Bongpyeong Ongsimi Memil Kalguksu Yangju Okjeong
봉평옹심이메밀칼국수 양주옥정점 Bongpyeong is the Gangwon buckwheat town; ongsimi are Gangwon-style grated-potato dumplings and memil kalguksu is buckwheat knife-cut noodle soup — the house's two signature dishes in one bowl.

A potato-dumpling and buckwheat-noodle house on the ground floor of 28 Okjeongdong-ro 5ra-gil, in the R6 shop-and-housing block of Okjeong, Yangju. The signature ongsimi buckwheat kalguksu was 10,000 won in all six posts that priced it; dumplings-only is 12,000, buckwheat crepe 11,000, potato pancake 10,000. Fifteen posts describe a small bowl of barley rice with radish salad and kimchi arriving first, to mix with gochujang. The broth comes up again and again as thick with perilla seed. We read 30 posts from May 2025 to August 2026; 13 were about other places (a makguksu house in Samsung-dong, a same-name branch in Mapo) and set aside, leaving 17 visits here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Warm buckwheat tea sits on the table in a thermos instead of water — seven posts mention it; two say cold water comes separately or on request.
- Seven posts called the prices easy on the wallet, around 10,000 won a bowl. None said expensive; one just called them ordinary for a restaurant.
- Four posts said the seasoning is mild, not salty. The pollock bibim makguksu is the exception: four found it spicy, while one said it was not spicy at all, even for people who can't handle heat.
- Four posts mention high chairs. Two families with small children (September and December 2025) wrote that the staff made a separate bowl of barley rice with seasoned seaweed for the child, and one brought a stroller inside and parked it by the table.
1 more
- Four posts describe it as quiet. Many visited at a late lunch or mid-afternoon; one noted there is no break time, so a late meal works.

Parking
4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Expect no dedicated lot. Of four posts that parked or described parking, one said one or two cars fit out front and suggested side streets or walking; another said you park in front or on the street and may need to circle at the lunch peak. One parked right outside at a late lunch; another had staff direct them to a spot out front. The 'parking available' line in listing blocks is copied info and not counted.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Step-free access | 1 of 17 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 3 of 17 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 17 posts |
No one described the floor from experience; only the address says ground floor. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is nothing to know.
No one wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair access; one post only mentions rolling a stroller inside.
Three posts note the restroom is inside the restaurant; two say it is separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Three posts had no wait (at lunch, 2 pm and 3 pm). But one group in August 2025 found no table big enough and went next door (that post is about the other place, so not counted), and weekend crowds are hearsay. One post mentions an indoor waiting area.
- No one described getting here by subway or bus; one post says it is about a 10-minute walk from Okjeong Lake Park.
- Three posts came with family; one with friends and one alone. Too few to say how it suits a group of friends.
- Eleven posts list hours as 10:00-21:00 daily, mostly copied listing info. No one mentioned a closing day or last order; one post noted from experience that there is no break time.
- From May 2025 to May 2026 the ongsimi kalguksu stayed at 10,000 won. The pollock bibim makguksu is 10,000 won in four posts but 12,000 in one from July 2025.
- Five posts give the phone number 0507-1345-2999. 'Reservations' appears only in copied listing blocks; one post phoned an order ahead and ate without waiting, noting the dumplings are cooked to order and take about 10 minutes.
