Haidojo Misa

하이도조 미사점 A ground-floor Japanese diner outside Misa station where you order at a kiosk and carry your own tray; the name is Japanese for "here you are, please"

Data as of · Published ·

Haidozo Misa is a Japanese home-cooking shop on the ground floor of a tower right outside exit 9 of Misa station. The name comes from the Japanese はいどうぞ — roughly 'here you are, please' — as one writer explains. Several say the yellow sign, with its big Japanese lettering, catches you from down the street. Nearly everything is self-service: order at the kiosk on the way in, collect your tray when your number is called, fetch water and side dishes from the bar, and clear your own tray at the end. The board runs to pork bowls, cutlet bowls, hotpots, curry, udon and cold buckwheat, almost all of it under ten thousand won for a single dish. Eleven in the morning to ten at night, last orders at half nine. Two writers mention that it is a chain. The posts we read run from February 2025 to September 2026.

What sets it apart

  1. Almost everything here you do yourself. You order and pay at a kiosk on the way in, your receipt carries a number, and when it comes up on the screen above the open kitchen you fetch the tray. Water, cutlery and side dishes come from the bar; you clear your own tray at the end. There is no paying cash — one writer notes the kiosk is the only way to order. One calls the place the fast food of Japanese restaurants; another reasons that she would rather do the fetching and have the food priced as it is. Not everyone loves it: a first visit can feel like a lot of steps. And if you are eating alone, says one, turn your earphones down so you hear your number.
  2. The prices have not moved in seventeen months. The small pork bowl is ₩6,900 in a February 2025 post and ₩6,900 in a July 2026 one; the cutlet bowl is ₩8,500 in September 2025 and in March 2026; the kimchi hotpot set is ₩11,500 in February and June 2025 and again in August 2026. More than ten posts record a price and not one of them contradicts another. Some version of 'how is this possible at today's prices' turns up repeatedly; three writers think of students, three of the office workers filling the room at lunch. Read the single dishes and the sets apart, though — the singles sit under ten thousand won, the sets at ₩12,500 and ₩12,900.
  3. The praise here is careful. Five writers reach for almost the same sentence: not a destination so much as a good cheap meal; nothing special, but nobody will dislike it; the taste is a solid average; worth a visit when you are in a hurry; not delicious exactly, but I left full. That is five people arriving separately at the same verdict, not one fussy palate. And yet the same people say they will be back — eleven posts state an intention to return and four record having already done so, one of them two days running. It does not read as a place people come to for the food. It reads as a place they keep ending up in, for the price and the speed.
  4. The room is laid out for people eating alone. More than ten posts note the single seats, and others the window bar and the partitioned booths. Nobody will look at you, says one; another rates the difficulty of eating alone here at the lowest there is; a third had only ever eaten alone in gukbap shops and thinks she could manage it here. Five writers came by themselves after an appointment — a clinic, a dermatologist, a scalp treatment, a dentist — and the same shape recurs: there are surgeries in the building and next to it, and this is where you end up afterwards. It cuts the other way for groups: one writer counts only four tables for two to four people and thinks it awkward with company, and the four-tops carry a sign asking for two or more.
  5. The yuja pickled radish on the self-serve bar is the most-praised thing in this shop. Seventeen posts mention the side dishes and six single that one out: tangy, sweet, a find, worth going back for. One writer noticed the other tables going up for seconds of it. What else is on the bar varies — cubed radish kimchi and the yuja radish in nearly every account, with mustard-leaf pickle, jangajji and takana each appearing once. Two posts say the rice, soup and curry can be topped up, but both phrase it as something you ask for or something they are told is done — neither writer describes having gone back for more.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is self bar banchan (셀프바 밑반찬 (유자단무지 · 깍두기 · 타카나)) — 17 of 23 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

Posts saying you can park6 of 23 posts

There is parking, and the writers do not agree on what it costs. Two say it is free; one says five hundred won per ten minutes. The rest give a bare 'parking available', a line that sits inside the copied run of Naver's facilities list and does not mean that writer parked. On the size they do agree — the building's car park is small and busy, one calls it a fight, another says there is not much room. One writer drove, looked, and put the car in a public lot nearby instead. You will have to find out the price when you get there.

Getting inside

Second flooryes 0 · no 2 (of 23 posts read)

No stairs and no lift — it is on the ground floor. Unit 104 of the tower outside exit 9, and more than ten writers say some version of the same thing: right at the exit, on the corner, impossible to miss for the yellow sign. Two note that the menu is posted on the glass, so you can decide before you go in. The building's name appears in only a handful of the posts, most of which give the street address alone.

Nobody looked at the door. Several note it is at street level, and one that you can see in through the glass front. But not one writer says whether there is a lip at the entrance, which way the door swings, or whether a chair could pass between the tables. One thing does give pause: five writers describe the room as small with the tables close together (one calls it roomy). A sign on the four-tops asks that they be used by two or more, and one solo diner moved seats because of it. If it matters, ring ahead and ask.

Not one post mentions a toilet. Of twenty-three writers, none says whether there is one inside, whether you use the building's, or whether men's and women's are separate. That is not the same as there being none — nobody used one, or nobody thought it worth writing down. People come here to eat quickly and leave, which may be why, though that is our guess and not theirs. On an accessible toilet there is, naturally, nothing.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • This is a subway shop. More than ten posts name exit 9 of Misa station on Line 5, and the distances they give agree with each other: straight out of the exit, a minute on foot, twenty-nine metres. The building is in view as you come up, so there is no hunting for it. Two posts do say five minutes' walk — and both are posts we excluded, one for giving a different street number, one for inventing its prices and menu. Nobody who actually ate there writes five minutes. No one mentions arriving by bus or bicycle.
  • There can be a line at meal times, and nobody writes about a long wait. Eight posts mention queueing, most of them in the conditional — there may be one, it gets busy at peak — and only two describe actually waiting. The rest make the same point: the line moves. Five call the turnover fast and five say the food comes out fast; one writer's udon arrived three minutes after she ordered it. One found the room nearly full on a Saturday lunchtime and got the last seat; one warns that there can be a queue from eleven, when it opens. Not one writer says the food was slow.
  • Not one post declares a sponsorship. Sixteen of the twenty-three state that they paid for the meal themselves; the other seven say nothing about money either way. A free drink for a receipt review comes up in five posts, and two of those writers took the cola. They paid for the food, but they were given something for writing about it, so we record it. It is worth remembering the three posts we set aside, too: one that invented its prices and a menu the shop does not serve, one that gave a different street number and never named a price, and one whose check-in is this shop but whose address, hours and car park belong to another Haidozo. All three recommend the place warmly.
