Gilpung is a restaurant serving Andong regional food at 8 Nabau-gil, Pungsan-eup, Andong; writers put it 5–13 minutes' drive from Hahoe Village. It serves heotjesabap (₩14,000 basic, ₩23,000 seonbisang), salted-mackerel set meals (₩14,000), Andong braised chicken (₩24,000 / ₩38,000 / ₩54,000) and Hanwoo bulgogi under one roof, plus an 'Andong Special' set that combines them (₩84,000 for two). It is a big hall with private rooms where tour-bus groups and families eat side by side. We read 30 posts dated 30 July to 23 October 2026; 27 describe an actual meal there, and the other 3 are listicles or TV-show roundups.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- This is a place built for groups. 21 posts call the hall spacious and 12 mention separate private rooms at the back, two describing hanok lattice sliding doors. Several writers walked in to find tables already laid for booked tour groups; tables are covered with disposable plastic sheets.
- Easy with children. Ten writers came with family, nine with children, and four noted high chairs. One family asked for the chicken 'a bit less spicy' and got it; another said the owner brought rolled omelette and laver for their toddler unasked. Writers said the soy-seasoned heotjesabap and mackerel suited children who cannot take heat.
- Portions are large: 14 posts say so. Three writers boxed up leftover chicken; one couple who ordered a small chicken plus the seonbisang left more than half the chicken. Four bought the sweet gamju to take home in a ₩5,000 container.
- Nine writers mention friendly owners and staff, with specifics: checking mid-meal whether side dishes needed topping up, holding the door and saying goodbye, handing over Andong soju to try.

Parking

Parking is not a worry. Of 27 visits, 24 mention the car park and 20 call it large. Several writers saw multiple tour buses parked there; one estimated room for 20–30 cars, free of charge. One family came here precisely because cars were queuing for the car park at Andong's chicken alley.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read) |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 27 posts |
Only one writer describes the building, as a single-storey tiled-roof house; no one else mentions floors or stairs. One post's address line says '1F', but that is copied, not observed.
Nobody described the entrance — whether there is a step, or whether a wheelchair or pram gets in. One writer found the wide table spacing handy for a pram but said nothing about getting in. 'Accessible facilities' and 'disabled parking' appear only in copied info boxes, so we don't rely on them. That means no one wrote about it, not that it's missing.
No one said whether the toilets are inside or outside. Two writers confirmed separate men's and women's toilets themselves; other mentions are copied listings.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Heat in the chicken is disputed: 3 posts call it spicy, 1 says it is not, and 4 describe a gentle kick without settling either way. Nine describe a sweet-salty glaze. One writer suggests asking when you order if you avoid spice.
- No one described getting there by bus or train. Ten writers drove; the rest don't say. One puts it 15 minutes' drive from Andong Station, another about 20 from downtown.
- No one reported queuing; one post merely says there 'may be' a wait at weekend peaks. One writer noted the food came out quickly. A couple visiting on a Saturday morning with a group booking already scheduled phoned ahead and were seated at 10.
- Opening hours: 20 posts agree on 10:00–20:00 weekdays and 09:30–20:00 at weekends; 3 say 10:00–20:00 daily. Most of these are copied info boxes. Three say there is no regular day off, two say it closes on Chuseok day itself, and two say there is no afternoon break.
- Prices held steady: the medium chicken was ₩38,000 in both the 30 July post and the October ones. Actual bills reported include ₩61,000 for two (two seonbisang plus a seafood pancake), ₩85,000 for five (three basic heotjesabap, two mackerel sets, acorn jelly and a sikhye) and ₩84,000 for the two-person Andong Special.
- Fifteen posts give the phone number as 054-841-9967; one gives 054-842-8338 and one adds a mobile, 010-3507-3360. Reservations are by phone, and one writer advises weekend groups in spring and autumn to call ahead.
- No post discloses sponsorship; two say they paid their own way, the rest are silent. One post still contains an undeleted writing prompt about laying out a Q&A table, and two have a scraped review-count widget pasted in. Claims like 'selected by the Korea Tourism Organization', 'over 20 years' and 'all side dishes and kimchi made in-house' are the restaurant's own or hearsay, and we do not rely on them.
