아담만두 상록수점 Handmade dumplings steamed to order at a takeaway counter opposite Sangnoksu station

Bunsik (snack food) · Ansan-si Sangnok-gu, Bono-dong

Data as of · Published ·

Adam Mandu is a handmade-dumpling takeaway on the ground floor of a building across the road from exit 3 of Sangnoksu station in Ansan. The board holds ten dumplings and one steamed bun, all at the same price — what changes is the count, not the cost: ten of the rolled ones, eight gyoza, five of the big ones and the prawn ones. Nothing is steamed until you order it: three minutes for the gyoza and the rolled ones, four for prawn and rib, five for the big ones and the bun, by a sign on the wall that eighteen posts either photograph or quote. Open from eight in the morning to eleven at night, every day of the year. It is not a place to sit down in, though — of the twenty-eight people we read, not one ate on the premises. Every one of them carried it home or had it delivered. The posts run from April 2025 to March 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. All twenty-eight carried it away, and not one ate it there. Nearly all of them ate at home. Two ate elsewhere: one in the car, pulled over on the way to an appointment, and one outdoors near the shop, who recommends it as picnic food. Sixteen ordered pickup through a delivery app, which is the commonest route; the rest simply walked up to the counter. Twelve note a ₩1,000 discount for app pickup, and one more got ₩1,000 off through a follow-the-shop coupon. The minimum spend is given as ₩12,000 in one post and ₩12,400 in another. Nine say that ordering ahead and arriving on time means no wait at all.
  2. Nothing is steamed until it is ordered, and eighteen posts say so. One writer states it flatly — none of it sits waiting; they start when you order. Several describe the steam coming off the baskets as they arrive. The times are posted on the wall: three minutes for gyoza and the rolled ones, four for prawn and rib, five for the big ones and the bun, and nine posts copy those numbers down. Two add that the sign warns of longer waits if someone is ahead of you, and one records a further line on it — check your bus times before you order. The bus stop is directly outside. Seven call it fast; nobody calls it slow.
  3. Twenty-three posts address whether the kimchi dumplings are hot, and sixteen come down on "not really". They overlap in their measures: three compare it to a mild instant noodle — one below it, two level with it. Two writers who call themselves poor with chilli both managed it comfortably. Even the rolled kimchi one, which the menu marks as the hot option, drew a flat "not hot at all to me". The seven who do call it spicy mostly qualify it as moderate or faint. One writer wanted more heat: she suspects they do not use sour kimchi, and wished it a touch hotter (April 2025). Three think a child could eat it.
  4. There is somewhere to wait, and seven writers saw it themselves — a spot inside for people picking up, described by one as somewhere warm to stand, and by another as chairs set out in front of the shop. They disagree about inside or outside: four say in, two say out front. One notes that although the steamers stand outside, a glazed screen keeps the warmth in. Two further posts list "waiting area" among the facilities, but that line is copied from the listing, so we have not counted it.
  5. One pedestrian crossing from exit 3 of Sangnoksu station, and twenty-three posts say so. Five of them measure it: 98 metres, under 100 metres, two minutes on foot (twice), and one outlier at five minutes, which reads generous against the other four. One writer came out of exit 1 by mistake and reports the extra walk as negligible. The bus stop is right outside — five recommend collecting while you wait for a bus, and one reports that the shop's own sign tells you to check the timetable before ordering. Two mention the orange sign, visible from a distance.
  6. Twelve posts write about the juice, and one writes the opposite. The twelve describe it bursting at the first bite; a post from 30 December 2025 says instead that it is not the bursting kind so much as the plain kind you keep reaching for. The two need not conflict — most of these people ate it after it had cooled. Six describe reheating, five of them in a microwave, with one steamer and one air fryer; one of them left it overnight in the fridge and still found it moist the next day, and another says the steamer brings it back. One simply laments that the commute home cost her the heat. Three note no pork smell; eight say it is not greasy.
  7. Four posts talk about the owner, and what they praise is not service but forethought — the chairs set out for people waiting ("a thoughtful sort", "someone with sense"), and the line on the steaming-times sign telling you to mind your bus. One describes a calm, unhurried welcome. Nobody reports being served badly. One writer notes that the counter can look empty: he is usually inside making dumplings, so press the bell and he comes straight out. Five call the shop clean.
  8. You can watch them being made — four posts say so, describing an open kitchen where the folding and the steaming are both in view, and one noting that they keep folding at the back between orders. Five more say the steam off the baskets is what drew them in from the street. The word "handmade" appears in twelve posts, but only those four report actually seeing it done; the rest are repeating the shop's own word for itself.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is gogi gyoja mandu (수제 고기교자만두) — 19 of 28 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

