A dessert cafe in a converted house at 82 Pyeonghwa-ro 1479beon-gil, Deokgye-dong, Yangju. It sells handmade walnut pie, scones, candied walnuts and egg tarts alongside Dutch coffee, a black-sugar black-soybean drink and house-brewed ssanghwa tea. Visitors report 2,500 won for a slice of pie, 1,500 won for a scone, 3,500 won for a Dutch americano and 8,000 won for ssanghwa tea. Beyond the main hall there are floor-seating rooms where you take your shoes off and a sofa area, and much of the business is gift orders and nationwide delivery. It moved here from Uijeongbu, where it was Cafe Monello, in autumn 2025 and took the name Hoeondam. We read 30 posts from 17 November 2025 to 8 October 2026; 19 are the shop's own blog and were not counted, leaving 11 visitor posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Five of the 11 visitor posts describe a floor-seating room, and three say you take your shoes off to go in. Posts from December 2025 and January 2026 mention an electric heating mat on the floor that kept it warm in winter; one adds that not every room has a heater and the other room felt a little cold.
- Four posts mention rooms set apart from the main hall; one counts two rooms, and another spent a long afternoon there with friends. One post found the partitioned sofa area a bit closed-in, with conversations audible through the divider.
- Of seven posts that mention sweetness, six say the walnut pie is not very sweet; one calls it moderately sweet.
- Five posts discuss price. Four, from January to March 2026, call it cheap or fair, one saying it is close to a miracle given current prices. A June 2026 post notes prices had gone up a little but still seemed reasonable. A whole walnut pie was 18,000 won (M) and 23,000 won (L) in November 2025, and the June 2026 post lists 20,000 and 25,000 won.

Parking
4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Four posts parked in the lot in front of the building, and one says it fits four or five cars. A post from someone who knew the old Uijeongbu shop notes that it had no parking. One more post only repeats listing info about parking, so we did not count it.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Step at the entrance | 1 of 11 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 11 posts |
No visitor wrote about which floor it is on. The 1st floor in the address is listing data; one post only says you climb a few steps to get inside.
One post mentions steps at the entrance, but nobody wrote about getting in with a wheelchair or stroller or about a ramp. That means no one wrote about it, not that it cannot be done. The floor-seating rooms require taking off your shoes.
One post places the restroom inside, behind a partition; two others only say it was clean or stocked with sanitary supplies. Nobody mentioned separate men's and women's rooms or an accessible toilet.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 19 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-01-13 | 2 posts in one day |

| 2026-01-05 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The shop moved from Uijeongbu, where it was Cafe Monello, to Deokgye-dong in autumn 2025. That comes mostly from the shop's own posts and hearsay; only one visitor post says they went to the old shop. Every visitor post we read is from after the move.
- The opening hours seem to have changed. Seven visitor posts from November 2025 to July 2026 give 10:00-19:00; three of them add last orders at 18:30 and five mention closing on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. The shop's own posts from September and October 2026 say it now opens at 08:30 on weekdays, 08:00 on Saturdays and 09:00 on Sundays, closing at 18:00 on Sundays, but no visitor post has confirmed this yet. It is worth phoning before you go.
- Some titles mention Deokgye Station, but no one wrote about walking from a station or bus stop. Two posts say it is tucked away in a residential side street and easy to miss; visitors who drove parked out front.
- No post mentions waiting; one says the place happened to be empty when they arrived. That means no one wrote about waiting, not that there is never a wait.
- Only two posts say who they came with, both with friends. None describe sitting in with family, children or alone, though one visitor stopped by with her dog.
- The phone number 010-4526-7803 comes from the shop's own posts, which ask that gift and bulk orders be booked ahead. No visitor wrote about reserving a table; one called the same morning to order a gift and had it ready right away.
- There is no typical bill since it is all desserts and drinks: visitors list drinks at 3,500-8,000 won and single pastries at 1,500-3,000 won. These figures come from visitor posts up to June 2026; later prices appear only in the shop's own posts.
