Jinmidang Mandubbang

진미당만두빵 Jinmi is a Korean word for fine or true flavor and -dang means house or shop; mandu-ppang just means dumplings and bread, the two things it sells.

A yellow-signed shop at 1458 Pyeonghwa-ro in Deokgye-dong, Yangju, across from Deokgye Park, selling handmade dumplings and old-style doughnuts and buns for takeaway only. Dumplings are steamed to order in the steamers out front. On the February 2025 menu a box of eight dumplings was 4,500 won and six large dumplings 5,500 won; sugar doughnuts, twists and plain doughnuts were 1,000 won for two, and the vegetable bun 2,000 won. We read 11 posts from February 2025 to October 2026; 9 were by people who went themselves, and 2 were by people who ate what a husband brought home.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is nowhere to sit. Two posts said so outright (takeaway only, no tables), and another asked the owner's permission to eat standing up.
  2. Three posts said the dumplings go back into the steamers out front when you order; one also had its vegetable bun filled on the spot.
  3. You can watch the cooking. Four posts said they saw dumplings and bread being made in the kitchen; one described an elderly owner working with what looked like his son.
  4. Seven posts said it is cheap. One noted prices had gone up but still called them acceptable, so we did not count it either way. No post called it expensive.
2 more
  1. Cash gets 500 won off per box: one post ordered 4,500 won of kimchi dumplings and 1,000 won of doughnuts and paid 5,000 won.
  2. Four posts called the kimchi dumplings spicy, though in the sense of a mild kick rather than real heat.

Three posts parked in front of the shop, but one said the spaces are usually full and it normally uses the public lot, and another described the spot as good only for a quick stop.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

We don't know which floor it is on. The address says ground floor, but no post described it.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits. That doesn't mean there is a problem; nobody wrote about it.

No post mentioned a toilet, which may be because it is a takeaway shop with no seating.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Timing matters for the bread. A February 2025 post found only doughnuts, twists and roll cake around 1 pm on a weekend and was told the vegetable buns come out after 3:30 pm; a June 2025 post said some breads sell out before lunch.
  • Dumpling prices conflict. The February 2025 menu said 4,500 won, a June 2025 post said it had risen to 5,000 won, and a September 2025 post also noticed increases, yet a September 2026 post listed 4,500 won again. We cannot say what a box costs now.
  • Seven posts gave the same hours, 9:00 am to 9:30 pm and closed Mondays, but every one copied them from a listing; nobody reported hours from their own visit.
  • Five posts listed the phone number, 031-865-0049. Phoning ahead to reserve an order appears only in copied listing text; no post actually did it.
  • On public transport, all we have is one post saying it is close to a Deokgye-dong bus stop. Nobody wrote about arriving by bus or train, and the nearness to Deokgye Station comes from copied listing text.
  • No post waited in line. One only passed on hearsay that bread buyers can end up waiting if they come at the wrong time.
  • Few posts said who they went with: two drove there, one ate with parents, and none mentioned friends.
