide gaps between tables; one mentions full-height windows letting in sun. One post found the restrooms roomy and clean, with a large diaper-changing area in the women's room.
  4. Two posts went with children and two saw high chairs. One says the kitchen left the chili out of the zucchini pancake once told a child was eating; another describes a kids' option of noodles or sujebi made without pepper or chili.

  1. Three posts walked straight in — around 5:30 pm, around 6:30 pm, and late in the evening — though two noticed a steady stream arriving after them. Nobody went at the lunch peak, so we don't know about waits then.

Getting inside

Separate restrooms1 of 7 posts

No one describes the floor from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether they came in with a wheelchair or stroller. That is a gap in what was written, not evidence either way.

Only one post mentions the restrooms, and it does not say whether they are inside the dining room.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 8 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post says there is no station or bus stop nearby and it is hard to reach without a car. Another copies directions — buses 81, 99 or 118 to Goeupgyo, then 150 m down an alley past a car wash — but nobody actually went by bus.
  • Five posts give the same hours — 10:00 to 21:00, break 15:00 to 17:00, closed Tuesdays — all copied from the listing; three add last orders at 20:30. One post alone says there is no afternoon break on weekends.
  • All prices come from September–October 2026: 9,000 won per person from one post that read the menu board, 18,000 for two in two posts, 27,000 for three in one, all consistent. We have nothing earlier.
  • A blurb copied into one post says the owners ran a pub in Uijeongbu for 15 years before moving and reopening as a sujebi specialist. That is the shop's own story; we did not count it and have no posts about the earlier place.
  • Two posts give the same phone number, 0507-1365-6618. Nobody says whether tables can be booked; one copied note says samgyetang is made to pre-order.
