AW Convention is a six-storey wedding hall on Gwangdeok 1-ro in Danwon-gu, Ansan, registered with the city as a buffet. The food is served only on days there is a wedding, and only to that wedding's guests: you hand in a meal ticket at the banquet floor after leaving your congratulatory envelope. You cannot walk in off the street and buy lunch here. There are three ceremony halls — the dark, self-contained Grand Ballroom on 3, and the bright, glass-walled Patio and Terrace Ballrooms sharing a lobby on 6 — and you are directed down to one of the banquet rooms on 3, 4 or 5 to eat. The posts we read run from November 2025 to September 2026. Of the thirty posts that matched this address we counted thirteen. Fourteen were about a nearby café, florist or estate agency and used the hall only as a landmark; two were the same copy rewritten twice, both carrying a wedding-planning site's referral code; and one was a bride trying on dresses at the shop inside the building, with nothing about food in it at all.

What sets it apart
- The queue here is for the food, not the door. The two sixth-floor halls run on staggered times but share the banquet floor below, and guests describe waiting ten or fifteen minutes at each station, with older relatives grumbling about the length of the line. A staff member tries to spread people out — 'the Western counter is long, start with the Japanese or Korean' — and one guest who took that advice came back to find the Western queue had doubled. The first ceremony of the morning is the calm one: nobody from an earlier sitting is still there.
- Without a car, take the shuttle. Guests put the walk from Gojan station (Line 4 and the Suin-Bundang line) at twenty to thirty minutes, which is why a yellow shuttle bus runs from outside exit 2 on weekend wedding days. It leaves when it fills rather than on a timetable — roughly every ten to fifteen minutes — and the ride is about ten. You have to come out of exit 2, cross the car park and reach the main road before you can see it, and since other wedding halls send buses to the same spot, check that the one you board says AW Convention. One guest notes the shuttle keeps running until two hours after the ceremony.
- The height of the rooms is what this place sells. Writers quote ceilings of eight to ten metres, and several say the lobby is tall enough that a crowd never feels close. The two halls on the sixth floor have full-height glazing, so a daytime ceremony starts in natural light; the curtains close as the ceremony begins and open again for the recessional, which several guests describe as the moment the room changes character. One says that even on a rainy day the room brightened when the curtains drew back. The aisle is long and raised enough to see from the back — though one guest found the table flowers tall enough to block the view from a few seats.
- Coffee happens on the ground floor, not at the table. The banquet room sets out soft drinks and juice but no coffee, which one guest missed; another was told to go down to the lobby for it afterwards, and a third found the machine there. Two guests point out the KB Bank cash machine in the same lobby, handy if you arrive without an envelope prepared. Alcohol is not part of the buffet and appears to be charged separately. One guest describes the fizzy drinks as flat enough to taste like sugar water.

Parking is what guests write about most. The basement car park fills as the ceremony hour comes round, and the marshals wave you across to the public lot or into one of the nearby parking towers — one guest was told the spaces by the door are for the couple's parents only, another watched elderly relatives fail to get in. Wherever you end up, two hours are free and after that it is ₩1,000 per ten minutes. Sitting through a ceremony and then eating takes longer than two hours, and several guests report paying ₩7,000–8,000 on the way out. Two say the ramp into the parking tower is narrow enough to frighten a new driver; one wishes afterwards they had simply used the public lot opposite the entrance. One guest notes the tower and the basement give you the two hours automatically, while the public lot has to be validated.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Lift to the floor | 3 of 13 posts |

You do not eat on the ground floor. The ceremony is on 3 or on 6, and you are then directed down to one of the banquet rooms on 3, 4 or 5. The ground floor is lobby and booking office; the second is a hair-and-makeup salon and has nothing to do with the meal. One guest was relieved to find an escalator from 6 down to 5 rather than another lift queue; another gave up on the lifts entirely and took the stairs. Writers count the lifts as either three or four.
We do not know whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Not one of the thirteen posts mentions a step at the door, a ramp, or an accessible toilet. There are lifts, and an escalator from the sixth floor down to the fifth, but nobody who writes about this place came in on wheels. A single guest says the toilets were clean; no one says where they are or how many. This is silence, not a no.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 16 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Not one post says what a meal here costs. Guests hand in a ticket, so nothing on the plate carries a price, and every post about what the couple pays ends the same way — leave your email in a private comment and I'll send you the quote — without a figure in the text. That it is expensive is on the record: a bride who toured the Ansan halls calls it the dearest of them, says the price is fixed with next to no discount, and notes a 200-guest minimum at peak times; another lists the lack of a discount as the one drawback. The only number we can confirm is the parking: two hours free, then ₩1,000 per ten minutes.
- Do not take the '10:00–19:00 daily' at face value. Four posts print it, and all four pasted the whole Naver listing into the top of their piece: those are the booking office's hours. The banquet floor opens only when there is a wedding, and only to that wedding's guests — everyone we read went in on a ticket. There is one way in for an outsider, and it is narrow: a couple who have booked the hall may reserve a tasting of the buffet, taken by phone only from two weeks ahead, at 10:20 in the morning and no other time. Ceremonies run seventy minutes apart, and the banquet room is yours for two hours.
- Some of this was paid for, and the food is about to change. One of the thirteen posts we counted says in its first line that the writer received points towards wedding supplies for promoting a wedding-planning site; none discloses anything from the hall itself. The two posts we struck out carried the same site's referral code on identical copy. And a bride who toured in September 2026 relays what she was told at the consultation: the halls and the banquet rooms are being refitted next year, the food is going up a notch, and draught beer will be unlimited. Everything described above is the buffet as it stood before that work.
