Dirty Trunk

더티트렁크 Deotiteureongkeu An English name, 'Dirty Trunk' — the house plays up a rough, factory look, and one reviewer joked that the 'dirty' fits its over-the-top drink plating.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

A two-storey, factory-style bakery café at 114 Jimok-ro in Munbal-dong, next to Paju Book City. Besides bread and coffee it serves brunch, burgers and pasta. Three posts put an americano at 5,500 won; the classic brunch plate is 19,800 won. You pick bread onto a tray, pay at the counter, and collect drinks when your buzzer goes off. We read 30 posts dated 20 November 2024 to 21 October 2026; 12 were written by people who went. We set aside 8 that were really about neighbouring places, and did not count 10 roundup or itinerary posts.

Rows without a count: 3 of 8 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight visit posts describe seasonal decorations. Five from October 2026 show Halloween — rows of pumpkins at the entrance, pumpkins hung from the ceiling, flickering pumpkin lights. Posts from November 2024 and December 2025 show Christmas: LED reindeer and trees. One post saw a big artificial-flower chandelier it took to be that season's display. Expect the look to change with the season.
  2. Two posts, from December 2025 and October 2026, got 15% off drinks by showing a same-day receipt from Tasha's Garden, the Korean set-menu restaurant across the road. Both note that bread is excluded; an americano came to 4,675 won instead of 5,500.
  3. Four visit posts took food away. Staff don't wrap bread; after paying you bag it yourself at a self-service station beside the counter. One post found only flat paper bags there, and its cream-topped pastries were squashed by the time it got home.

Posts saying you can park8 of 12 posts

Eight visit posts parked here and all found plenty of space. Three mention staff directing cars; one mentions both a surface lot and an underground car park. One post says it still filled up at weekend lunchtime. Another left the car at Tasha's Garden across the road and walked over.

Getting inside

Second floor9 of 12 posts

Nine of the 12 visit posts mention the upper floor. Several pick the balcony overlooking the ground-floor counter, the bread cases and the three round windows as the photo spot. Tiered stair seating with cushions and low tables runs between the floors; one post thought it looked uncomfortable for a long sit. Another describes floor-to-ceiling bookshelves upstairs.

Posts describe a ground floor and an upper floor; none mentions seating below ground. One mention of an underground level refers to the car park. That isn't confirmation there's no basement, just that nobody wrote about one.

No post describes the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. A ramp and accessible parking appear only in a roundup post copying tourism-board accessibility data, which we didn't count. Nobody mentions a lift between floors; one post notes a 'mind the steps' sign at the tiered seating.

No post says where the toilets are from experience. One post's info box lists separate men's and women's toilets inside, but that's copied listing data, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-162 posts in one day
2026-09-182 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post arrived by bus or train. Only one says there are a few buses but it isn't easy, and recommends driving; everyone else came by car.
  • No post queued to get in. One found it quiet on a Friday around 1 pm. Another struggled to find a seat at about 4 pm, though it emptied by evening; a third says seats are hard to get on weekend afternoons. Nobody recorded a waiting time.
  • Two posts came as a couple and one with family. No post came with friends or alone.
  • Eight visit posts list opening hours: six give 9:30 am–9:30 pm and four a 9 pm last order. One from November 2024 gives a 9 am opening, and one gives 8 am–10 pm. Another says food orders stop at 8:30 pm. All of these are info boxes rather than first-hand notes; two say it opens every day of the year.
  • Opinions on price split. Two posts found drinks and brunch cheap for a café this size; another found drinks fairly pricey but the bread cheaper than expected, starting around 4,000 won. Two October 2026 posts disagree on the Nashville chicken burger: 19,500 won versus 20,500 won.
  • Two posts give the phone number 0507-148-8928; another says the café takes all enquiries through Instagram direct messages. No post tried to book or says whether reservations are taken.
  • Ten roundup posts repeat the same lines — American factory style, high ceilings, Nashville chicken burger, ample parking — in much the same order. One describes a hanok with a tiled roof, another puts it on the wrong street. We counted none of them.
