A small independent café on the ground floor of a low-rise block, down an eating alley in Gurae-dong, Gimpo. The sign is easy to miss — one writer circled the block twice with the navigation on, and another says it looks built into the building, so you could walk past without knowing it is a café. What it sells is Australian-style coffee — black, long black, flat white, and a signature cream latte — and bread baked in the shop every morning, chiefly a salted butter roll and an egg tart. One writer says it is run by the owner and his daughter. Nineteen of the twenty-eight mention dogs, which is a fair description of how this place is known. And nothing has gone up in price in two years: a chocolate scone was ₩3,300 in October 2024 and ₩3,300 in June 2026; a long black was ₩4,500 in November 2024 and ₩4,500 in June 2026. The posts we read run from October 2024 to September 2026.

What sets it apart
- Dogs are welcome, and nineteen of the writers say so. One reports a "We're Pet Friendly" card at the counter with the house rules beside it; another, a line painted by the outside tables reading "Dogs drink free". Five were given a water bowl and treats at no charge, two of them without asking, and one was told there are treats sized for small, medium and large dogs. The rules have moved twice, though. A writer who came in December 2025 was told dogs were no longer allowed inside and that they would have to sit on the terrace; they did, in the cold, and the owner brought a blanket out. Four writers from March 2026 onward photographed a notice saying the rules changed on 1 March 2026, one adding that you should bring vaccination records. Whether that means indoors again or still the terrace only, the posts do not settle — the 2026 writers say only that dogs are allowed, never where they sat. Ask before you go. Nobody reports being turned away.
- It is small — eleven writers say so, and one says the opposite. Those who count get different numbers: four tables in January 2026, four or five in May and July 2025, six in March 2026, five inside and two out in September 2025, seven in August 2025, seven or eight in September 2026, nine in June 2025. Two-tops and four-tops, with a bar along one wall, by two accounts, every table paired with a different chair and lit by a different lamp. Small as it is, three call it good for coming alone and three did. On working here the accounts split: two make it their favourite place for a laptop and a book, while a third found it awkward for a laptop and says most people come to drink coffee and talk.
- There are tables outside the door — fourteen writers mention them. Two count about two of them; two describe camping chairs on a wooden deck. They were not always there: a January 2026 writer says the terrace is new. The alley is quiet enough to sit in, one notes. One watched a large dog settle out there with its owner, another a cat. It is seasonal, though: one July visitor found it too hot to sit outside, one December visitor sat there anyway and was cold, and one in May moved indoors because of the pollen.
- Twelve writers describe the owner, and none of them unkindly. What they record is specific: a customer who spilled coffee was waved off, the floor wiped, the toilet pointed out and the coffee remade (September 2025); a customer disappointed to find no salted rolls left was given yesterday's, free (November 2025); a customer sitting outside in December was brought a blanket; one eating an apple drink was handed a separate spoon for the fruit (March 2026); one was shown how to eat the toast, spreading the ice cream across it like butter (May 2025). Two note that orders are carried to the table. One was asked, with some surprise, whether it was really their first time here.

- The bread is baked here every morning and the day's line-up goes up on Instagram — eight writers mention the baking, six the Instagram post. The brewing and the baking are both in view, and two say you walk into coffee and pastry at once. Which means that late in the day there is not much left. One found the egg tarts and cookies gone at six in the evening; one, at five, found almost no dessert at all; one was told there were no salted rolls that day. A regular explains it: each thing takes enough work that large batches are not possible. One was told the rolls come out around one in the afternoon.

There is parking to the left of the shop, and ten writers raise it. Three count the spaces: one says two, two say four. One arrived on a Saturday afternoon and found room; one found the yard too tight and left the car on the street. Two say it is hard here because the alley is an eating strip, and one recommends walking instead. Four note a sign telling you to ask inside if the spaces are taken. One records that the Gimpo local-currency card works here, and one a fuel-subsidy voucher.

Getting inside

Nobody writes which floor it is on. The registered address is unit 101, and between the writer who says it looks built into a residential block and the fourteen who describe tables on a deck at the door, it reads as street level — but no one actually says so. No mention of an upstairs or a basement, none of a lift or a staircase. Two writers could not find the sign at all — one circled the block twice with the navigation running — so on a first visit it is worth having the unit number with you.
Not one of the twenty-eight says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair gets in. The words step, threshold and ramp do not appear anywhere. Three things are established: there is a wooden deck with tables at the door (fourteen posts); the room inside is small, somewhere between four and nine tables (seven posts); and the toilet is outside the building, reached by walking round towards the car park (three posts). That last is worth knowing separately from whether you can get to a chair. Whether there is a step at the door, we do not know.
The toilet is not inside. You go out for it. Three writers describe it and they agree. The fullest account, from May 2026: you take a key that hangs in the shop, walk out towards the car park on the left, follow a sign down a side passage and find a door marked with the café's name. Another, from September 2025, places it directly behind the building. Men's and women's are separate, by two accounts. It is not especially clean: one writer calls it usable but no more, and says it smells — enough to cost the place a star in their rating. Another scores hygiene three out of five and explains it as the outdoor toilet against an interior they call very clean indeed. On the inside being clean, three writers agree.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The hours have changed twice in two years, and an old listing will send you on a wasted trip. From October 2024 to January 2026, twelve writers all give 10:00–20:00, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. From March to early July 2026, four give 09:00–20:00 on weekdays, 10:00–20:00 at weekends, closed Tuesdays only — an hour earlier, and one closed day fewer. From late July to September 2026, four keep those hours but move the closed day to Monday. So check the Instagram before going on a Monday or a Tuesday; one writer recommends checking it anyway, in case of an unannounced day off. Two accounts sit outside all this. A single June 2025 post gives a 22:00 closing where eleven others from the same months give 20:00. And one June 2026 post opens with a block reading "closed Thursdays, 09:00–21:00 weekdays, 11:30–21:00 weekends" — figures that appear nowhere else in twenty-eight posts, in a block whose parking line also contradicts ten first-hand accounts, so we have treated it as invented and left it out. As for an afternoon break, one January 2026 post gives 16:00–17:00 and the other twenty say nothing. No one gives a last-order time.
- Not a place people queue for, but the seats do run out. Not one of the twenty-eight describes waiting. One writer from October 2024 does say it is full whenever they go, weekday or weekend, and that they have turned round and left for want of a seat. Another found even the wall bar taken on a Saturday afternoon, and a third noticed a steady flow on a weekday lunchtime. Others found it empty: one arrived on a weekday afternoon to find the owner chatting with a friend, and three describe it as quiet enough for people to read in. Booking is listed among the amenities, but no writer says they booked.
- Only three writers say how to get here. One gives 916 metres from exit 4 of Gurae station on the Gimpo Goldline — a figure lifted from the listing; one says simply near exit 4; one judges for themselves that the station is close enough to come by train. Nobody gives a walking time. The other twenty-five do not raise the question at all, and between the ten who discuss parking and the several who call it their local or say it is by their house, most of them seem to drive or to live within walking distance. One places it near three local schools, another notes a park close by that makes it a good stop after a walk.
- There is more than one of these — there is another in Mokdong, in Seoul. An October 2024 writer mentions a second branch there, near where they used to live; a July 2025 writer says the Gimpo shop is the original. That is the whole of the evidence, two posts, and what we read is the Gurae-dong shop. One of the signature drinks is called the Mokdong Latte, and nobody says whether the name refers to that branch. There appear to be two Instagram accounts as well: posts from 2024 and early 2025 give one handle, a June 2026 post another, and which is current the posts cannot settle. None of the thirty discloses sponsorship or a free meal; four state they paid.
