Beodeulgol Kalguksu

버들골칼국수 Beodeul is an old Korean word for willow and gol means a valley or village, so the name reads roughly 'willow valley'; the posts say nothing more about where it comes from.

A kalguksu and sujebi house on the ground floor of a two-storey standalone building at 131-6 Godeok-ro, Deokgye-dong, Yangju. Anchovy-broth kalguksu is 6,000 won, sujebi 6,500 won and a plate of dumplings 6,000 won (3,500 won for half). You order and pay at the counter first, and the food is brought to your table. Kimchi comes once with the meal; refills of kimchi and pickled radish are self-serve. We read 30 posts dated January 2025 to September 2026, 29 of them from people who ate there. One post recalls kalguksu at 4,500 won in 2023.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All 27 posts that talked about price called it cheap, many quoting the bill itself: two kalguksu and dumplings for 15,500 won, nothing on the menu over 10,000 won. Kalguksu is 6,000 won in every post from January 2025 to September 2026.
  2. Sixteen posts went back to the self-serve corner for more kimchi; one says it refilled the fresh geotjeori kimchi at least three times. Aprons, children's spoons and pickled radish sit in the same corner.
  3. Fourteen posts say the portions are large. One warns readers off the large size altogether, and another ordered only half a plate of dumplings for fear of leaving food.
  4. Twelve posts call the room spacious and 15 call it clean. The wide gaps between tables come up again and again; posts mention four- and six-seat tables, booth sofas and solo-diner tables. Two note the high ceiling.
3 more
  1. Eight posts went with children. Three saw the high chairs for themselves, and one fed a baby bottle in a partitioned booth. Of those that said who they went with, seven went as a family, six as a couple and two with friends.
  2. Four posts say the food came quickly, one timing it at five minutes. Two say it took a while, both visiting around 1:30 and 2 p.m. with the room still busy.
  3. Two posts mention public transport: one says Deokgye Station is too far to walk, the other puts it at about 20 minutes on foot, thinks there may be a bus, and says driving is easiest.

Parking

15 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park15 of 28 posts

Of 20 posts that touched on parking, 15 parked in the lot out front or called it roomy; the other five only copy a 'parking available' line. Two posts estimate its size, at about ten and at a dozen or so cars. One found three free spaces just after 1 p.m. on a weekday, another a full lot at 1:30. One post warns of a narrow bridge right before the lot entrance.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 28 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 28 posts

One post mentions the floor: the restaurant takes the ground floor of a two-storey building.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that it's a problem.

Two posts say the restroom is inside the restaurant; one notes separate men's and women's rooms, the other an entrance tucked behind a folding screen.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes actually queuing. One that arrived around 1:30 p.m. found the room full but no wait. Advice that there is a lunchtime line, and to come before 11:30 or after 1, appears only as tips, so we did not count it.
  • Opening hours appear in 19 posts and nearly all agree on 11:00 to 20:00, a break from 15:30 to 17:00, closed Mondays, though most of this is copied from listings and one post puts the break start at 15:00. No one gives a last-order time. An August 2026 post says the kalguksu noodles had sold out by the time it left, and a January 2025 post found sujebi sold out around 3 p.m.
  • Prices hold steady from January 2025, but one post recalls kalguksu at 4,500 won in 2023, since raised to 6,000. One post lists sujebi at 6,000 won and another the spicy sujebi at 7,000; everyone else says 6,500 and 7,500.
  • The spicy kalguksu and sujebi were described as new in a March 2025 post. The mixed kaljebi is unclear: a June 2025 post found none, an October 2025 post ordered it, and a March 2026 post says it seems to be gone.
  • Ten posts give the phone number, 031-858-5003. No one says whether reservations are taken.