10 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot10 of 28 posts

There is no car park. Ten posts say so, and four go on to say where they left the car instead. Several note the building has no bays; eight point across the road to the public car park by the station (a ninth says the same in a copied facilities line, which we have not counted). One writer gives the rate — ₩600 per half hour — and recommends just using it, adding that the front of the station is too congested to risk pulling over. Two say you can stop briefly on the road outside, though the second of those is guessing from what she saw, not reporting what she did. If you are driving, the public car park is the safe answer.

Getting inside

Second flooryes 0 · no 2

No post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. The words for wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, threshold and step never appear across the twenty-nine. Two posts put the shop on the ground floor, so there are evidently no stairs, and it appears to open straight onto the pavement — but we have not confirmed it. Whether there is a step at the door, which way the door swings, how high the counter sits: nobody writes. Bear in mind too that nobody spends long inside — most collect at the door and leave.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The posts disagree about whether you can sit and eat. Five say you cannot — no eating area, too small a shop for anything but takeaway, no dining room set aside, a takeaway-and-delivery place, a place run mainly for takeaway. Three say you can, and all three hedge: a table you could eat at, one small table for a quick bite, a little seating where you could manage something simple. All three describe a single table, and none of the three actually sat down. Seven more posts mention chairs for waiting customers, which we have counted separately — a seat to wait in is not a seat to eat in. What this adds up to is a takeaway counter with a chair or two and one table. Do not go expecting to sit down to a meal.
  • The same dish appears at ₩6,000, ₩6,300 and ₩6,500, and the differences do not follow the calendar. An April 2025 post carries two of those prices at once; a September 2025 post is back at the lowest; November and December posts are at the highest. One April 2025 post explains it: the delivery app's prices differ a little from the counter's, and the app gives ₩1,000 off pickup in exchange. So it reads as ₩6,000 at the counter against ₩6,300–6,500 on the app, less the discount — but we have not confirmed it. Three posts record what they actually paid: ₩12,000 for two boxes twice, ₩11,600 once. Nobody calls it expensive; the four who discuss price all say the opposite.
  • Not one post mentions a toilet — inside the shop or out in the building. We searched the full text of all twenty-nine; the word never appears. Since nobody stays to eat, presumably nobody needed one. But that is "nobody wrote it down", not "there isn't one".
  • Two posts declare a sponsorship. A May 2025 post opens by saying it was written after being given a meal voucher through an agency — and it is also the largest order anyone here placed: seven items at once. That single post is the whole or half of our evidence that anyone ate the rib dumpling or the steamed bun. A November 2025 post carries a sponsorship tag among the hashtags of an embedded clip, alongside the same agency's name. The other twenty-six say nothing. The delivery-only post we excluded from the count insists it was paid for — and in the same breath notes a free extra dumpling for writing the review.
  • The opening hours come in two versions. Twenty-one posts give 08:00–23:00 with a last order at 22:30. Three give 08:00–22:30, with Wednesdays starting at 10:00 instead. Those three fall on 4, 19 and 25 November 2025 — inside a single month — and from December the posts are back to 08:00–23:00. It reads less like anyone being wrong than like the hours having changed for a while, but we have not confirmed it. If you are going late, ring first. Four posts say it never closes for a holiday and none names a rest day. Only one post states there is no midday break; the rest do not raise the subject. One gives a last order later than its own closing time, so we left that figure out.
  • It is a chain. One post says so outright, adding that the food explains why it became one (June 2025). There are other branches in Ansan alone — one of the thirty posts we collected turned out to be about the Ansan Jungang branch and was dropped, and another writer mentions one beside her lab. Check the branch when you are reading about this place. Two posts note the sign in the shop explaining the name as "upright and clear", and both say it made them trust the place.
